  1. New single "Romance" online now! I like it a lot, reminds me a lot of early Bon Jovi...
  2. Always looking out for new up'n'coming bands on Myspace, it's pretty hard to name only 5, anyway here's some names: 1. Crazy Lixx 2. Crashdiet 3. Hardcore Superstar 4. Babylon Bombs 5. Backyard Babies 6. Koritni 7. Backwash 8. Gemini 5 9. Million Dollar Reload 10. Crystal Pistol (what's up with these guys?) 11. Hell'N'Diesel 12. Innocent Rosie 13. Debbie Ray everything Chris Laney touches! and so on... plus bands, which haven't released an album yet: Reckless Love Baby Jane (Look out for their debut later thise year!! Great band! Myspace) Pretty Wild Billion Dollar Babies Danger Silverspoon 44 Caliber Redlight Attraction Bulletrain Distorted Wonderland Dirty Passion First Strike UK (Myspace) Jailbait Justin Zane Midnight Cowboys Faktion Night by Night Santa Cruz (Myspace) VXO (I think they are recording their debut atm with Johnny Lima!) many, many more to pop up I guess
  3. off the top of my head, i'm pretty sure their myspace says that they are no more. I ain't sure about that! I think (and hope!) they are still together, but a little bit under the radar at the moment...hopefully preparing a new album. btw: Passion for Power was released Fall 2007, so the wait hasn't been THAT long
  4. Dan, They must be taking the piss with this track surely?? This is either a blatant rip off or a cover number - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idUp9_h3PYw Mind you I dont know who originally wrote the track. If Treat didnt they could be in trouble..........esp changing the name of the song By the way the Stanfour debut album is excellent if anyone's is interested. Cheers Hmm...Anders Wikström has been writing songs for quite a few Pop-artists in the last few years (together with Fredrik Thomander), so it probably is written by him! At least that's what I hope...
  5. Thanks Dan! Great, great track indeed! Can't wait for March.
  6. Holy shit that sounds extraordinary!! Backed! This is going to be huge and I really like the somewhat slicker production...could be Crashdiet's "Slippery When Wet"

    Wigwam

Received this one today and gave it a couple of spins. I am probably the only one who was a bit disappointed with Wig Wamania after the excellent Hard to be a R'nRer, as it contained quite a few weaker tacks towards the end and overall was much too short. I'm glad they left off any instrumentals this time and I like the grittier sound they now have. The disc is missing a real stand-out track like "In my Dreams" or "Gonna get you Someday" on the previous discs, but there are once again quite a few gems hidden on Non Stop Rock'n'Roll ("Wild One", "Still I'm Burnin'", "Rocket through my Heart" or "Chasing Rainbows"). I agree on "From here" being rather weak and I think "All you wanted" isn't really that good, but overall I'd say this is pretty consistent. Wig Wam are still doing their thing very well, but somehow my excitement for the band has faded over the last 4 years, mainly because there are even newer bands, which are doing it even better imo. Non Stop Rock'n'Roll is a very good album, but somehow I doubt that it will end up in my Top 10 at the end of the year!
  8. Debut album out on 24. February! You can pre-order it through Record Shop X The cover is classic 80's style! Hope this turns out to be great.
  9. Backed 100%!! I haven't been listening to samples of any album that much before. Judging from the demo-samples in the background of their studio-blogs, the other songs I've heard are just as good! "The Witching Hour" and "Children of the Cross" seem a bit heavier, more like "Boneyard" and "Hell or High Water" from the debut, while "Voodoo Woman" seems to be in the same vein as "My Medicine". The period from February to May is gearing up huge, probably the best and most consistent period since 20 years, if not better! Crazy Lixx, Crashdiet, Treat, H.E.A.T. and Reckless Love just to name the cream of the crop! Amazing times ahead!

    Casablanca

2 new rough mixes online. Still looking forward to this one! Damn, what a great year lies ahead!
  11. Samples are up now! Of course, they sound nothing short of fantastic!! This is pretty probably going to end up on tip of my Top 10 List at the end of the year! Frontiers Myspace Blog

