  1. Andrew, Have you heard the complete album? Man I am dying to hear this.....I labelled this earlier in the year as a potential album of the year in the MHR stakes. As regards JSS and Journey........never sat completely right for me either. I Love JSS and think he has a brilliant stage presence but something just didnt click. Pineda is a better fit for them IMO. Plus from a purely selfish view point I want to hear JSS creating his own music. 'Beautiful Mess' was brilliant for me. & now this W.E.T. collaberation could and should be even better! Cheers
  2. Nural - Entitlement (still magnificent!) Johnny Lima - Livin Out Loud
  3. Wow, what debate? This for me is a no brainer. I do really like 'Arrival' and it has some great songs, but for me 'Revelation' is Journey's best album since 'Frontiers' and a massive return to form for the band. So 'Revelation' easily wins that one. Now to the singers......I like Augeri's singing style and it suited Journey. He does a stellar job on 'Arrival'. However, live is where is counts my friends, and live Im afraid is where Augeri can no longer cut it. When I saw Augeri at Manchester a couple of years back I was in the 10th row and thought his performance was fantastic - he hit every note with ease - I was blown away. Then the clip tape stories hit the internet. At first I didnt believe these stories cos I reckoned I knew when someone was miming or using a clip tape - I mean after 20 years of seeing gigs I reckoned I knew what was real and what wasnt........ But then I saw Augeri at FF last year playing with Tall Stories and fuck me if that performance wasnt abysmal. I mean truly shocking beyond belief. The guy just cannot sing. Whereas I have to say that Pineda's vocal peformance at Hammy Odeon last year was nothing short of stunning. His 'Faithfully' was 100% spot on. Pindea for me by a country mile.
  4. Ha ha, we nearly always disagree on these modern albums. I bet my bottom (Aussie) dollar the mistake you are going to make with this album is to whack tracks 2,3,5 & 6 on your ipod and then for the rest of the year claim that the album is pretty good but not great without really listening to the other tracks very much. As I said before this would be a mistake because when I finish listening to this album....give it about an hour and whats going round my head ?? Darker Side Of Me Better Believe It Into Your Garden I tell you now - those 3 are the ones that stick, average or not. Anyways, glad you like it - a lot of good modern rock about at the moment - wish I could say the same for MHR! (PS on a side note, I am surprised that you dont rate 'Breathing In' higher. That's a stunning ballad for me....not quite as good as the first one, but up there). Cheers
  5. If by BG you mean Battlestar Galactica.......then backed 100% - that was an awesome show. (24 as well me thinks.............)
  6. Not really worth it without him...I mean when I saw them live in London many moons ago he pretty much WAS the band.
  7. The Healer - Crown Of Thorns
  8. Bones On X-Ray Expose Suspect WILLY
  9. Soul To Soul - Bang Tango
  10. I caught the finale last night and have to say it rocked! The bit about Locke confused the hell out of me - I guess the 'false' Locke is that geyser with the beard who was at the beginning of the show - whoever he is?? & why would he need Ben to kill Jacob? The biggest mystery for me is Richard. What's his role and why does ne never age. & now that Jacobs dead will he age and die??! Did the bomb go off or was it the magnetic surge?? Not sure. If the bomb did go off is it that which destroys that massive statue and leaves just a foot? Surely the bomb couldnt have gone off cos then the island would be uninhabitable due to radiation??! One thing I do know is that Kate is still a sex bomb. Man that arse Great show, shame there's only one season to go.

  12. Baneed............that is not uninteresting.
  13. Nice. Which one? Spin 'Hell on high fucking heels' for me. Fuckin 'Sin Decade' and it was sweet.
  14. Islands In The Sky - Mastedon
  15. I read over at Melrock.com that this going to get a proper CD release...probably later in the year. You see the problem with these bands is they expect most people who will buy their music are aged less than 20 and will not go any where near a CD even if their life depended on it. Sign of the times Im afraid.

    Nural

You need to get more emo
  17. Echoes From The Past - The Poodles
  18. Whos Crying Now - Journey
  19. The Veer Union - Better Believe It (sticks in your head this one...good song)
  20. Fallbrooke - s/t The Veer Union - Against The Grain
  21. I tell you what mate, those 'Seasons styled average tracks' are some of my favs now after a few listens......namely 'Seasons' itself is a massive grower and in particular after the 2.30 mark that song is great. Also 'Into Your Garden' and 'Better Believe It' are surprisingly addictive and Ive found those 2 tracks going round my head more than the others. The 2 ballads are great though. (PS Glennie??..........cheers mate. Git).
