  1. The Poodles - Clash Of The Elements (about as good as I hoped it would be. only one spin tho).
  2. The Poodles - Clash Of The Elements The Veer Union - Against The Grain Nural - Entitlement Johnny Lima - Livin Out Loud Pretty Maids - Jump The Gun
  3. Poison B side you mean...... There a few absolute killers on this album tho. I should walk away but this type of nonsense needs to be addressed. Some facts: 1. I love Poison and Slaughter and I despise 'Wildflower'. If Poison or Slaughter ever recorded a song like that I would never have been a fan. That's all Lima's doing... don't try dragging good bands into that mess. 2. Weakest Slaughter and Poison songs > best Lima has ever recorded. No offence to the dude as I like him and he has a handful of good songs... but not that good. Oh come on mate, even you cant say that the 'Wild Flower' chorus isnt akin to the Poison sound. It sounds like a track which didnt make 'Open Up..............' & for the record I actually quite like most of the Poison releases (esp 'Flesh & Blood) but just havent played them for ages. Your point 2 is bollocks tho......im not even going to discuss that.
  4. Weird mate, Nordic?? All I heard on Sweet Trade was awesome melodic hard rock. Im spinning Sweet Trade as we speak and if the 2nd side is Nordic Im a monkey's uncle. LOL. Looking forward to playing the newie. I hear what Geoff is saying with the Nordic. I'd call it more Power Metal without the fast as hell drums. But the themes and melodies remind me of Power Metal without all the Opera/Symphonic stuff. I'm with Lennie/Glen (why the name change?) It's a killer disc, especially the second half of it. Yeah, I 100% stand by my comments on the "nordic" sound of most of that disc. If I do recall rightly so there were some half decent rockers towards the end, and the ballad was excellent. But there was a whole lot of shit on that disc, and imo the decent rockers at the end weren't really that good. I will whip it out and give it a spin again, though. Maybe. Just for you guys. Either way, I own the debut and will certainly buy the new disc but I can't see me ever having 'Sweet Trade' in my collection. 'the decent rockers at the end weren't really that good' Ha, you do really make me laugh sometimes...those 3 rockers are excellent MHR mate. You need to get that fluff out of your ears. LOL. As for the newie.....spun it this morning and for me its just a continuation of the last 2 (as Jez rightly stated). Soundwise almost exactly what you would expect of a Scandi melodic rock band. There are a couple of awesome rockers towards the end and in general this is probably (just) their best release. Certainly better than the patchy debut which whilst having about 5 awesome rockers also had a whole bunch of shitty filler as well. One of the best in the MHR field in 09 for sure. Cheers
  5. You 2 are about the only people I know that dont love this album. Weirdos.
  6. More of an AOR Bad Co. vibe going on Ah. Maybe I'll just save my money & spin "Indiscreet" instead. Shit ignore the Bad Company comment - I cant stand them. Wildlife is an awesome album. Not a filler in sight. I actually prefer this to FM truth be told. 'Somewhere In The Night' is my fav Overland song, bar none. get it.
  7. One of the best songs off the album for sure.
  8. The Poodles - Kiss Goodbye (f excellent.....I dont care what anyone says, this songs f rocks).
  9. Weird mate, Nordic?? All I heard on Sweet Trade was awesome melodic hard rock. Im spinning Sweet Trade as we speak and if the 2nd side is Nordic Im a monkey's uncle. LOL. Looking forward to playing the newie.
  10. yeah i heard these guys on myspace - havent checked out the album yet. Sounds interesting tho
  11. Yeah but what you did hear with Revelation was the closest theyve come to the classic Journey sound that I love (ie Infinity, Evolution etc) for many a year....so that was just fine and dandy for me. Agree tho that i'd like to hear a more rocking record next time.
  12. Pretty Maids - Sin Decade Pretty Maids - Jump The Gun Pretty Maids - Waking Up In The Real World
  13. Poison B side you mean...... There a few absolute killers on this album tho.
  14. Don't you live in England? how the hell do all you guys in different countrys get to see American tv? we can't watch british and aussie tv over hear, that I know of, what gives? We get some of your primetime stuff. I wouldn't complain that you don't get to see any of our shows - or stuff from Oz - most of it is terrible. I think we get American Idol a couple of days after you see it, as I read who had won in the newspaper the day before I watched the show! Most of the US shows air on Sky One or some other sat channel a few months after theyve run in the US. BG, 24, Idol, Dexter, The Unit etc etc
  15. Well given that I doubt he's a big personality/ego and probably doesn't get much say in anything regarding the bands direction then I reckon quite a few albums. Any vocalist that is just happy to sing his songs then go home, without being involved in writing/producing etc probably has a longer future than one with any ideas (i.e, JSS).... Neal Schon could drive the Pope out of the vatican, now Im careful because I don't know him, but reading nothing but negative about someone(outside of politics) is generally a good indication of something! but I hear what your saying, as long as he's their good little bitch, and does only what he's told when he's told to, I guess that's a good case for him staying! But being a good little bitch as you put it, didn't keep Bruce Kullick and Eric Singer's jobs in Kiss. Sure Eric got to come back but he has to wear Peter's makeup and probably has to sign all autographs as "Peter Criss". I wonder if Gene and Paul makes him introduce himself as Peter and talk in his best Brooklyn accent so fans think he's Peter. That's funny, because I thought artistically, Revenge was the most sound Kiss album they ever did, and IMO the last quality Kiss album recorded, at least the last one I purchased, but I think the Journey thing could turn on its end real quick, that vocalist has already got what he needs, he could pretty much go do anything he wants now, he already got what he needed out of Journey. Sorry mate I dont agree...From what ive read Pineda is well happy with Journey and Schon / Cain are in the process of writing new material for a 'rocking' new album. Im hoping for something a little heavier than 'Revelations' next time round. That would be great....more Frontiers styled. Anyway how many records do you think have left in them? One..two?? I mean Schon's getting on a bit now. I would say 2 more albums and tours tops before they call it quits. My bet is that Pineda will be on both of them.
  16. Sturm Und Drang - Sinner One of the most rocking tunes of 2008.
  17. Sorry but imo Lambert would be much better for Queen than JSS. I love JSS but Lambert has one of the best singing voices and range that I have ever heard. Bar none. The guy is phenomenon. However, that said I hope he doesnt join Queen - that would be a true waste of talent as they are over...finished. They should have left it be after Mercury died. What I want is for Lambert to record a rock record of original material. That would be awesome. I'd buy it for sure....
  18. Yeah dont listen to Geoff, the second half is really good too. This and Nural are the two best for me in the modern ratings. Until July that is..............
  19. wrong thread?? I Dont Want To Cry - Diving For Pearls
  20. Another song from the album called 'Dirty Little Thing'.......pretty shit quality but you can appreciate how kick arse this will be with a big beefy production!
  21. Place Vendome - Place Vendome
