Not inspired by Spinal Tap as both were in production at the same time & Bad News came out in 83, Spinal Tap not until 84.

Well there you go.

For some reason I've always thought that Spinal Tap was a lot earlier.

Another "Parody" band, this time from the UK.

In the mid 80s, "Bad News" released an album and they were definitely influenced by "Spinal Tap".

They weren't just nobodies. As with Spinal Tap's legendary pedigree, the band consisted of British comedy royalty including three members of "The Young Ones", a classic 80s TV comedy. Aussies, Brits and Canadians should be familiar with it, but not so much Americans.

It's a bit too much TBH. Not as subtle as Spinal Tap.

That would be hilarious had they pretended to be Americans, like McKeon, Guest and Shearer pretended to be Brits.

This is a "make me happy" video.

I don't know why it moves me so much. I know it sounds corny, but I think it's just the joy and happiness on display (no homo).

I love this one.

Teller speaks!

I'm sure we're all aware of Penn & Teller, but how many of you have heard Teller?

The funny thing is that he actually has quite a deep and silky voice. He could have been a professional voice over guy or radio DJ, no worries.

Here's an interesting one. I've always loved "Heart", particularly "Magic Man" and "Barracuda".

I didn't realize the "Barracuda" riff was a rip off.

I've posted "Magic Man" as a treat.

I really love that track. Very, very cool.

A great clip from "Smokey and the Bandit".

This movie and the sequel were very high on my VHS rotation back in the day.

Sally Field was as hot as FUCK! in the late 70s.

I remember that around this time, "Truckers", or as we call them down here, "Truckies", were very prominent in popular culture (it's interesting also that Americans say "Biker", but Aussies say "Bikie"). C.B. Radios were all the rage. The movie "Convoy" and the single from it by C.W. McCall were huge hits.

This one popped up in my recommendations.

I've heard the Pearl Jam song "Jeremy" a million times and although I kinda thought it was based on a true story, I'd never really looked into it.

It's only a short clip. An interview with his Mother and classmate. Very sad.

It's something you don't think about, but you could imagine how his family and loved ones feel when they hear this song on the radio, particularly when it was first released and the video was on every five minutes.

By the sounds of it, Pearl Jam saw the story and decided to make the song (and a lot of money out of it) without actually bothering to get the full story. I'd be interested to know if Pearl Jam has ever contributed towards or brought attention to youth suicide prevention. I hope so.

I feel they've done Jeremy Delle and his family a disservice.

If you haven't seen the movie "Crossroads" with Ralph Macchio, then do so immediately.

I watch this scene every now and then but the available youtube clips were short. I've just noticed that someone's posted a great long version recently. It goes for nearly 15 minutes, but take the time if you can.

The guitar battle with Steve Vai is Biblical.   ;)

Dino Jelusick and Ivan Keller from "Animal Drive" in an Epic 48 second video with no vocals from Dino.

Honestly, I've never heard a Keytar sound as good as that.

This one popped up in my youtube recommendations.

When I saw the title, I had to watch it.

"Frankie Goes To Hollywood & Lemmy - Relax".

It takes a while to deliver, but there's plenty to watch in the meantime.

The "Frankie" boys aren't interested of course, but it's good to see Lemmy swoop in and pick up the crumbs.

Actually I prefer the Frankie boys. Never been a fan of Lemmy.

I've posted a few videos from the "Top 2000 a gogo" channel.

This one about the origins of Roxette's "It Must Have Been Love" is great. Short, but sweet.

Thank you for not making a "Collingwood" supporter reference. (Another Aussie reference).
