  1. I think the UK is one of their biggest markets. Can't even tell you off the top of my head how many times I have seen them. Only stopped going to their gigs because their ticket prices started getting lumpy and the last few times I saw them they kept doing the same jokes in between songs.
  2. Finally announced https://steelpantherrocks.com/blogs/news/announcing-our-new-bassist
  3. Different situation. Rock sugar record the songs themselves so can rewrite parts of the music to make them fit better (and they have two albums as they released a digital only album last year) What Bill and the likes of Wax Audio (who has been going the same length of time as Rock Sugar) do is mix the original tracks, which in many ways is actually trickier. I love Rock Sugar and what they do, but for me these mash ups done by Bill and Wax Audio are on another level.
  4. Only interested in hearing Call me as the other two songs are on the second album, Never say never and I would hazard a guess that the acoustic version of More than words can say is the version that appeared on the first volume of VH1 Metal Mania Stripped.
  5. It's one of those treatments that is not a quick fix. He had his third surgery in August as the surgery before that had to put some kind of oil in his eye and remove the lens or something like that, and it had to stay in his eye for six months then they removed the oil in August and replaced the lens, I believe. Have seen videos of him without the patch, so I believe he wears it on and off.
  6. These are not the same recordings as on the debut, so could just be they never did the rougher version. Could be anything really. Not sure rights would be an issue as this is the same label that released the boxset of all three albums, and that included both the original version on the debut and a live version too.
  7. Mine just came through the door, and yeah got the same signed card. The first disc is mostly On target, but there are three songs that did not appear on the original, and Doin the dance is missing.
  8. Electric Callboy - Tekkno Bangalore Choir - Beyond target
  9. Ordinary man was a fantastic album only let down by that horrible collaboration with Post Malone (It's a raid). The second collab with him which I think was a bonus track (Take what you want) or something was not as bad, but still weak compared to the rest of the album. The collab with Elton John though was how collabs should work. Gonna pick the new one up soon. Just too much going on right now.
  10. Typical Frontiers these days. Gone are the days we got actual bonus tracks, replaced by acoustic, piano or live versions etc
  11. Gah, the search function on this site failed me. Searched "About us" including the quotation marks and it came back with nothing, so posted in the music video forum earlier.
  12. Without sounding like I am taking a dig at the guy who started this topic, but I think his take on these entries kinda encapsulates what you are saying without the crappy low/high votes. We could all go through the site and pull up lists like these over underrated or overrated albums, but it is all personal choice. Just to take one example from that list, Treat - Coup De Grace. I like Treat and have most of their albums apart from a few recent ones and CDG just never did it for me. It's all very well played and all that, but it just did not hook me like Organized crime, for instance. Whatever I rate it at, is just my personal choice just as it is his choice to rate it higher than I would. There are also albums I would rank incredibly high and other people would probably say 50% or lower. Not my place to question them as we obviously have differing tastes. As Dan said though, I think the rating system these days is pretty much redundant as it always seems to be the same handful of people scoring them. And when you only have maybe 5 or 6 people doing the ratings, it only takes one person with a different opinion to make an album drop down the ratings heavily.
  13. Frontiers Music srl · Happy 3rd Anniversary to The Defiants excellent sophomore album, "Zokusho"! What's your favorite track on this one? The Defiants #3 coming in 2023!
  14. Ordered it from here as I don't speak French https://www.thestoreformusic.com/shop.php#!/Bangalore-Choir-Beyond-Target-The-Demos-This-extremely-limited-edition-is-only-available-by-mail-order-directly-from-Global-Rock-Records-The-Store-For-Music/p/490467611/category=10531011
  15. I think Michael has pretty much disowned that album/band. I don't think he was happy with the final release due to record label interference and he was pissed off with Steve for leaving him to go to work for Vince Neil, a guy Michael has no love for obviously.
