  1. I picked up the EP from Robbin last week (when I got this he mentioned that the # of copies he had left was limited) it is great music and now I will have to find the full length to compare the songs. Another Seattle band that went under the radar and according to Robbin they have more material in the can.
  2. Truly, if you have never seen them, you owe it to yourself to do so. If ever a group could sound as good if not better live than KX is it. Even you are not in love with them, they are phenominal musicians and look at the staying power...what like 20 years and still make the rounds every year! Buy Dug a shot of Petrone (sp) and watch the fun begin.
  3. Agreed 1 zillion %%%%!!!!!!! I have seen KX a half dozen times and they sound better and have more fun each time I see them! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Besides the venue sizes are teeny and they always do a meet and greet after! Btw: they are frickin' LOUD as well.
  4. 2 down falls to them are: if the cd spindles get busted you are forever screwed and the digipacs with the sleeves for cd storage are bad! Jewel cases avery day any day!
  5. Digging into Dean Koonts' Frankenstein book 1. And tis quite a page turner...
  6. Same here ! AGREED! That test pressing should be arriving in my mail box any day now!
  7. her singing voice is flat? is that what you mean... If he does not mean it than I do!
  8. I had a bitch of a time finding the early WASP releases on the Capitol pressing believe it or not it is OOP on Capitol who would have thought. It has been re-released on other labels. I have quite a few of those Snapper re-issues from a few years back, they are quite good, with loads of pix and extra tracks... Blind In Texas for me. Always have enjoyed WASP, but this song is just sweet!
  9. In the mail from one of those swarthy Greeks (Bless there little metal collecting hearts.): Dorian Lord-Keeper Of The Night Sykosis-Total Disregard Of Reality Apocolypse-S/T Killroy-Gem Murdock-Cry Inside Aris, I love you man! And from the band (2 promo demos): Shokkher-Plug Her In, Maker Her Scream & Burn Her Out (2 track) & Wanna Get Shokked & Demon Birth (2 track) Really cool band check 'em out here: Shokkher
  10. Jay, anyone help me with the "you'll shit bricks" one...
  11. One that pops into my mind immediately is Triumph. Both are talented musicians and great singers, similar yet different and both sang on a gaggle of hits throughout their career as a group. Kings X is a great one Shawn! Alice N' Chains shared a bit of lead vox. Georgia Satelites. Not only did all 3 members sing like birds, but swapped instruments: IE Dan Baird on drums, etc... Many many "modern bands" do this don't they ala Linkin Park? How's about Heart with the Wilson sisters? And Nelson. And if you want to get vintage, a good majority of the bands from the 50's and 60's had multiple vocalists. ANd speaking of that Holy Soldier live cd, which is a cool concept and it was great to see/hear the 2 vocalists singing their songs and a cool gesture for them to put their ego's aside and do it. Would it not be cool if other bands did this today on their "nostalgia" tours? Think Van Halen, Journey, Motley, etc.........
  12. Yep, and the mum looks like a drag queen in that photo. Certainly passable though.
  13. Bout time for an update Leykis. And as Charley and others have said, music is going to be around for you. She is a great mistress, never leaves, always there and man there is a song or 50 for every occasion, heartbreak, joy, etc... Bangin' whores is awesome and as Mr. Junnky points out repainting the bathroom walls is a fine fine substitute too. Redd Fox said it best when he said, "spend $100 on prostitute? Hell I went and got some vaseline took care of business myself, woke up the next morning with a smile on my face and $99 in my pocket." And tearing it up is a load of fun, but keeping a level clear head and preparing for battle is amazing therapy. I've learned that beating someone at the game using intellect and being soft spoken is the ultimate victory. Really hope things work out, for your daughters sake. Not saying to stick out a bad thing for the kid, but taking the high road will pay tenfold in your daughters eyes...Even though verbally abusing, insulting and mud flinging sure would feel good right now. Chin up brother.
  14. Agree, agree! The M-3, the first few solo records, the Floyds (Funk House) stuff, really intelligent, heartfelt, just amazing songs. Search out the live dvd and see for yourself the man is a true talent and it shows in his work. And correct me Dave if I am wrong, but I believe you were going with the who do you think co-writes and produces all the young angry popsters and if you were thinking Butch Walker then you are correct sir. On Pinks last cd Butch co-wrote a fistful and did some producing and I think played a bit. Southgang rarely spins and is not even in the same league as M-3! Lastly I lost touch with Master Walker after Left of Self Centered, but later enjoyed discovering Letters and this Let's go out Tonight cd is a good solid Walker-esque disc. It is no Ready, Sex, Go!, but still solid.
