  1. Glad to hear you finally got your hands on it! So what style of music is this? Any comparisons?
  2. 'Amore' is avaliable at the bands website. Not my favourite of theirs, but good all the same Awesome! Thanks Jez! Ordered it straight away. Does anyone have the Both Sides Live Album? Is it any good?
  3. Yeah awesome band. Nervous Night and One Way Home and particularly excellent. I still don't have their first album 'Amore' which I think was released on CD in 2001. I've only seen it once but it was too expensive for me.

    Shire

Hey mate thanks for the reply asd the offer. I've found a really cheap vinyl copy here in Australia so I'll pick it up and rip the songs to my PC.
  5. Brian, thanks for the reply. I did a quick search for those two tracks your after and it seems your not the only keen to get your hands on them. There's messages on forums all over the place asking about those tracks. I did find reference to them over at the MusicMight (previously AKA RockDetector) website which lists these two tracks as tracks 10 and 11 on a particular pressing of the Future Wrold LP. The pressing info is: CBS - BFE 40713 00 1987 No. 22 SWEDEN It's probably only a matter time before the two tracks show up as B'Sides or bonus tracks on a Pretty Maids release anyway. Good luck with the search.

    Shire

Another one for you guys...does anyone know anything about this band Shire who released a 5 track EP/mini LP in 1984 on Enigma Rosa Records? It was produced by Don Dokken & Michael Wagner, is it any good? Was it ever released on CD?
  7. I'm hoping you guys can help out with this one. Was the Pretty Maids debut released on CD with the original red cover or is it only available on CD with the brown cover? red cover brown cover
  8. Assume they changed their name because: 1. it was a shit name, and 2. it was also the name of a Death Metal band! I remember the hype about this band in the 80's, but the album isn't that spectacular IMO. Glen's definitely right, Orion the Huner is a much better example of classic AOR than this uneven disc is.... Yeah Orion The Hunter is awesome but I consider it to be a different style all together than Dragon. Dragon really is just a melodic pop/rock/pub rock band, I probably wouldn't give them the AOR label. I admit Dragon had some average sounding songs but when they were good they were really good. I could compile an awesome best of disc of Dragon/Marc Hunter material. Maybe I'll do that?
  9. A great album for sure! If you like this you must check out more stuff by Dragon and Marc Hunters solo stuff. Some interesting facts about this album from AusRock: "In 1987 Dragon toured Europe as support to Tina Turner. They were under the impression that the "Dragon" name would make them sound like a heavy metal band, their name was changed to Hunter for the tour. "Dreams Of Ordinary Men" was released in Europe and the US under the name Hunter, with a different cover and three bonus songs. "Rain" was added to the track list, and all of the songs, except "Midnight Sun" and "Start It Up" were remixed in the US. They all sound different to the Aussie originals."
  10. Saw him live on the Gold Coast last year, great singer and a very cool guy. Hope he makes another trip to Australia soon. Though his latest 2 solo albums, the "Mr Vocalist" albums, both are very very wussy!

    Bon Jovi

Wow! Looks like it's now well over 4 pages of results. I see the news has spread to at least one big Australian radio station as well (Triple M in Adelaide).
  12. I don't have the Cadillac Bratz CD so can't comment on that, but I've been done once before by a seller who put a scan of the rear artwork in the case. The front original, the CD original, but the rear insert a poor quality scan. They don't tell you this of course! I only discovered this when I was changing the jewel case and saw the "kodak" words printed on the back of the rear artwork. I think a lot of people went through a phase some years ago when CD binders/wallets were becoming popular and stored/threw out all the rear artwork so they could put their CD's and front artwork into binders. I think for this reason there is a lot of CD's circulating out there missing the original rear artwork. I saw an E-bay seller recently trying to sell a huge pile of original rear inserts for hard rock bands.

Well guys, I've played thice twice now. I can hear 6 songs that'd I'd be happy to keep playing and 4 that don't interest me much at all. Ageed that 'Say What You Will' is a killer modern rock ballad and by miles the highlight of the album for me. My next fav is 'Surefire'. 'I've Been Here Before' was actually one of tracks that stood out the most on my first listen. I'd have to disagree with you Lennie, in that I really don't enjoy 'Physics' much at all. I didn't mind 'Me Or The Music' reminded me of something The Click Five would do. Here's my order (best to worst): 5. Say What You Will 6. Surefire 7. Ive Been Here Before 4. Up Against 2. Stop Me When Youve Had Enough 8. Me Or The Music 1. The Hits Keep Coming 3. Physics 9. Youve Got Some Nerve 10. Sweet Oblivion
  14. Agreed, I absolutely hate people that throw shit out the car window. But taking down the number plates? Who do you tell and does any punishment get put on the little dick heads?
  15. Sounds awesome!!! 'Forgotten' is my fav of the MySpace samples but all four songs are pretty kick-ass. Looking forward to hearing an album. Nice find!
  16. That's often the trouble isn't it - finding the time to listen to them. A nice bunch of CD's there.

    Bon Jovi

I've got to say as much as I think this is a low act by Bon Jovi (or his lawyers), I'm not at all suprised. I bet this sorta stuff goes on a lot more than we hear about from big bands. I could understand them taking this course of action if Blonde Jovi were on the brink of breaking huge and becoming competetive with Bon Jovi, but they're a small time tribute band for gods sake. I wonder if Blonde Jovi will still want to continue paying tribute to Bon Jovi. It must to be hard to get up on stage and pay tribute to someone who screwed you over like that.
  18. Yeah a patchy album, my favs are 'Take Me Now', 'Birthday' and 'Secret'.
  19. Track 11 'Your Guardian Angel' is just stunning. According to Wikipedia: ""Your Guardian Angel" is a single by the band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. There are two different versions - a mostly acoustic version found on their first major-label album, Don't You Fake It, and a completely acoustic version (title "The Acoustic Song") on their demo album. It is the third single released by the band, with the video released on October 15, 2007. It was featured in the season finale of the CBS show Moonlight titled "Mortal Cure". According to Ronnie Winter, the song is dedicated to the eight students that lost their lives in the March 1, 2007 Tornado that destroyed a high school in Enterprise, AL"
  20. JSS - Beautiful Mess is debateable, the digital release was 08 but the physical CD was 09. Though I did include it in my best of 08 list so maybe I should leave it off this years list. But who cares.
  21. A few standouts so far: Saxon - Into The Labyrinth Place Vendome - Streets of fire Bad Habit - Above and beyond Eye - 2 Hearts JSS - Beautiful Mess Fallbrooke - s/t
  22. So where should I start with this band...get the debut and work from there or should I pick up a later disc first?
  23. Picked this disc up today, new at JB HiFi for $9. Great stuff!
  24. I know not many (if any) were interested in this festival, but I'll update anyway, the festival has been postponed til Sept/Oct this year. Good news is this allows more time to announce additional headliners...so it will be interesting to see who else gets included on the bill. Here's the statement from the website: "MTD4 and Blade Promotions after consultation with the venues and major stakeholders including the International Artists, have decided that it is in the best interest of all parties concerned to postpone the event to Sept/Oct this year. The new dates will be advised as soon as possible. We anticipate announcing additional headline bands to join those previously listed as the postponement allows us to restore the event to our original concept including multiple stages, all ages ticketing and camping at all sites. We apologise if this postponement causes any inconvenience to those that have already purchased tickets to our event and encourage them to contact us directly - contact@rockoutfestivals.com.au Thank You Rock Out Festivals - Music To Die For - Blade Promotions"
