Sooooo that's half of the album already released ;)

Really like that, may take a while to have the same impact as the self titled had though.

Yeah, I like the new tune too.

Looking like it will be a good disc being that we've heard most of it.  I've really not listened to any of the tunes released more than a couple times though so it'll all be pretty fresh for me when it does come out.

I'd preorder this but haven't really seen it anywhere yet except on digital outlets.  And I'm not buying digital lol.  Guessing it'll start showing up soon.

I got mine pre-ordered on cd from Amazon in the UK...and only £11 with free postage because I ordered the new Santa Cruz also...hopefully they don't let me down with it

Looking forward to this but that Blue Virgin Isles song is  animation character GIF by Squirlart

Agree on that.  I don't like that tune much at all and am pretty positive it'll be an easy skip.  That should've just been a japan bonus track or something.  Or at the very least like the 12th song on the album instead of chucked in the middle.

Rest looking good though and will be picking this up for sure.

Listening today....pretty good.

Couple annoying moments with the Intro and Interlude....both kinda pointless.  The Interlude is more annoying to me as it just breaks up things that are flowing along well.  So it's really a 10 track album.  And for me Blue Virgin Isles is horribly boring...So for me it's really a 9 track album.

The rest is all pretty solid though.  It starts out kinda with the heavy side of Degreed and seems to get more commercial as it goes along.

Initially, I think my early standouts are Lost Generation, Summer Of Love and Body Of Work.  Lost Generation is a pretty melodic type rocker, Summer of Love kind of a throwback mild melodic rocker and Body of Work just feels like typical Degreed with poppy and heavy elements blended together.

Overall, feels maybe a bit more commercial than their previous efforts and can't say it's overly blowing me away.  At the same time though still good and some worthy additions to their catalog.

Brilliant song, and such a good album, really liking it apart from the intro/interlude thing...even the Blue Virgin Isle track which seems to have an emotional attachment of somekind to the band like theyre looking back on good times gone by just like Ruins.

A definite top 5 for me

yeah I'm diggin it. As said Blue Virgin Isles is an odd song and doesn't quite fit imo....much preferred it when they covered Steve Perry ;)

but really why have a cover song at all?

lovin some of these tracks tho.

No kidding! Great song, a highlight of 2019

Yep, one of the top highlights for me instantly.

Otherwise, another very fine album. Again. Great band.

    • As best I can tell, it’s Acousticyzed re-issued with new artwork, and in all the various formats mentioned. This is exactly why I didn’t worry about picking it up earlier this year, as I figured MS would whip out the holy schlong and try to get the hardcore fans to shell out for a second version.

    • Not really something that fully appeals to me, but I certainly don't see it as dogshit. If it came on the radio (not that I listen to radio) I certainly would not turn it off or skip it on a playlist.
    • Yeah, this whole thread offends me.
    • I'm liking that first track as well
    • Interesting song choice as far as covering Journey, but they likely wanted to go with a lesser known track.   I'm not a fan of the vocal effects nor the guitar tone.  It's a skip for me, but not as bad as I was expecting after reading the prior comments.

    • Ehh? Is this the same content retitled, or a completely different set of live material?... there's so much wrong with this announcement: This album was previously released as a very-limited CD/DVD.  It sold out instantly.  So we went back in and did a Dolby Atmos remaster/remix of the album, and all new artwork. But CD and DVD don't support Dolby Atmos. That's not a thing. Blu-Ray yes, but not CD or DVD. ALSO - Not only will this be available on streaming platforms but we will soon be announcing the release of Vinyl, CD/DVD, and Cassette.  Yes, you read that right.  Cassette.  Oh - let's talk about the video - the BluRay video has been upgraded to 4K for this release "Upgraded to 4k"... whut? Unless it was reshot using 4K cameras (or was originally shot in 4K but simply authored to blu-ray in SDR) and is completely reauthored to support HDR, a 4K UHD release may not actually be an improvement. Boomers saying boomer things...
    • From the Michael Sweet FB page: You asked for it!  And we listened!  To Hell with the Amps, our acoustic album, is being released worldwide on May 10 to streaming services everywhere.   This album was previously released as a very-limited CD/DVD.  It sold out instantly.  So we went back in and did a Dolby Atmos remaster/remix of the album, and all new artwork.   ALSO - Not only will this be available on streaming platforms but we will soon be announcing the release of Vinyl, CD/DVD, and Cassette.  Yes, you read that right.  Cassette.  Oh - let's talk about the video - the BluRay video has been upgraded to 4K for this release.   There are so many exciting things to come with this release.  Stay tuned here and at Stryper.com We are looking forward to taking this acoustic album on the road starting May 30.
