After the Southern rock of his first 4 solo albums, this was very much more AOR/Melodic rock. I love his Southern stuff, but this is also a really great disc and a bit of an underground classix in a few peoples eyes. Nice pick!

I had no idea that Johnny hated this CD. Was he pushed against his will in the AOR direction? By a label presumably?

Then again, looking at the writing credits for this I see that most songs were provided by outside writers, so maybe it does make sense he would hate this. "I'm A Fighter" seems to be an unreleased COBRA tune (written by Jimi Jamison and Mandy Meyer). "Does A Fool Ever Learn" is an Eddie Schwartz cover and "2+2" was recorded already back in 1982 by RPM. So I guess even though this record is pretty much a product of it's time, it's is still an all-time classic in my book.
