I thought I wanted to give a shout to one of my all time favs that never caught on like I felt they should, probably never hear anything new from them as Murray is such a huge producer now I dont see him ever going back to this, but one of my fave guitarists Mikey D, and they harmonized like really no other bands do, I just love their sound, you guys like???

This is good stuff. Will have to keep an eye out for a disc.

Their first two albums were around the time I started really getting into melodic rock and these guys were one of the first current bands, at the time, that I listened to, and was heartened to hear that great music was still being recorded. First two albums are sensational and the albums after generally have a few cool tunes.

Cody, I assume you know Murray produced Cauterize's debut album and I think he even co-wrote a song or two, as well as providing backing vocals? True story.

Yes I talked to him for awhile about them, we both feel like thats truly one of those sincerely fucked up breaks that there really was no good reason for, Cauterize not becoming fucking huge, any fan of that music ive ever played them for has bought the disc, they were truly talented, had an awesome and unique sound, and awesome songs, it was a head scratcher, he said the entire time he was doing that album he just kept seeing dollar signs pop up in his head, it truly was one of the saddest misses in music history, it was that good of an album, just goes to show that you dont need to be good to be famous, and you can be the absolute best at what you do and nobody will ever fucking know about you.

The Harem Scarem vibes come from the vocal harmonies, at least to me. I'll have to look into this band.

I agree, and I always get into arguments over this, as both bands have excellent guitarists, then people start in on me about Lesperance being better then Dimitrovich, I dont agree, the HS ties are there, Darren Smith played drums on their Short Sighted album, and they did shows with them, how many bands sound like HS, even enough to get compared, Murray said he always took it as a compliment as they were his idols growing up.

I can definitely hear HS in the melodies, but I thought the debut was probably more Dokken than HS. Some cool 'Under Lock And Key' style riffage on that one...

Had them all,but only kept Broken Saviours & Age Of Innocence (the first two) picked them up from Now & Then records at the time who were in tandem with Frontiers early on,wasnt too keen on the albums that followed and sold them on years ago on evilbay.

    • Well this is some excellent news. Going to see Sophie Lloyds first headline show on 17th Oct in London (tiny club called The Underworld) and it has just been announced that the support act will be Chez Kane... can I handle two fit birds peforming on stage or will my heart give out before the show is over?
    • I don't rate or grade albums with any kinda numbering system or percentage. All I do is think which were the albums I enjoyed most, which generally means got played the most (I mean you don't play the worst albums over and over again for months), with memorable songs. Then when it comes to what order they go in. Once again, I just go with what I feel got the most airplay for me over the course of time. Obviously an album released in Jan is gonna potentially have more play time than one released in November, but It's down to longevity as well. If I play an album solidly for a month then move on, it's probably gonna be top 10, but if other albums are still being played regularly 3 or more months after release, those are gonna rank higher. I mean this year Judas Priest was a fairly early release in the year, but I am still playing it now, although  not as often. Then an album like Mick Mars which I loved, but has kinda fallen off my radar in the last six months, will rank a lot lower. I try to not go for recency bias as well even though I have been listening to one album in my top 10 for only a week, but it was such an insantaneous album I know its gonna get heavy play time for the next few months.
    • Good Times Roll-The Cars
    • Video for 'I'll Stand For You'.
    • New song 'Who Am I' taken from the album 'Into The Great Unknown' out November 15 through Frontiers.
    • @Darkstone, I just randomly clicked on your link and listened to "Hardened Heart." In the interest of full disclosure, I am not personally a fan of AI music--I find something about the vocals sterile and offputting--but I wanted to say that I thought that particular song sounded like something White Lion would have done back in the day. Nice power ballad, despite my aforementioned issues with AI tunes. While it's not for me, I'm glad people have an outlet for their creative impulses, and there's no doubt some cool stuff is emerging, with "Hardened Heart" being among the best I've heard.
    • Isn't that like the Hawaii situation all over again? But at least the Ukraine have all the US-funded weapons they need, I guess.  Anyway, Mike, sounds really full on but I am glad that you and your family are well, relatively speaking. Wishing you and all the surrounding communities a worthy recovery.
    • Quite sad, my band probably would have shared a stage with these guys in December...
    • That new sound is great...a new singer too by the looks of it...loving that
    • Glad to hear that you and your family are safe Whiplash ,just sounds so terrible what you are all going through,my thoughts are with you.
