What's a spinnin' in your CD player?

Recommended Posts

TNT - 'My Religion' ; 'You'll be there' - Tim (2), how can you possibly not like this or 'Perfectly' or 'Live today'??? :P

Sorry mate. Played this the other day (after the thread came out) and it still does nothing for me, after the first 4 tracks - which are awesome.

Next Up:-

CIRCLE II CIRCLE - Revelations E.P

Trivium- The Crusade :banger::banger::banger:

This cd rawks.

Is a great disc. I'd strongly recommend avoiding their previous albums!

Now playing:-

FLOTSAM & JETSAM - Doomsday for the Deceiver (re-master)

This is the best value-for-money re-issue I've ever bought. Both original & remaster in one awesome package. And the re-master is immense.

Hey Tim (2), would you also suggest avoiding the back-catalogue for Killswitch Engage, or do you like them all? I was spinning 'As Daylight Dies' this morning and I did like it, but it didn't differ as much, for me, as I'd hoped it would from their previous releases. Still A LOT of screaming. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the disc, actually prefer it to the Trivium one... but there's so much screaming, so many tempo changes and everything "complex". Some of the sections in the songs were amazing, but it's such a mixed bag. I'm not sure I like the dude's singing voice either. I really pity the main guy's voice box.

KsE's last album "The End of Heartache" was a great one too (the title-track is huge), but "Daylight..." is their best IMO. I'm guessing you like "My Curse" & "Arms of Sorrow" the best? Great melodic tunes, almost ballads. I just love the melodic side of Howard Jones' voice, & how they mix up the melodic lines then the crushing guitars. DIECAST are another similar band who mix the melody with the power, but are probably less technical & may suit your tastes more.

On this mornings work-commute:-

JON OLIVAs PAIN - Manical Renderings

TRIVIUM - Ascendancy (good tunes, but those vocals... :blink: )

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
