Really? You, of all people, have not seen Star Trek?

Never been much of a "Trek" guy...casual fan at best. I was always more of a Star Wars kid.

When the last one came out I was kinda interested cuz I liked the idea of being able to "start from scratch" without having to know 40+ years of back story but never got around to it for whatever reason.

I'm no Kirk-loving Spock-sucker. I'm a Star Wars nerd, through and through. But that Star Trek film was just great sci-fi. Simply put.

"Spock-sucker" :rofl:

Have you seen the movie "Fanboys" by any chance? The main characters (a group of Star Wars nerds) have numerous scrapes/fights with Trekkies throughout that film. Love it.

Ok first?? I LOVED Fanboys Keith!!!!

Now then I can't WAIT for the new Star Trek movie!!!! I was nervous at first about the last one, with the going back to before the first movie with Spock and Kirk first meeting and etc.... I was worried they would fuck it all up, but I LOVED it!!! I am hopeful this new one is just as good if not better!!!

Easy dude, easy....you're spraying fanboy jizz all over the place.

As for me... I guess I should check out that '09 Trek reboot at some point... wonder if they have the DVD at the public library? (Makes mental note to check that out)

I read this yesterday. JJ Abrams is a class act. Kinda reminded me of the end of "Fanboys."

Seriously??? The reboot was fanfuckingtastic!

you have to check it out.

Okay, okay, you all have talked me into it. The '09 "Star Trek" happens to be on the FX channel later this afternoon so I already have my recorder set for it. Lord knows when I'll find time to watch it, but at least it'll be there.

...ya happy now?? :D

    • Ordered Saturday, arrived today. Wasn't expecting them that quickly. I especially like the stickered custom-fitted protective mailer that the Live at Budokan Tokyo 1983 set came in, protecting it from being banged against other merchandise in the carton. Very nicely priced (see my threads in the deals section).

    • Awesome! I got my copy last week. About a year ago, they said announced that they were re-recording their songs, but I'm not sure if they're still doing it.
    • They released a double best of, Ultimate Hits and double CD of Masterpieces two years ago.
    • Yeah pretty good band, the cd is hard to find , I got the demo recordings cd they released on Street Legacy back in 2013.
    • "Suspicious Heart" by Van Stephenson
    • I wound up picking this one up as well, and I must say, this has been a most pleasant surprise. Very good melodic rock/AOR throughout, and gets better with each listen. Not sure why they haven't released "Midnight Lady" as a single/video, as it is far and away the best track on the album... IMO of course.
    • This one is really good honestly, 10 songs, pretty much all their big hits. Very concise.
    • I think most people know my stance on these two. I love LA Guns and think Tracii is one of the best guitarists to come out of the hair metal scene, and while I like Stryper I have really gone off them due to Michaels compulsion to release new material every second Wednesday. I have not bought the last 2 or 3 Stryper albums, and a bunch of other stuff he is involved in because of this. Hell, didnt even pick the first Sunbomb album up til early this year and only then it was because I got it for £5 instead of the usual £13 to £15 that Frontiers CDs usually cost. That album did not impress me. Musically it was tight but Sweets vocals were pretty "meh", and sounds like they are gonna be even worse on this album. Have to agree to what has already been said, but I can barely even understand what he is singing. Now while I am fine with listening to foreign language songs, if a singers native tongue is English, I wanna be able to understand what he is singing. Fuck me, there are death metal bands out there easier to understand than this. If I didnt know the song title, I would think it was called I'm bating bulls yeah
