Still spinnin' Johnny Lima~ Livin' Out Loud

What are your thoughts on that album? I'm curious, 'cause I've always enjoyed Johnny Lima's releases, even though the quality has dropped with each subsequent release, IMO (with the exception of Version 1.2).

On topic:

I'm spinning Nasty Idols - Gigolos On Parole

It's weird to hear an album full of AOR/Melodic Rock songs from one of the better Sleaze bands out there, but I do put this album on every once in a while, as it's got a pretty nice collection of songs.

I like it. Like you, I am sort of a luke warm Lima fan. But when he's on, he can put out a great tune. He did so on about half of this one.

Bad Company - "Holy Water" (1991)

Great album, even though are resident Paul Rodgers fan Dave would argue that that isn't a true Bad Company album but I love it anyway and to these ears there's not a bad tune on it.

Yeah I agree... I personally think it's a phenomenal AOR/melodic rock disc. Strong vocals, big production, good songwriting & musicianship. :drink:

    • Also last couple of songs have an Axl Rose or Stephen Shareaux vibe to them.
    • He has such a familiar and somewhat comforting voice. For me he was the best of Krokus. The Blitz, Change Of Address and Heart Attack. Not to say I don't like otehr songs, I do, but he make Krokus a nice rounded package with great consistant songs. This song is a bit too AC/DC for me, but as usual hookier and a better tune than most ACDC songs
    • So I've listend to this enough to review it. Overall it's a ptrtty good album. Most of the songs are good or really good. Not many if any great or mind blowing songs. So for me it's an easy album to listen to. Most of the songs will be keepers, amny of them will just scrape through as keepers.

    • New song 'On The Edge'. From AFM Records: The German Hard Rock champions VOODOO CIRCLE release their 7th studio album.