    Casablanca

Casablanca is a new band with member of different Swedish bands, which has been under the radar recording its debut, produced by Chris Laney. Ryan Roxie is the lead-guitarrist! I like the sound of their single...70's glam vibe mixed with some 80's backing-vocals. Their debut is coming out around April! Looking forward to it. Casablanca Myspace
  13. Samples are up now on the Frontiers-Page. GREAT stuff!! Big hooks, big sound, I love it so far! Check 'em out: Frontiers Myspace-Blog
  14. Have they ever had an album that didn't enter the Swiss chart at #1? Actually, as strange as it may sound, "Rock the Block" was their first enter at Number 1 back in 2003 and in fact the only album so far that peaked at 1!
  15. Okay, those short samples you can hear in the background sound nothing short of fantastic to my ears!! My guess is, that the new disc is gonna be even stronger than "Pure". Check out the chorus of "One Kiss 2Nite", brillant stuff: Chris Laney Youtube Chanel
  16. Their new single unfortunately sounds a bit meh...just a bit too simple and monotone for my taste. I hope there are better tracks on this disc. Still I'm looking forward to this one and its entering of the Swiss Charts at number 1
  17. I'm going to buy this one as soon as it is available from AOR-Heaven or NEH, as I actually like the samples of it (Amazon MP3. That being said, I think it sounds pretty good so far, BUT it most probably won't end up in my Top20 of the year, as I already prefer Wig Wam's newbie over this and there are some masterpieces coming up in 2010!
  18. There's a new song streaming at their Myspace: Airbourne Myspace It's nothing terribly new, but that works absolutely fine for me
  19. is this on every Friday or only some Fridays? have seen some gigs advertised at this place but nothing whilst i am here. Did a little more cd shopping today. Nothing out of the ordinary, just some new stuff.... picked up the new Mama Kin disc, and the first 2 Bullet discs. Might give the 2nd hand stores a try again in the next day or 2. I think i'm up to about 40 cds so far. The party is on every Friday! Here's the link for you: Harry B James I've only been there once during my vacation past summer, but it sure as hell was a great party and I'm planning to get back there next year. It's a very nice place to hang out! There seems to be some live-music almost every night, even when it's not advertised. So, if you've got no concert to attend on Friday, I'd recommend a visit. Girls, girls, girls Did you get to speak to the Midnight Cowboy guys? Are they already planning their debut (full-length)-album?
  20. Nice read! Enjoy your time in Stockholm and be sure to go to the Harry B James on Friday for the "Crazy Nights"-party! This is as good as it gets for Sleaze/AOR-lovers... Have a great one!
  21. It'd be great if he would make another solo-album in the tradition of his first three records! For those who'd like to check his work out, I recommend a visit to his homepage, where you can download "The Boyfriend" and "ST" plus a rare radio-show: Danny Wilde
  22. Actually H.E.A.T. are already recording their album at the moment and they are aiming for a March/April-release date! You can check out their studio-blog with some videos here: H.E.A.T. Studio Blog
  23. I do agree with you somewhat. I never got into HEAT and didn't understand the Europe comparisons that much and I do have one BT disc and it's good and all but I much prefer Pekka's other band Leverage for the heavy progressive but still melodic style. I do love Wig Wam to. Sure it's cheesy but they rock it up a little more than the other bands mentioned. I dig the Reckless Love single okay but would want to hear more of the disc before deciding to buy or not. Oh man, sorry dudes but I have to disagree 100 times over and then double it! This song just made my night. Tackiest filmclip ever, but the song made me damage my pants with huge spurts of sem... fun. I had fun in my pants. Seriously, I love that SOOOO much. I don't know if it's just the "bomb" in the title but it reminds me of 'Love bomb baby' in it's over the top infectious nature - which is what I love. This has immediately gone in the top 5 most anticipated releases of 2010 for me. Agree with Geoff (although my pants remained dry), but this is seriously catchy stuff and fits Olliver Twisted so much better than Crashdiet did. Check out "One more Time" as well on the band's Myspace-page! It is a bit more "rock" than Beautiful Bomb...
  24. David, "The Art of telling Lies" is already available through the bands Myspace. Shipping costs are ridiculous though (18$ for shipping to Europe, what the hell?!) Vains Of Jenna Myspace
  25. 1) Crazy Lixx - New Religion 2) Crashdiet 3) H.E.A.T. 4) Treat 5) Wig Wam 6) Hinder 7) Backwash 8) Airbourne 9) Chris Laney 10) Beggars & Thieves + lots more (Stan Bush, Stage Dolls, FM, Krokus, Gemini Five, Chris Antblad, every Chris Laney produced band...) including probably quite a few debut albums of Scandinavian bands!! I do hope that Trixter are gonna record a newbie as well + maybe we already get a new White Lion and a new Extreme disc... It's gonna be yet another great year!