  15. I doubt that personally...but then again, she's closer to my age so ofcourse id pick her at least i didn't have to pay for mine. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I refuse to stand by and let this happen in front of me again. You are honestly going to sit there and tell me, after seeing those pics, you reckon she's had implants???? ANGER!!!! Not at you, Widda, just everyone in the world who has ever said she has implants. I am with you Geoff those are unaltered and they look pretty frickin' tasty to me, but hey, i've always been like Captatin James T. Kirk when it comes to the ladies...No blinder here! Tits are tits are tits, be them on a 20 some odd Britney or 50 some odd Madonnaor a whatever year old who ever. And come on Widda, Deliver the goods. I am sure we can pool up for some electrical tape or something...
  16. Being that it was on Broadway.....shouldn't that be a "CAT'S scan"........... NICE!!!!! Man I gotta find a little drummer rim shot smiley...
  17. Prove it. I mean, saw Brit's and for an apple to apple comparison, ahhh, uhhmmm, well you know. I walked right into that one. To give an idea, think grapefruit. mmmm grapefruit... So many many many different place to go with this one that I am going to respectfully bow out and let my compadres carry on with out me. I will however be checking in from time to time for photographic evidence of said claim and hopefully some inappropriate, but humorfull comments.
  18. *insert rim-shot smiley here* Nicely done sir and the Wham angle was perfection.
  19. Alas Geoffrey my good man, this is a great cd and the cool part about the 3 piece is that the singer/guitarist and bassist or brother and sister. But apart from the liner notes the band is a mysterie to me , sorry no new info... I got this disc from Paulo a little while back and you are correct, great melodic AOR and from what I understand a real mother to find! Another great unknown band.
  20. Prove it. I mean, saw Brit's and for an apple to apple comparison, ahhh, uhhmmm, well you know.
  21. According to Michaels' spokeswoman, the rock singer had X-rays taken after getting clocked in the head by a descending set piece at Sunday's Radio City Music Hall ceremony. Publicist Joann Mignano says Michaels, who performed with his 1980s hair-metal band Poison, fractured his nose and had to get three stitches in his lip. She says he was getting a CAT scan on Monday as a precaution, as he's had a past neck injury.
  22. Thank you sir, only 25,000 more to go...
  23. SUS I believe, very AIC like... And as Danny mentions and as the rumor goes if you want one of these bad enough get with Skotty and he will get one to you at a premium. Apparently they pressed 3,000 of these Ep's, that's right 3,000! So getting one should be pretty easy. Of note obtaining the 2 cassette only releases would be an amazing feet. And no I don't have them, but will soon have cdr's and J cards... I'm not sure how many were pressed, but the bass player himself told me he threw away an entire shitload of them before moving a long time ago. So they may have pressed 3000, but a LOT of them were thrown in the crapper many years ago. And all this talk about the Dancyr CD, I found it for 99 cents about 3 years ago and traded it away without a second thought. It was one of the most God awful CDs I've heard in my life! If anyone wants to hear it I'll gladly send them a copy. It has to be one of the worse high priced indies out there!!!!!!!! I love hearing stuff like this and the big question still remains, "what makes this cd (and so many others) so wanted and valuable?"
  24. Whats with all the limitations? Whats next, she can only be 5'2", blonde, blue eyes...no breast reductions, must be a Pisces, no kids, no wait 3 kids but alll birthed through c-section, her mothers maiden name must start with an e?????? There are way to many ladies out there to not leave the blinders off and partake in all the flavors. Thanks for that unsolicited, uninformed and otherwise useless advice there Dr. Phil... My pleasure, always glad to be of service.
  25. So I've heard, still 1,000 units is a pretty good run for a cd no-one cared for or about up until about a month ago. I would hazard a guess that a good number of the cd's are rotting into oblivion in a local landfill. down the nails, man! It's funny I was going to start a thread/debate about what drives peoples collecting and what makes the masses get all lathered up for one particular cd over another... I mean, I know that I have and I am sure many other folks here too, cd's that are amazing releases, much more limited releases and that have no Ebay rarity/$$$$$$ value. I mean when I bought/found that Villan cd in alocal pawn shop 3 years ago thier were 2 people on the board that new of it, posted comments about it and then *poof* nothing? I added the disc to the data base...*crickets chirping*. Let's discuss... i told mr. charly 'bout that dancyr...don't want to write it again...but to sum up: if a copy of dancyr of villan is going for $$$ these days, then riot's thundersteel should cost 777's factory in everett.... My point exactly Geo.
