  1. I can hear elements of both of these in the second song as well and while it is better than the first song still pales in comparison to Screaming for Adrenaline, in my opinion
  2. Song is OK, but doesn't raise my expectations for the upcoming album. Ray's voice seems rather subdued when compared to their debut, but then again how many singers sound like they did 30 years earlier. New guitarist sounds pretty good and seems to fit right in
  3. Shogun's previously unreleased 3rd album is scheduled to be released this month as Volume 17 of Steelheart Records Lost UK Jewels series Promo write up from AOR Heaven site https://www.aorheaven.com/index.php/englisch_b/shogun-the-lost-album-digitally-remastered.html British melodic rockers SHOGUN recorded two great albums, the self‐titled debut (1985) and the more AOR‐oriented follow‐up called “31 Days” (1987). After the second album, the band entered the studio to record the proposed tracks for a third album, that unfortunately never saw the light of day, due to Jet Records closing their activity. So here’s finally the official release of this pre‐production Master, 13 long lost tracks of great AOR/Melodic Rock keys‐oriented, close to the style of early Bon Jovi / White Sister / Surgin and Survivor. This was a perfect amalgamation of their two albums Track list: 1. Night Games 2. Who Do You Think You Are 3. A Kick In The Heart 4. Aim Straight For The Heart 5. Give & Take 6. Poetry In Motion 7. Follow The Dream 8. Love’s A Bad Habit 9. Jump The Gun 10. Masquerade 11. Love Is A Lethal Weapon 12. Total Strangers 13. State Of Emergency
  4. Solid tune, Dino is a nice fit for the song and Tony shows off his ability without overplaying
  5. I thought the EP was solid, new track is pretty good as well, hopefully a full length album is in the works
  6. Great to see these guys back with some new material, nice tune
  7. New album looks to be on the way soon from Nitrate. Rob, Nick and Pete are back and will be joined by Marcus Thurston (Vega) on guitar and Phil Lindstrand on vocals Here is a recent comment from the band's FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Musician-Band/Nitrate-100323740377514/ Early mixes coming back from Pete Newdeck are sounding awesome. Hearing the vocals for the first time and they are outstanding. Enter Philip Lindstrandon lead vocals for Nitrate 2 can’t stop listening
  8. I thought the same about the samples and the steep price. These guys sound solid and seem to have a knack for writing big choruses. I did see it available from NEH Records for about half that price
  9. I dig that album cover as well. I'm just now reading of Tony's diagnosis, very sad news, such a terrible disease that takes too many too soon
  10. It's been years since I've seen these guys in concert, they used to put on a great show, glad to see that Brian might be back in the fold
  11. Not bad, but after hearing the Lep covers Tempt did not too long ago this one falls a bit short, especially with regards to the lead vocals
  12. I've been unable to get into the two prior SOTO releases. I much prefer hearing Jeff sing the more melodic stuff like Lost In Translation, Damage Control or his albums with W.E.T.. But I do think this new track is decent and Andrew's comment above gives me some hope that the upcoming release will be better.
  13. I enjoyed the new Queensryche also, just missed my early year top 5. I haven't heard your other two selections just yet, but have read mostly positive comments about the new DT and I recall Darkwater's last album, Where Stories End, being a good one, so I'll plan on giving those two albums a listen soon
  14. I don't think so, even though most of the potential standout releases are due out later in the year, it's always enjoyable to see what recent ones other people have enjoyed listening to. From what I've heard so far this year my favorites are: Roulette - Now! Flotsam and Jetsam - The End of Chaos Rain or Shine - The Darkest Part of Me The End Machine - S/T Temple Balls - Untamed I think for me the most notable releases have been the ones I've been disappointed with (Kane Roberts, Tora Tora, Tesla, and L.A. Guns) and although I don't consider any of those bad albums, I was expecting better having been a big fan of most of their prior releases.
  15. their comments about the new album being a bit heavier, darker with more depth lyrically was pretty accurate, they've retained their melodic style and the sound is still very much rooted in the late '80's/early '90's, from what I've heard so far I like it
  16. new song is a bit lackluster to say the least, sounds closer to a filler type ballad from an Axel Rudi Pell album than what I'd expect Hardline to release as a single/promo track
  17. I never heard this one before, sounds like a solid EP. They remind me a little of early L.A. Guns, thanks for sharing
  18. New track is a bit of a let down for me. Not Deen's best vocal performance and the song itself could use a better chorus
  19. If it isn't the Vandenberg track, maybe it's this classic from The Babys?
  20. A sentimental favorite of mine, I still have an old vinyl copy. They were one of the top bands where I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their drummer was later in Hericane Alice and Bangalore Choir while their guitarist joined Tyketto.
  21. Interesting, I've never heard that version of the song before, nor of the Poison Dollys, not bad. I had though heard about Gary Private's version of the song not too long ago, a much more 80's pop/new wave feel to it.
  22. I think this is a pretty good album. While it doesn't have much in common with 80's Dokken, it should appeal to most Lynch Mob fans. It isn't as good as Lynch Mob's first two releases, but I enjoyed it more than any of the albums Lynch Mob has put out over the last decade. My favorite tracks initially would be "Hold Me Down", "Ride It", "Bulletproof" and "Sleeping Voices"
  23. solid tune, has the band announced a release date for the next album yet?
  24. Nice, two albums that were in need of reissues, in my opinion. One with Rob Rock and the other with Jerome Mazza on vocals
