Another dreary song putting the IT world to rights.

Zzzzzz

Really? I don't think it sounds like Great White but it's not a bad tune.

Just really poor lyrical content

That I agree with. Another song about technology ruining the world. LOL

Yeah, been there, done that with

It's stylistically all over the place. It sounds forced and disjointed. It literally has zero to do with Great White besides the vocals.

Honestly not surprised. I was hoping for something similar to GW but it sounds like that ain't going to happen. Oh well, plenty more greatness coming this year

My review:

1. Sign of the Times ---> 7

2. She Moves Me ---> 8

3. Crazy ---> 6

4. Love Don't Live Here ---> 8

5. My Addiction ---> 5

6. Anything for You ---> 4

7. He Saw it Comin' ---> 5

8. Don't Let Me Go ---> 6

9. Spy vs Spy ---> 5

10. Blame it on the Night ---> 8

11. Godspeed ---> 4

Total: 60%

More thoughts:

The singles were the "best" songs on the album

If your going to write a ballad, listen to track 6 and do it differently

The band really should have had a different name as Great White's heritage is no where to be found

Jack is getting older and the high notes aren't as friendly as they used to be

Overall: Disappointing and a very forgettable album

After thinking about it more: it's like they went in without listening to GW's records and songs that made them great and came up with this

I'm gonna assume that is a pretty bad score for you.

As I've said before, I struggle with your ratings system here.

For me an 8/10 is a great song, 7/10 is really good, 6/10 is good and 5/10 is ok

It isn't Great White at all, and I agree that he shouldn't be using the name for that reason alone.

A few songs have a bit of GW in them, but more because of the voice than anything else.

I think I'll eventually see this album as being ok, but only if I dissociate it with GW.

Kind of like Coverdale and Into The Light. If you were expecting Whitesnake, you'd not be happy.

Here's what I think.

my rating system is a bit more straight forward

1 Sign Of The Times – Took a couple of listens, but I quite like this one - GOOD

2 She Moves Me - meh - AVERAGE/WEAK

3 Crazy – OK, probably grow on me a bit I guess - AVERAGE

4 Love Don’t Live Here - the best song. Most like great white - GREAT

5. My Addiction - I like this one, kind of reminds me of vampire type music. What you’d expect on Lost Boys etc - GREAT

6. Anything For You – a nice little ballad. Nothing new or exciting. Not a song you’d probably want to whack on a disc with other songs unless they were all like this. - AVERAGE

7. He Saw It Comin’ – Kinda funky, a bit Beatlesque possibly at times. I like it at times, then Jack sings “he saw it comin’” over and over and kills the song - AVERAGE

8. Don’t Let Me Go – Another funky song. I like this done much more than the last. - GOOD

9. Spy Vs Spy – It’s ok, may grow on me - AVERAGE

10. Blame It On The Night – meh - AVERAGE/WEAK

11. Godspeed – What the hell? Run out of songs much? I get what he’s trying to do, but Billy Joel did it already 30 years ago. - WEAK

Nice summary, mate. I enjoyed that. I haven't heard the album yet, but I might try it out on Tuesday night maybe.

    • New song 'Burning Like A Falling Star' from the forthcoming album 'Full Circle'.
    • Well, the first two "Giant" albums are quintessential, as is the "Hardline" debut. Akdo Nova's "Blood on the Bricks" is one of my all time favourites, Lizzy Borden is awesome as is the Mark/Marcie Free fronted "King Kobra".
    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • New song 'Chase The Sun'.
    • Super Sabre - Sugar and Spice *This is actually a full album, “Chasing the Rabbit”, with a complete band backstory included in the YT description. “Sugar and Spice” is the opening track…
    • EP out August 16th on Black Lodge Records. Since the release of the album "Now!", Roulette has embarked on a remarkable musical journey. Over the years, released several digital singles, each contributing to the evolving story of the band. As Roulette gear up for the new summer single "Love's The Drug", we're thrilled to announce the release of our special collection, the EP "From Now Until Today". This EP gathers all the singles released since "Now!", encapsulating the essence of Roulettes latest musical explorations. For the loyal fans, the physical releases also included a special bonus track that you won't find anywhere else-exclusively on this EP. Tracklist: LOVES THE DRUG READY FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIFE WILL GO ON SUMMER DAY TEST OF TIME
    • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
