Edguy have a new album on the way, their 9th in fact, and is titled 'Age of the Joker'. I don't know too much about it but Tobias has desribed it as "anthemic" and "melodic". I love the cover art too. Release is set for August 2011 on Nuclear Blast Records.

i agree with the term of 'genius', although Tinnitus and Avantasia Babylon isn't as good as I expected, at least The Wicked Symphony is pretty solid in my book.

Didn't expect much from this, but hopefully he can top out Tinnitus this time, at least on par with Rocket

After the last pile of shit they released, I officially am on suspect status, I will wait and listen to samples before I blow my hard earned money like I did last disc, imo Hellfire Club is a pinnacle album and cant be outdone, so im basically just buying Edguy discs in search of hopefully a couple good new songs, at most!

that's what I'm expecting so hopefully this one is a great mixed bag of their classic melodic metal of Hellfire and melodic hard rock of Rocket :christmas:

Yeah we live in hope.

I just bought Tinnutus Sanctus and yup it's not that good. There's a few good songs and the sound is good but I wonder if Tobias is spreading himself thin with Edguy and Avantasia projects every year. Hopefully this new is good.

From the first preview: Haha... bad sign that I was already fast forwarding the 'Robin Hood' song - terrible, but 'Nobody's hero' is excellent. 'Rock of 'Cashal' is awful too, 'Pandora's Box' sounds good.

From the 2nd preview the last song sounds brilliant... but the ones before sound like duds too. Overall, it sounds like there will be plenty of fillers, but hopefully the good stuff is good enough to make it an overall winner.

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
