  1. I didn't have anything for or against Griese. I just thought people should have given him a chance. One of my teachers in high school was a Broncos fan and she was always cutting Griese down. Surprisingly there were other Broncos fans in the class too. It was sort of an anomoly. Anyway, the concensus seemed to be that no one liked Griese. Hindsight is always 20/20. It really should have been Bubby Brister taking over after Elway. If I remember right he was promised the job, but they gave it to Griese anyway. Brister would have been more experienced and could have done more with the team. Letting Brister play would have given Griese more time.
  2. Believe me when I say that you will probably know Matt Harris very well in the near future. If all goes as planned you will see cd release of his old bands material. When you hear it you will be stunned as have all who have heard his voice. Those who have heard his band will probably be able to figure out who I'm talking about. I've only sent demos of the one band to people on this board. So here we are goin' on two years later... and the question remains unanswered... who the hell is Matt Harris? That should answer your question.
  3. I'm just now starting to get some spending money again. This was at the top of my to get list. With as much trouble as everyone is having I'm thinking that I might just skip this disc.
  4. It sure didn't take long before the heat was placed on Cutler. I thought he was supposed to be the next Elway? You would think the Broncos would have given him more time than that before thoughts of trading him started to come up.
  5. Wow! This topic dropped like a rock. So no guesses on who Matt Harris stole the band from? Matt also has a famous brother. Any guesses who it is?
  6. I'm not an expert when it comes to horror movies. If a movie looks entertaining I'll watch it. If it doesn't I won't. I do agree that original thought has been lost with the current movie industry. Everything is remakes, cookie cutter stories, or ideas taken from foreign movies. When the American film industry actually creates something that is original and successful they end up running it into the ground. The never ending Saw series is the best example. The first one was good and so was the second. The third one should have been the end of the series, but money talks. As long as people are paying there will be more to come. What really pisses me off about the movie industry is the cookie cutter approach that is taken. That doof that made Transformers almost destroyed it. The forumula used for Transformers is have a military hero, involve the government and some secret branch of it, an unlikely hero, a hot girl who is the love interest, and blow lots and lots of stuff up. They probably had the basic story of Transformers done in 5 minutes. There was certainly nothing coherent about the thing. Being a die hard Transfomers fan I found it quite disheartening.
  7. That would be quite disturbing. I hate to imagine how the rest of the conversation went.
  8. I noticed the redesign. At some point in the future I hope add more reviews. I have quite a few more tapes that needs to be on the site.
  9. I'm not a big fan of the NBA, but I'm hoping the OKC Thunder succeed. If they succeed maybe Oklahoma will eventually get a baseball or football team. I can hope anyway.
  10. I have the first Jet Red release on tape. I can't really remember much about it. I think that it didn't really impress me too much. I need to give it another play when I get back to Oklahoma.
  11. Kidd Havok is pretty good stuff. I will admit it took me a while to get into it. I also like the Dirty Rhythm release. I realize it's a bit short, but it's a solid release. The bonus video for Feel The Fire is a nice touch too. My favorite is of course Jungle Blue. It's a phenomenal release, but I'm probably being a little biased considering my name is in the thank you's.
  12. I doubt this show will last. If I remember the commercial right it's supposed to be on Friday nights. That's basically a death sentence to any show. I don't know how many shows I've seen go down the tubes the past 5+ years that were on Friday night. The only 2 I've seen stick were Ghost Whiperer and Numbers. If the show lasts I'll likely check it out at some point. I really liked Eliza on Tru Calling.
  13. In the 7 days I have worked at Wal-Mart I have bounced around quite a bit. 2 days of training, 1 day of backroom, 1 day on cereal, 2 days on baking, and 1 day on water. I don't quite understand it. At this point in time a job is a job. I'll do my best and hopefully I'll survive. In July I'll be headed back to Oklahoma. Hopefully by that time I'll know where I want to be and how to get there. Surely I can survive Wal-Mart for 5 months .
  14. I just bought a 6 pack of Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat and a 6 pack of Boulevard Wheat. I just drank a cherry wheat. At first I couldn't even taste the cherry flavor. When I got near the end of the bottle all of the cherry flavor came through. The first 2/3rds of the bottle wasn't anything spectacular, but the final 1/3rd was pretty tastey.
  15. I thought I had made it clear in my application that I wanted to be a stocker. I read their descriptions on the website and nothing I read made me think I was going to be in the backroom. I'll just tell it like it is. I f*ing hate retail. My work history isn't exactly wonderful so I applied where I thought I'd have a chance of employment. I was hoping this would be a temporary thing that would help propel me to something I could succeed at. Unless they get their crap together and fast I'll be gone. I'm not going to deal with the headache that is backroom.