  16. http://metalsludge.tv/reunited-hanoi-rocks-to-reunite-original-line-up-to-celebrate-michael-monroes-60th-birthday-at-concert-in-helsinki-finland/ http://metalsludge.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Hanoi_Rocks_Sept_2022_1.jpg Hanoi Rocks Blabbermouth — Michael Monroe, who turned 60 in June, will celebrate the milestone with a bang at the Helsinki Ice Hall on September 23. Now Monroe has revealed the big news: as the grand finale of the concert, the original lineup of HANOI ROCKS, one of Finland’s most significant rock bands of all time, will take the stage: Monroe, Andy McCoy, Sami Yaffa, Nasty Suicide and Gyp Casino. The quintet, which started a historic chapter in the world’s music scene, was seen on stage for the last time at Helsinki’s Tavastia on July 27, 1982. Internationally acclaimed throughout their career, HANOI ROCKS has had a great impact on the history of rock. Several international bands, such as FOO FIGHTERS, GUNS N’ ROSES and SKID ROW, acknowledge the influence of HANOI ROCKS and hold the band in very high regard. For decades there has been an endless amount of requests to reform the original lineup and for the legendary band to perform live. An idea that has previously seemed impossible is now becoming a reality at Monroe‘s 60th-birthday concert. “This is the only appropriate time and place for all five original members of HANOI ROCKS to get on stage to play together after a break of over forty years,” says Michael. “This is not a HANOI ROCKS reunion, but a unique part of the anniversary concert. At first I planned to keep it a surprise but after giving it some more thought, I realized that it wouldn’t be fair, especially to the fans, not to make this public in advance and that everybody should have the chance to be there.” Monroe and McCoy founded HANOI ROCKS in the late 1970s and the band’s original lineup was established in 1980. HANOI ROCKS, the first Finnish rock band to make an international breakthrough, recorded their first three albums with the original lineup: “Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks” (1981),“Oriental Beat” (1982) and “Self Destruction Blues” (1982). Casino was replaced in 1982 by Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley who became an integral member of HANOI ROCKS. Razzle died in a tragic accident in 1984. Unfortunately, this led to the band’s untimely demise in early 1985. Another big surprise for the unique 60th-birthday concert is that the “support band” for the show will be the legendary DEMOLITION 23 reunited. Led by Monroe, the band rose to great cult fame, although they only released one album (“Demolition 23”) in 1994 and broke up shortly afterwards. This is the first performance of the band since the band’s breakup in 1995. Also of note is that the Demolition 23 album is to be reissued on CD and Vinyl on 14th October 2022, featuring 3 extra demo tracks https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Demolition-23/dp/B09NH3B9QL/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Demolition+23&qid=1662603277&sr=8-1 1 Nothin's Alright 2 Hammersmith Palais 3 The Scum Lives On 4 Dysfunctional 5 Ain't Nothin' To Do 6 I Wanna Be Loved 7 You Crucified Me 8 Same Shit Different Day 9 Endangered Species 10 Deadtime Stories 11 Hammersmith Palais (demo) 12 Dysfunctional (demo) 13 The Scum Lives On (demo)
  17. Of the big four of thrash, Megadeth has long been my fave followed closely by Anthrax, but in the last decade or so, for me Anthrax had released the better albums. Megadeth's albums were good, don't get me wrong, but they really lacked those big stand out songs that older albums were full of. It was a given that I was gonna buy this as soon as I could anyway, but the singles that were released prior to the album coming out had me more excited than I have been for a Megadeth album in quite some time, and it does not disappoint. It is just killer track after killer track with some of the best guitar work on a Deth album in years. Dave still sounds his venom spitting best as well. So many stand out tracks on this one already. Easily one of my top albums this year. Welcome back Megadeth.
  18. Bonus track is a re-recorded or remastered song that was on the Early years album
  19. I ordered the CD from Amazon UK and got the digital copy around midnight last night and CD showed up this afternoon. Surprised to find there are actually two extra tracks on the digital version. This song with Sammy and a Dead Kennedys cover song, Police truck. Someone has submitted a European version of the CD on Discogs with these tracks and an extra live track, but I cannot find this version anywhere. Anyway, luckily Amazon provided the bonus studio tracks and could not care less about live tracks.
