  1. Rocklahoma has been very kind to me. I've received signatures from many bands that way. I love meeting my heroes and having something to show for it. I've never had a band sign anything other than the booklet. Most bands ask where you want them to sign. I'm not sure how I would react to having the actual cd signed. If they did I couldn't really say much. I must also say that I'm happy to have signed cds that no one else has. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one out there with signed Jungle Blue cds. I love this stuff.
  2. Matt's brother is Sam Harris. He won Star Search in its premiere season. He's had some success, so I guess that kind of makes him famous.
  3. The Caterine Music website has a list of all of his releases. Apparently Tragic Nancy had one release called Gods Among Men. I knew they had at least one cd, but I didn't know the title. It must be pretty hard to find because I've never seen a copy.
  4. I have over 100 cds, but I would like to have more. Most of my collection is cassettes. I try to only keep albums that have something on it I like. If the cd or cassette is complete garbage I try to find a way to get rid of it. I don't have room for music I'll never listen to again.
  5. I'm glad someone made this post. I had planned to make a topic about how great this album is, but for one reason or another it never happened.
  6. I've seen it advertised and I have even been watching Fox when it came on, but I've never watched it. I just thought it would be another news show. If it's a comedy I might have to check it out.
  7. Wow! No interest at all. I thought there would surely be a bit. Not sure how many people know of the band Sacred Rite from Hawaii. If you are into obscure metal you probably do. Two of the guys in Tragic Nancy were in Sacred Rite. Not exactly sure how they ended up in Tulsa or Tragic Nancy.
  8. It's definetely my favorite Journey album. I think I've listened to Evolution more than any other album. I've listened to it so many times that even after not listening to it for several years I still felt burned out when I listened to it again. Even with that being the case I still felt the need to listen to it over and over again. Something strangely perfect about the album.
  9. I watch the show A Haunting on Discovery. That show is pretty creepy. It seems as though many of the people who are haunted don't believe in it until it happens to them.
  10. I've known about Tragic Nancy for a while. One of Tulsa's many forgotten bands. For some reason I still haven't given their music a proper listen. They haven't had a page up for too long. I happened to see their name on my friends list just now and it got me interested again. It seems that there haven't been any posts about this band so far. Since there hasn't been anything mentioned yet I want to get the info out there. I'm still not sure what to think about them, so I'll let you be the judge.
  11. That kind of annoyed me to see that The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was on and I couldn't watch it. If I would have stayed up to watch it there's no way I could have been ready for work that night.
  12. I read that article on MSN and there were pics. Unfortunately, none of them were nude. Not sure why they aren't in this one.
  13. If Hallows is playing Rocklahoma and doesn't know what pay to play is then that leaves me really confused. Hopefully at some point it will be explained.
  14. Mello Yello is my favorite drink of all time. It pisses me off that I can't find it any more.
  15. I like Coke. RC isn't bad either.
  16. How about neither? I would go to just about any place other than those 2.
  17. sure theyre mediocre if you want a hardcore, hollywood western....but the Young Guns films are for the most part historically accurate, which makes the story even more interesting to me because it all happened (give or take a few changes here and there such as certain people dying at the wrong time or whatnot) same reason i like Tombstone and Wyatt Earp... I'm not sure how Young Guns could have been historically accurate. Did Billy The Kid go off all the time and randomly kill people for no reason? It just doesn't seem right. Who knows, maybe it was. Not sure about the accuracy of Wyatt Earp, but Tombstone wasn't very accurate. Everything that I've read about what happened doesn't seem to have made it into the movie. A highly entertaining movie, but accurate, not so much. Another couple westerns I forgot about were Little Big Man and Dances With Wolves. The movies are on the opposite ends of the Western spectrum, but both kick major ass. As great as Dances With Wolves is it's hard to believe it came out in 1990.
  18. There's no way that I could make it. I'm going to be in Texas until the beginning of July. By doing that I'm going to make it back right around July 4th and in time for Rocklahoma. Gotta have money for Rocklahoma and other expenses when I get back. If money was no problem I would quit my job and go to my family reunion June 17th in Colorado, head to NJ for the HH thing, and then go to Rocklahoma. If only I had the money I would do exactly that.
  19. After I watched For A Few Dollars More I watched Joe Kidd. That's another good movie, but not in the same league as the first movie. The Outlaw Josey Wales and the rest of the ones listed by aMetalhead1966 are all good. I must admit I've seen 2 Mules For Sister Sara way too many times. Another movie I've seen way too many times, but not recently, would be The Train Robbers. I need to see it again. For the most part westerns made after the 70's aren't that great. The 2 Young Guns movies are mediocre at best. Those are the only titles to come to mind at the moment. I think there were quite a few others that failed to captivate me. You gotta stay away from those movies. Go watch movies like Alvarez Kelly, The Cowboys, and MacKenna's Gold. TV miniseries like Lonesome Dove kind of bucked the bad western trend. The whole series is epic in scope and they deliver an experience you won't forget. It's prequel Comanche Moon was quite excellent too. Another good movie Robert Duvall starred in, other than Lonesome Dove, was the made for TV movie Broken Trail. He was also the bad guy in Joe Kidd. I've heard great things about The Wild Bunch. Anybody seen it before? It's up next for me to see. When I get a chance I'm going to buy all of those old movies. One of the many things I've been missing in my life.
  20. Where did that list come from? Those are some pretty kick ass names. I would go for Baton Rouge alone. You also need to add Nasty Nasty. They'll be back.
  21. I'm a huge fan of Westerns. There just seems to be something in a western that you can't find in any other genre of film. I grew up watching westerns, but for some reason I've kind of gotten away from them over the last few years. Watching Pale Rider last night helped me to remember why I loved the genre so much. Guys like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were bad ass. They didn't take crap from no one. If you did something bad to them you knew you were going to get filled full of lead. The old western guys were real men. There were no wusses like in todays movies. My favorite western of all time is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The whole man with no name trilogy is excellent. Clint Eastwood has been in some excellent westerns. I'm also a huge fan of John Wayne. I think my favorite movie of his as a kid was Big Jake. That movie is awesome. The Duke kicks the bad guys ass for taking his grandson. You gotta love it when the bad guys face such a brutal end. Newer westerns are a mixed bag. There's not a big market for westerns so most of the newer movies go straight to video. The movies that do make it to the theater aren't necessarily any better. The remake of 3:10 to Yuma was complete and utter garbage. I can't believe I wasted 2 hours of my life watching it. The 2003 Kevin Costner movie Open Range kicked ass. That does give me some hope. The movie Appaloosa just came out and it seems to have received some positive reviews. I can't wait to watch it. Anyway, I'll leave it at that. I'm missing For A Few Dollars More right now on AMC.
  22. Life seems to perpetually suck for me. It's good to know I'm not the only one struggling. Feeling alone in your struggle is one of the toughest things to face. I wish ya the best of luck getting back on track.
  23. It's going to be interesting to see how this affects me at work tonight.
  24. I don't know what happened to me. I just don't have the desire to drink any more. I still have a Spaten, 2 Boulevards, and about 6 MGD's in the fridge. Not sure how I'm going to finish them.
  25. There are many Suncity releases that I would still like to get. Some I already have and haven't been given the attention they deserve. I have all 3 Fashion Police releases and Pretty Vacant. Those 4 just didn't click with me immediately. Swingin' Thing just didn't sound that great to me. Some decent songs, but most were uninspired. Must get releases for me.