  16. I swear that I must be cursed. Last night was my first night at Wal Mart. It was one of the worst nights of work I have ever had. The amazing thing is that it mirrored my first night at Target 3 and 1/2 years ago. I thought I would never experience that tortuous feeling again. Guess I was wrong. I thought I was going to be a stocker at Target and the next thing I know I'm in the backroom. The good thing is that I was so attrocious they pulled me out of the backroom and put me on the stocking team. I guess my attitude most have been bad because halfway through the night this guy came up and started talking to me. I guess it was apparent that I hated backroom. I ended up talking to the boss. She kind of talked to me like I was retarded. She wondered why I didn't know I was going to be in the backroom. She asked if I had read the packet. I told her I did and that's when I started to really think something was off. I kept trying to tell her that I don't like backroom and I don't think she understood. She kept saying that I hadn't even learned how to do it yet. I told her that I had done it before and I didn't want to do it again. Apparently I had applied to be a backroom person. In the descriptions they gave on the website there certainly wasn't anything that led me to believe that's what I was applying for. If there was I would have never applied. Throughout orientation I knew something was off, but I wasn't sure what. The initial description would have me believe that I was a stocker. Even some of the things I was told led me to believe that. Then I found that a couple of guys I was in orientation with had Sales Floor on their tags. When someone asked what they did their response was that they were a stocker. Since when have Sales Floor people been stockers? During orientation they made us take courses over everything under the sun. If it would have been narrowed down to backroom info I'm sure I would have picked up on it immediately. Instead they had me doing courses on things like the register. I was told to go into my preferences on the computer and change what job I wanted. That would get me out of my current job. The stupid system won't let you do that unless you're clocked in. I had just clocked out so I had no way to fix it. The woman that is over the thing talked to me like I was stupid. I guess she's just a wonderful person because she talked to the other people in there like they were stupid too. Stupid company in their efforts to fix a system that probably wasn't broke in the first place have created a monstrosity. Their job descriptions are jacked up, as are their company policies, and clocking in procedures. If they don't put me somewhere else I'm walking.
  17. I hope they drop by Rocklahoma. I would love to see them live. I thought Bump Ahead was excellent. It's a shame that I only had that on cassette. Whenever I have a chance I will buy it on cd.
  18. Because of computer problems I didn't get home until after halftime. I watched the second half as I installed the new computer. What I watched of the game was good, but the bad officiating could have ruined the game. Sometimes you have to wonder if the refs are biased or paid off.
  19. Those guys were from a town near me. I saw them live once. I'll have to check, but I think my review of them is actually on this site. I wasn't there to see them, they just so happened to be on the same bill as Dangerous Toys. I will admit that I think it's cool that they're from Oklahoma, but I'm not too impressed with their music. I just found my review of the show.
  20. Jungle Blue Matthew Harris (vocals, guitar) Peter Banfield (guitar, vocals) Raymond Hines (bass, vocals) Michael Wilson (keyboards, vocals) Dustin Rhoades (drums, vocals) Nuff said.
  21. This is me and the great Peter Banfield. This pic was taken yesterday at Firey Bros. I went there to talk about his upcoming projects and to get my cds signed. I was happy to finally get my pic taken with him. You never know when the next opportunity will arise. I also got to meet Dustin Rhodes and Mike Wilson for the first time today. 3 sigs down and 2 to go .
  22. I just met up with my friends in Jungle Blue today. They said they would love to do a show, but don't think it will happen. With 3 guys in Tulsa and 2 in Nashville it will be a tough go. They're all really busy too. The pay to play thing is another obstacle, but I think it can be overcome. What I want is for people to send messages to Jungle Blue and tell them how much they want to see Jungle Blue. I know I do. Maybe if enough people push the reunion show idea they will actually give it a go. It's worth a shot anyway. www.myspace.com/jungleblueband I'm pretty sure Mike runs the page. On the friends list I'm #1, Mike's 2, and Dustin is 3. Make sure to send Mike and Dustin a message if you want to see them live.
  23. I'm just curious about how many people have heard this? I made it back to Tulsa this weekend. Unfortunately, the reason I'm here is another funeral. Anyway, last night I finally got to hear the long awaited cd. I've been waiting ages to hear it. Pretty good stuff I must say. Sho' 'Nuff Attitude is awesome and the improved version of Let It Fall is killer. There are also some tracks I haven't heard before. The instrumental with Pete is just out there. I don't think I've ever heard an 80's style band do a song like that. All around good stuff. I can't wait for then next cd. I do have another question. The bio inside says Matt stole the band from an old guy. Anybody know who that old guy was? That guys cd happens to be on this site.
  24. I just got my Jungle Blue cds yesterday and found that both copies had all of the prong things in the middle broken out. I could hear rattling before I even opened the package. I knew it wasn't going to be good. So far 3 out of 4 cds that I've bought directly from Suncity have arrived that way. There has to be a way for cds to arrive from Austrailia without getting beat to heck.
  25. Sunset Wheat? That stuff finishes with a taste of Fruity Pebbles. An interesting surprise in the beginning, a nauseating nuisance around beer #4. I don't know how it's possible, but your description is quite right. It freaking tastes like Fruity Pebbles. If there ever was such a thing as beer for kids this would be it. If I get wheat beer again I think I'm going with Boulevard. I would have bought a 6 pack, but they were sold out.
