  1. Forgot to mention this here, but last month I was officially declared as in remission.
  2. Hope he makes a full recovery. If it was me, I would change next years tour name to Operation Heartcrime.
  3. May sound weird, but while Prisoners is easily my fave album by them, my fave song is The Beast from latter day Europe. But Prisoners is without a doubt their best album start to finish.
  4. Have to take that interview with a pinch of salt. Firstly because John said they have tried metal and tried grunge, but none of their albums are really either of those. They are just "modern" sounding which pretty much takes a small pinch of everything really. Yes songs like The Beast are about as close to metal as they have done, none of their albums scream metal or grunge. I also don't think you can really take much from anything John says as he is not the one controlling the band, that is Joey. Think I have said this story before, but a friend of mine is a huge Europe fan and she used to go to all their gigs and even hung out with them a few times. She was a massive fan of John but she said Joey was a lot tougher to get to know as he was like a dictator in the band. He said jump and John (and the others) said how high? I don't think Joey is a bad person or anything like that, just that he likes to run the band how he likes it. And with what Geoffrey just said, it does not matter what Ian hints at with how happy he might be with newer material, he knows what side his bread his buttered on and stays with the band. If he hated it that much, why doesn't he leave? Mostly because he knows this is where he is best off. He has worked with other artists like Glenn Hughes etc over the years, so he knows there is work out there for him, but he must feel that Europe is the best place for him.
  5. Haven't bought as many albums as I would have liked to due to lack of funds from not working, but those I have bought I have enjoyed them all. Could not put them in order though as I go back and forwards on a few of them. Of the albums I have bought, these are the best Chez Kane Megadeth Girish & The Chronicles Bloodywood Electric Callboy Black Swan Billy Idol (EP) Halestorm Fozzy New Horizon Durbin Nickleback Reckless Love Scorpions Thunder There are four albums that stood out of those though, and as I say I go back and forward on which one would be number one, and to be honest any one of these could take the top spot on any given day Chez Kane, Megadeth, Scorpions & Reckless Love
  6. Gotta disagree there. This is song has their biggest hooks in years. My biggest problem with the last two albums were they were just "lets capture our classic sound" but forgot to write hooks. This though stuck in my head after first listen.
  7. I was reading recently that Paul actually discovered her when she was 11 years old and has been guiding her ever since. Sure her father has helped her develop as a musician too, but cannot hurt to have someone as respected in the community on your side as well. Oh and on a side note, it's a royal pain in the arse that the only way to buy her CDs is on her webite and one is only available to Australia and the other to the USA. I don't get why artists limit their reach like this. If people are willing to pay international postage and it's not a country known for "missing" items, then fucking ship to them.
  8. Honestly, if this is his second heart attack I think it is time to call it quits as a drummer as it is easily the most physical instrument to play in the band and must put a lot of stress on his heart. Not something you wanna think about as a drummer, having to give up what you love, but better to give that up than give your life.
  9. Love these guys. They don't take themselves seriously with their joke back story, but their music is fun as hell. First album was great but the second was even better, so hope for big things from the third.
  10. The situation gets more comical by the day. Now gone from Lynch saying he was gonna take legal action against them to them taking legal action against him https://metalsludge.tv/hired-guns-file-lawsuit-autograph-founding-guitarist-steve-lynch-is-being-sued-by-the-very-musicians-he-hired-into-the-group/ Just call it a fucking day and act like adults. Change the band name to Signature or something.
  11. Many centuries ago (2001 to be precise) I bought tickets to see LA Guns and Faster Pussycat play the Camden Underworld, a small venue in London. At the last minute Faster Pussycat pulled out. No excuse given that I remember, just pulled out. Still went to see the show as I was mainly going to see LA Guns anyway, and the replacement for FP was Steevi "Tigertailz" Jaimz. Both LA Guns and Steevi were amazing. Fast forward to 2022, just five months later, Faster Pussycat announced they wanted to make it up to fans and did a show at the same venue with Pretty Boy Floyd supporting. Pretty Boy Floyd absolutely stole the show as FP came out looking like Marilyn Manson if you ordered him off Wish dot com. They looked and sounded terrible. Not only was it that awful industrial shit, but Taime seemed like he was off his head on something, slurring and forgetting words and had all the stage presence of a hobo shitting in a trash can. Thank fuck the tickets were cheap.
