  1. I think you did a good job describing this, some tracks remind of Wazbones, just not as melodic, unfortunately only a few tracks clicked for me after the first spin, but I'll give it another listen to see if it grows on me
  2. while not as good as Rest In Sleaze or Generation Wild I think it is a solid album and worth checking out
  3. thanks for creating the topic and to everyone for sharing their lists so far, some great albums from both the past and recent years, it has me inspired to pull a few of the ones mentioned out today, as I haven't spun them in awhile Here are a few that I like to listen to that I don't think had been mentioned yet Icon - Right Between The Eyes Fifth Angel - Time Will Tell L.A. Guns - S/T Eyes - S/T House of Lords - Demons Down Leatherwolf - Street Ready Danger Danger - Cockroach Saints and Sinners - S/T Bonfire - Fireworks Lillian Axe - Love and War Victory - Culture Killed The Native
  4. New video for the track 'Something About You'
  5. According to a post on the Pretty Maids FB page, vocalist Ronnie Atkins was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. https://www.facebook.com/prettymaids/ We are sorry to announce these bad newsOur brother Ronnie has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer…This means we will have to cancel all shows announced until the end of January 2020 and we’re all sorry for the inconvenience that might bring. Right now all plans are on hold, so for the moment we can’t say much more due to the current situation but we will keep you updated. ALL focus is now on Ronnie's health and undergoing treatment. We hope for your love and understanding. /Ken, Rene, Chris and Allan Ronnies open letter: STATEMENT It’s scary how your world can be turned upside down in a couple of weeks. I went to my doctor for a routine check complaining about some back pains in mid-August. I then went through numerous scans, bronchoscopy, biopsies etc. and spent a lot of time waiting for answers in uncertainty. And so finally three weeks ago I found myself diagnosed with lung cancer. Now this has by all means been a shock to me, my family and those close to me since it came totally unexpected without any typical symptoms and everything just happened and developed so fast lately. I’m already in treatment and underwent surgery two weeks ago, then spend some 10 days in hospital with pneumonia as a consequence apparently linked to the surgery. According to the medical staff my prospects are good considering it’s lung cancer. However, I will have to undertake further treatment the next couple of months to be on the safe side. This means that I unfortunately will have to step back from most musical activities concerts etc. for an indefinite period of time. I’m going into this with a positive mindset and with the continuing love and support from my family and friends I’m determined to battle this disease the best I can -God willing! LOVE ❤️ Ronnie Atkins
  6. Good tune, and much more to my liking musically when compared to the initial couple singles off the last album
  7. not amazing by any means, but better than the first two promo tracks
  8. sad news indeed, first Eddie and now Ric, quite the string of hits they both had during the 80's...I still spin the Cars debut regularly, great album...RIP Ric
  9. very good album and easily my favorite release of 2019, thus far
  10. Rivers is a talented guitarist but I've never been able to get into these guys and this track doesn't change that. By the way what happened to all the shredding that was mentioned, was there even a guitar solo?
  11. Sad news, he always came across as a very unassuming and cool guy, RIP Eddie
  12. Are Your Ready To Rock got me into the band and has remained my favorite from them. While their last 3 albums have all been very good, each release after Are You Ready has been a slight step down, for me. They've seemed to stick a little too close to the same formula and by the time I heard Monumentum it started to feel a little like been there done that. Based on these first two promo tracks I'm figuring this will be another slight step down. Are You Ready to Rock Bleed and Scream Armageddonize Monumentum
  13. I'm in agreement with you, the band shows potential, but the vocals just didn't seem powerful enough for the song
  14. I recall the singer who replaced John Corabi in The Scream being with a band called Dashboard Mary. But not sure if this is the band he was with or if they just went by the same name.
  15. That's one I've not heard before, thanks for sharing. Reminds me a little of Holy Soldier
  16. solid tune, as with the first single the style is similar to their prior releases, nice guitar solo too
  17. As Geoff mentioned, the lyrics of the first single seemed a little odd - I'm your unfinished cutie - not sure what that means, but overall the songs are sounding pretty good
  18. I appreciate you taking the time to expand on things. It helps with better understanding where you're coming from. Over the years, I've heard artists deny they were part of the scene because of others' negative opinions. As with most of the forum members, I've supported melodic/hard rock and AOR regardless of the trends. And hopefully you can relate to fans not wanting to hear someone whose music they've enjoyed try to distance themselves from the genre the fans associate with and are still passionate about.
