  1. Who is the budgie in the corner?
  2. Yep, defininitely agree with you guys. The harder rocking side has definitely been removed from the equation here. I don't mind it as the best songs on his debut were the more medium paced ones, but I would have liked to see him still have a go at some harder rockers. For me the album is a little patchy, to be honest. It's all pretty good but there are a few songs which aren't really that great. But the highlights are brilliant. For me there are four clear, stand-out tracks which blow the rest of this album away and they are: 'No surprise', 'What I Meant to Say', 'Ghost of me' and 'Supernatural'. I think the CD could have done without the last 2 songs and a few more like 'Ghost of me'. Overall, good stuff.
  3. Well, my wife and I were both pretty sick over the weekend and spent a lot of time resting and watching DVDs. Sadly, I had to endure the bad for the good: 'Hairspray' ; f*ck me dead. The things I do for my lovely wife. 'Sex and the city: The Movie' ; I bought this and the box set for my wife for her brithday. She stormed through the box-set and I caught a few episodes. What can I say, I don't hate this stuff. It frustrates me that the writers paint this picture of a world where females are actually interested in sex and Samantha's character is ridiculous... but honestly I didn't mind watching the movie. 'Fight Club' ; been dying to see this again for ages as it's be soooo long. Goddamn this is a f*cking awesome film. Couldn't remember the "twist" at all as I have the worst memory ever. 'Seven Pounds' ; Goodness, what an excellent film. Sad, moving... magnificent. I didn't read or know anything about it and I was absolutely engrossed from the opening scene. What a film.
  4. I spent an entire 44 minutes pushing my CD back into the CD player after it kept spitting it out all the way to work, so all I heard this morning was the very first second of the first song of All Time Low's new CD as it finally started playing as I pulled into the MOTHERF*CKING CARPARK AT WORK!
  5. We close at 3pm every day but sure as f*ck every single day this stupid c*nt turns up at 3pm on the dot and spends the next half hour getting unloaded and making me not go home. F*ck you, man.
  6. The drugs seem to be wearing off now.
  7. Finally! Well, aren't they impressive. 'Hearts On The Highway' is an instant gem and I am loving 'Ghost of love'. My only slight thing would be that 'That's What I'm Talking About' is maybe lacking a bit of punch for a D2 rocker. But given the horrible song title, I'm just gleeful they pulled off an awesome song. Oh, and is it just me or does Marcello sound completely like 'Screw It!' era Timmons on that song? Can't wait to hear this thing in my CD player. Hoping it's maybe a little heavier than the samples suggest. Still they're f*cking awesome.
  8. Proof that God is not a christian. The lady I work with goes out for a toilet break at least twice every day (and if someone here's put some cool samples on offer I try to give them a quick listen while she's out) but since yesterday when Pete put these samples up she hasn't been once. Seriously, what the f*ck? She's blocked. Why does she not want me to hear this?
  9. Haha. Nice theory, Lindsay. From what I've seen and heard, though, even if he'd had that cash he'd probably have blown it anyway.
  10. Yeah, I agree mate. Just an example of how stupid people are. If an artist I know and enjoyed dies I will probably crank a CD to remember the good times, but these clowns who have an active part in post-death arrangements for people they have never met or known is as stupid as anything gets.
  11. Yeah, but seriously, I was watching the current (well, on Aussie TV anyway) series of 'So you think you can dance' and there was this song they played and I can't find it anywhere on the net after typing in the lyrics. It was a splendid modern pop rock tune... balladic, with the lyrics: Will you be there, when I come back home When I get back home Will you be there 'Cause my biggest fear is that you won't be waiting I'll be waiting for you Can anyone help a brother out?
  12. The drugs seem to be working well.
  13. Wow. R.I.P. that dude's ears.
  14. My fav on that too mate! Wow, you poor bastards. You got a version of this CD without 'When you see me again'? You simply must track that song down! 'Eyes of a panther' - Steel Panther ; one of the best straight up hard rockers since Skid Row's debut.
  15. Why are you comparing them to Fair Warning? Where did that come from? Sure FW's lyrics are awful, but I'd like to see you write a great song in German? Anyway, who is saying the new FW album is great? It's not - it's pretty horrible & I personally think the Steel Panther album is better, but I also think that a re-hashed 80's Hair Metal disc with some cool playing/singing but very few new ideas is not gonna make any Best Of list of mine. What I dont understand is how this is anymore 're-hashed' than say Marcello/Vestry? I mean that album had just about every 80's riff and lyrical cliche going and then some, yet everyone was raving about that?? OK, Party All Day is a complete rip off of Livin On A Prayer, but otherwise its only stylewise similar.....Im dying to hear the new Treat album, but I bet my house that is going to be just as re-hashed as SP. A-fucking-Men!!! That's been on my mind since the start but it's something I always forget to include. You are exactly right. As you say, there is only one direct, obvious and intentional rip-off. But to say these guys are any less original than every other band in the scene today is total and utter bullshit. And for the record, like everyone else I adore Marcello / Vestry too. But Steel Panther have not borrowed any more than any single other MHR band still recording these days. Wow mate, you completely missed my point there. No comparisons between the two bands at all. All I was saying, that if someone (not you 'cause I know you're all onto the Killswitch Engage disc) put that FW disc at the top of their list for 2009 (insert any other 2009 release too), that'd be their choice. I just don't understand why people cannot handle the fact that there are people out there who genuinely think SP is the best CD of the year. Just for my info, you don't like stuff like Skid Row, do you?
  16. Absolutely awesome, Chris. Nice work mate!!!
  17. Geoff

    Is it ?

I don't believe that this whole blu-ray thing is really taking off like some assumed it would. Or is it just that I don't have one yet?
  18. The fuckin' flu has caught up with me - fuck you.
  19. Solna - 'Eurameric' Steel Panther - 'Feel the steel'
  20. Arm, why do you are yourself with my arm?
  21. Matty-Boo has done it once again. From the chump who turned me onto Edguy, he recently displayed this album to me: http://cdbaby.com/cd/solna2 Tracks: 1 Ms. Eurameric 2 Blinded By the Rain 3 Celebrate (feat. Primal Fear's Ralf Scheepers) 4 Where Are You Running (feat. Rob De Luca) 5 Feel Alive (feat. Pamela Moore & Ralf Scheepers) 6 Someone Else 7 Moment of Truth 8 Woman in Love 9 Light a Candle 10 Sent From Heaven 11 Dreams In all honesty it's not perfect and the vocals are really an aquired taste... but I actually like them. Track 5 is a duet with a lady (not good at all) and after that I kept thinking there were other songs that were duets with females, as his voice is very, very feminine. But kind of cool too... almost a little like James LaBrie. Anyway, the first few songs are great but wait till you guys here 'Where are you running'! One of the best songs I have heard all year, hands down. Stunning. And 'Light a candle' is another highlight. Overall, I think this is going to please a lot of people. Good, ballsy hard rock.
  22. Thanks cousin. Let's party like it's 1865!
