Guilty Pleasures

Recommended Posts

I had a look for a thread on guilty pleasures, but could only find one limited to bands. I can't think of any bands I consider a guilty pleasure, but there are a couple of songs that spring to mind:

S.O.A.P. - This Is How We Party

Barry Manilow - This One's For You

Pretty shameful I know. :anon:

Anyway, does anyone else have anything to confess?

I haven't heard the original just the Cradle Of Filth (with King Diamond) version but that's great! :headbanger::tumbsup:

Classic Cliff, a truly great song IMO

Funny that this topic comes up today. Just 2 nights ago I found myself spinning Madonna - "Like A Prayer" (the whole disc).

Yeah... I know.... not very metal. But I dig it. :screwy:

Hell...Tonight I may even spin her self-titled. :rofl2:

All Out Of Love is an absolute classic! Nothing guilty about that (in my opinion)!

No offence, but I think you need to step it up - your selections are far too good to be guilty pleasures! I was truly embarrassed typing mine and could probably add some more shockers to the list as well...

I think I've confessed this before, and even though I'm embarrassed when I hear it, I like 'If I let you go' by Westlife.

Guilty pleasures eh.

I'll step this up a notch, just to name a few:

All For One - I Swear

Tone Loc - Funky Cold Medina

Roxette - Fading Like A Flower

Jewel - Hands

Bonnie Tyler - Have You Ever Seen the Rain

Faith Hill - Breathe

Dan Hill - to embarrassed to say which song

Taylor Dayne - I'll Be Your Shelter

I'm outta here, never to be seen again. Nice knowin' you all.

Yeah, if you're going to include Roxette and Belinda Carlise, I like quite a few of their tunes too. :)

Well.... It has now been 2 days since my original reply... and I haven't been :baneed: yet. Either I got a free pass on this one or Dan hasn't seen this thread yet.

I'm not even gonna mention what I'm gonna spin tonight.

Nothing wrong with spinnin' a little Madonna...Back in the 80's when she first came out I saw the video for "LUCKY STAR" & fell in love... But back then being the huge metalhead that I was I kept that secret in the closet for a long time for fear of peer retaliation  . I bought all her 12" vinyl singles (which I still have), cd's, videos & even the SEX book....Oh & my favorite Madonna song is "INTO THE GROOVE"...

Well... I actually wasn't able to keep it in the closet. I actually went to see "The Virgin Tour". Talk about not fitting in...LOL. But I totally enjoyed the show. I think I have seen her something like 6 times.

"Into The Groove makes my top 5 beyond a doubt. OK... I better stop now.

Dire Straits as guilty pleasure? C'mon, their first three albums are rock classics. Great stuff indeed.
