OMG........that is VERY strange!! I had never even heard of them until he mentioned them!!! I can't hear enough of him in this though.... MUCH prefer him in American Angel!!!

Yeah, WASP ain't exactly one for the kids.

It's a really good compilation actually. Some of the albums after that are a lot darker and more intense so you probably have the best introduction to them.

 

Arcara has a couple of albums that are both decent and if you like the guys voice he was the singer on the last Prophet album before they split. None of them are as good as American Angel tho'.

What a great singer.

 

Sounds just like Rod in his prime.

 

When i was a teenager and played The Quireboys my mum would ask why i was listening to Rod Stewart!!!

Lets face it The Quireboys drew most of their influences from The Faces era Rod.

 

Saw the Quireboys support Roth back in Feb & I gotta say that Spike is one of the few singers out there who still sounds as good now as he always has.

You can see how much he enjoys being up on stage & looks barely a day older than he did when he recorded A bit of what you fancy!

 

Only thing by him I havent been keen on is his Gods Hotel album,it just didnt have the spark or the hooks of the QBs!

Tell ya what,although A bit of what you fancy is probably their finest overall album,the follow up Bittersweet & twisted is an overlooked gem of an album.

Just listen to the song King of New York,now that is one beautiful song!
