  1. Streetheart vocalist Kenny Shields passed away early Friday morning (July 21) in a Winnipeg hospital following cardiac surgery at the age of 69. Shields had planned a Canadian tour to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary. Classic Canadian rock. RIP Kenny.
  2. Going to check out his restaurant Cooperstown in Phoenix next month so I'll see if I can pick this up at Best Buy.
  3. Is this live? I know they just released ROWYCO last year. I thought they would still be touring for that album but I guess you only get one 25th anniversary?
  4. Brutally sad. Was just starting to give Linkin Park a listen. Wouldn't necessarily consider myself a fan but I could make a decent playlist with what I do like.
  5. Like this one too. Love this aggressive sound.
  6. I don't like to criticize anyone keeping the dream alive but a little less hairspray and you have Ozzy fronting Shotgun Messiah.
  7. Another EP? I was under the assumption Get Off Your Ass was to include the 5 songs from Louder plus some new stuff for a full length release. Anyone know the track listing to clarify?
  8. Super cool artwork and I love the play on words. Never saw the Traci debacle live but the Riley/Lewis version rocked. Hopefully they pen some decent songs and this release is a solid comeback worthy of the Guns name and our money.
  9. If you haven't got the 2 albums by Swedes It's Alive then you need them, It's Alive - It's Alive 1991 & It's Alive - Earthquake Visions 1993,quintessential funk rock. And to think their vocalist Martin White went on to be the mega successful pop producer / song writer Max Martin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64znOMEwvWk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XyiJUsrsS8&list=PLaihyEf6gBOq4GLi-uXCxqiURmNEO6XAX&index=4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OGS3Mjx2sQ&index=3&list=PLaihyEf6gBOq4GLi-uXCxqiURmNEO6XAX Never heard of them. Thanks for sharing. Cool band very reminiscent of DRN. Wish the vocals were a little more like Circle of Soul but I still really dig what I hear. Nice find.
  10. Yup. Love Dan Reed Network and his solo stuff.
  11. I like funky soul infused hard rock so all these samples are not for me. Two of my all time favorite releases are by Circle of Soul (RIP Joie Mastrokalos); Hands of Faith and One Man's Poison. If anyone can turn me on to stuff similar to theirs I'd greatly appreciate it. Hope these links work.
  12. Enjoy your vacation. Feel free to drop by here with more updates though.
  13. Slamhound is a good comparison. I like it but I think you'd have to be a Josh Todd/Buckcherry fan to really dig this one. Anyone know why Keith Nelson split Buckcherry? Him and Josh have been tied to that band since the beginning.

  16. Marginal interest in both. Likely won't grab either. Probably prefer Nickelback over Styx. Can't understand the hate-on for Nickelback especially here in Canada. My guess is all the dipshits deriding them now are the same ones who bought up all their releases and tickets to their soldout shows early on. I own nothing by them but could make a cool playlist from the stuff I like by them and I thought they were fantastic the one time I saw them live.
  17. There is definitely a slightly bummed out tinge to the whole conversation. I am a huge Firehouse fan and living in Winnipeg I have wholehearted appreciation for the love they show the midwest as that is a region close enough for me to take a road trip to see them. I get where Snare is coming from, it is a major grind and a huge commitment to take off touring and leave your family back home when you aren't being compensated for it like a Bon Jovi or Def Leppard. But that is the reality for almost every mid level act of any genre. Tens of thousands of bands wish they had the success and name recognition of Firehouse. I mean, I get the point he is trying to get across; that he, too, is making sacrifices to put on a show for the fans but there is a huge difference between him travelling to put on a show and a fan travelling to see that show. He is being paid to do it. We, the fans, are not. In fact, when you meet someone who says they drove hours to see you play chances are they are paying a helluva lot more than the cost of a ticket and a souvenir t shirt to be there. Gas, food, accommodations, unpaid holiday leave, caregiver costs if they are leaving kids behind and often times airfare as well. All to see an artist whose music has touched them in a way that makes them go out of their way to see them perform live. At the end of the day, that doesn't pay the bills, I know, but there are an infinite number of things gnawing at our pay cheques as well so appreciate the fact that we are committing a tiny portion of our hard earned dollars to the Firehouse pay cheque. My rant for the day. Awesome live act either way!
  18. I'm expecting some pretty comprehensive lists for sure. Gotta start formulating mine.
  19. Great list Rocker. Anyone out there you still want to see that is still active?
  20. Agreed. Always meant to check these guys out because of the Trixter connection but never got around to it. Like that.
  21. Nice call. Always preferred their version over GNR and GNR did a killer job of it. RIP Mr Fryer.
  22. Good but I prefer Shark Island's version.
  23. No doubt this topic has been covered at some point in time here but oh well. Who have you seen live and if you have an eidetic memory feel free to include details such as opening act, year you saw them, what album they were supporting, curious obvervations/facts about that tour date etc. Go ahead. Make us readers jealous.