  12. This is from Simon Daniels personal Facebook page: I never post about internal affairs on social media, but since we are being brutally attacked by Steve Lynch, Forgive me for being forced to lower myself to this level, but I see no other way to defend ourselves at this point. We were made equal partners with equal rights by Steve Lynch in 2014. In the last nine years, he loved us for what we did until he decided to quit and leave us high and dry in 2019 including Randy. He waited for Randy to pass to terminate our work for no other reason than to harm us. I’m not gonna elaborate more. Not up for discussion.. We’re not looking for any drama on line and let the legal process which was initiated by Steve Lynch days after Randy’s passing take it’s course. Blessings Also, in a question from someone as to are they still allowed to use the name and perform the songs now there are no originals left, he said yes as anyone can perform those songs (no mention of the name usage) live, but that they are now performing 80% new material on stage these days. If that is not reason enough to not see a band called Autograph, I dunno what is. I get someone like David Lee Roth would not wanna perform Sammy era VH songs, but if you go out there under the name Autograph, regardless of who is in the band, you have to accept that fans wanna hear the classics, not the new stuff most people have never even heard. Imagine Def Leppard going out on tour and only performing stuff released after Sparkle lounge.
  13. Doesn't sound like Kill em all to me, sounds more somewhere between the classic sound and the commercial sound of the Black album, plus the main riff is pure "Stone cold crazy" by Queen mixed with a bit of Ramones. And nothing wrong with the drums as far as I can hear.
  14. Photo credit: Tim Saccenti Metallica dropped an atomic bomb this morning, announcing the brand new album 72 Seasons and sharing the first single, “Lux Æterna”. “Lux Æterna” is old school thrash, picking right up where Hardwired… to Self-Destruct left off, only this time, guitarist Kirk Hammett was involved in the writing. 72 Seasons will be available April 14, 2023, via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with founding members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track album is Metallica’s first full length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. Here’s the track listing for 72 Seasons: 01. 72 Seasons 02. Shadows Follow 03. Screaming Suicide 04. Sleepwalk My Life Away 05. You Must Burn! 06. Lux Æterna 07. Crown Of Barbed Wire 08. Chasing Light 09. If Darkness Had A Son 10. Too Far Gone? 11. Room Of Mirrors 12. Inamorata “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves,” said Hetfield of the album’s title. “The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.” https://bloody-disgusting.com/music/3741721/metallica-returns-with-new-album-single-and-tour/
  15. The Jabberwocky songs have been knocking around for quite some time now, but I agree, being the kind of guy he was, I bet there is even more hidden away somewhere.
  16. I first heard this a few years ago, and it has probably been discussed on here before but the search function throws up everything when you search for Jani or Serial Killer. I had liked the song The one that got away on Alice Coopers Along came a spider album, and one day a few years ago I found out it was originally an unreleased Jani Lane song. Being a huge Jani fan I have just been wishing that all the unreleased stuff I have heard over the years would get a remaster and a proper release as he was one hell of a song writer and singer. This though sounds fully produced. Also found an old interview from 2010 where Jani discussed working with Alice on his (then) upcoming Welcome 2 my nightmare album, but sadly looking at the writing credits, they went in a different direction as there are no Jani writing credits. I wonder if there are any unreleased Alice Cooper songs from those writing sessions?
  17. I think it is one of those things that it became the fashionable thing to do. I bet a lot of people that hate on them secretly listen to them. It's almost like some people are afraid to admit they are fans because they think they will get thrown in the town stocks and have tomatoes and eggs thrown at them. Could not give a rats arse what anyone thinks, if I enjoy something I will admit it, whether that is music, movies, tv shows or computer games. It's also why I will never say I have any "guilty pleasures". Why should I feel guilty about liking something just because all the cool kids hate it (or pretend to)?
  18. That's pretty standard practice though and has been for years. Remember when Gene Simmons would always hype up any new album as the greatest thing ever, and these days he will do everything to insult the 80s ones. And don't even get me started on Michael Sweet and his constant high praise of every new album Stryper releases, and then gets pissed off if anyone says they prefer Against the law or In god we trust.
