  1. Not too often I post a thumbs down on an album........but, this one really is weak. I have been a huge fan of Black Rose for many years. Peter Haga, the drummer is one cool fella and has sent me several demo albums they've put together. The band's overall style has shifted from the earlier material and seems to have a modern influence now!!! Shame.......
  2. Very interesting.....I too am anxiously awaitig the arrival of this one.
  3. Hey Mark, had a listen to the link you posted.....not a bad sound. Right away, when I started listening, they immediately reminded me of the band CELESTY. I know it probably sounds like a stretch, but, I guess maybe it was the singer that pulled me in that direction. Anyway, thanks for posting. I always like to hear new bands. That's what keeps it all interesting!!!
  4. You won't be dissappointed. I picked this up last year on Amazon and it is great. I always loved the track "Whiskey in a Jar" and Gary does a perfect rendition of that famous track. I picked up Nightwish "Showtime, Storytime" on DVD this past week. This one is with their newest vocalist, Floor Jansen and is she ever great. She has all the charisma of Tarja and a good set of pipes for the songs in their lineup. The quality of the whole production was magnificent and recorded at Wacken, Germany. The set includes 2 DVD's and 2 CD's. Quite a few sellers on E Bay are selling it very reasonably. I paid $14.00 for the set on E Bay........

  6. Thanks for posting this Stefan. I loved the "Pale Sister Of Light" CD and am really looking forward to this new one. The "Living Tatoo" track is killer. There's something about the group vocals that really attract me to this band as well as the melodic sound they produce.
  7. Okay, slap me silly..........I went to brutalmetal.com and see that "Within Tempation" is covered there. I hate having to jump back and forth. I love melodic and hard rock and I love all kinds of metal as well.....they should go together like peas and carrots. LOL!!!!
  8. I really liked this track Dan. I'm a follower of symphonic metal and melodic metal bands from Avantasia to Within Temptation. Since they are your favorite band, how about sharing info on the band and posting their albums for inclusion on the site's main library page???? Huh???? I notice Within Temptation is not listed and they have been around for quite a while with a discography!!
  9. I wanted to give everyone a heads up on a great UK band that has been around for 3 decades with very little attention. The BLACK ANGELS, fronted by Ron Phillips and his unique vocals, were introduced to me back in the early 90's when a friend in Germany sent me one of their vinyl albums. Not long ago, I discovered CD baby had this for sale http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/blackangels, so I picked it up. I certainly wasn't dissappointed. The 4-CD-Box set contains all songs the BLACK ANGELS ever made in their still running career on five albums and one Mini-Album from 1981-2009 collected in this edition with a lot of Bonusmaterial and informative booklets with band-history, interview, lyrics etc. The band was always called to be a mixture between KROKUS, SCORPIONS and some kind of New Wave of British Heavy Metal with strong vocals and very catchy european sounding songs! Pickup a copy or at least, listen to the samples on CD Baby to familiarize yourself with this great band.
  10. Don't know a whole lot of some of the titles he offers, but, I do know for a fact that he bought and still has a ton of the original KK Wilde CDs that he took off the band's hands several years ago.
  11. Paulo......Jane Stark actually wrote two separate volumes of "The Encyclopedia of Swedish Hard Rock and Heavy Metal". There is volume one covering the period 1970-1996 and then Volume II picked up after 1996 and also covers some of the bands missed on the first volume. They are both excellent references with band histories and some evaluations plus both hard back books come with a compilation CD with some rare tracks.......a must have for collectors!!!
  12. Del, hopefully you did not sell to Gilson R de Arruda! lol No.....never heard of that person!
  13. Chris....I have had a world of trouble selling to South America.....either the packages never arrived or were 4 or 5 weeks. Right now, I have a buyer from Brazil who claims to have mailed the payment to me 4 weeks ago and I am still waiting. For some reason mail service between the States and South America just isn't all that great!!!! Sorry to hear of your bad experience. Delbert
  14. Dave.....the seller has indicated in his seller profile that he will not accept email questions from prospective buyers, therefore, E Bay sent you a "standard" reply based on the selection that seller made in his profile....... I agree......STAY AWAY from that "service oriented" seller.......!!!!
  15. Well....one of them would be WHITE EAGLE from Southern California......
  16. Nice CD hunting trip, eh, Jake? You want to be sure and give thanks for those 16 and 17 year old kids they got working in the store who put out the CDs.......you know, I'm talking about those teeny boppers who have never heard of the killer titles you found.....all they know is the last guy who won American Idol and who's been played on the radio the last three weeks!!!! They think all those killer titles are just unheard of junk!!!!! Well....their junk is "OUR GOLD"!!!
  17. You're right....I actually have another old even cruder appearing demo CDR that has a white cover similiar to the first self titled Harem Scarem CD......one thing I'm sure of.....those demos were never made officially on a silver pressed CD until Escape released that disc in 2001......anything prior to that is going to arrive in CDR format.
  18. Dan I have a copy of the original demos that I received in the early 1990's.....they were on CDR and I have attached the artwork for you to view. Later, Frontiers released the Demo collection in 2001 on CD titled "The Early Years". I hope this helps..... Delbert
  19. I had a listen......very impressive sounding band. I'm classified as a keyboard oriented melodic rock nut, so this one rang my chimes. I hope the fellas put their heads together and come up with a full length release soon, I'd be buyer! One quickie.....so as not to create any confusion, there is a Finnish power metal band of the same name..."Clarity" who released an album in 2001 titled "Empty X Space". They also had a demo CD out in 1999 titled "The Demo".
  20. Jim I keep an extensive list of all who buy from my auctions and I don't recognize this one...however, checking his feedback, I see a number of people I recognize who he has been buying from and I can put you in touch with any of those people if you need to find out. Just send me a PM and I'll let you know. Delbert
  21. We've lost one of our fellow collectors and board members. Kelly Robert Schacher known here on the board as "frogstomp" and on E Bay as "razorrozar" passed away recently. I received a phone call yesterday morning from James (staryder) Gebbia with the news. James said he usually talked with Kelly (Robert) on the phone 2 or 3 times a week and hadn't heard from him in about 3 weeks, so he decided to call him. His brother answered the phone and told James that Kelly (Robert) had passed away as the result of a heart murmur that he has had since birth. He apparently got very sick and they were taking him to the hospital, but, he died enroute. James wasn't sure how to confirm any of this and I contacted several of the members here on the board who are also fellow CD collectors. No one seemed to have any knowledge that Kelly (Robert) was MIA. I finally contacted Mike (whiplash1972) who did some checking and determined that Kelly (Robert) hadn't signed on the board since February 7 and that he hadn't made any E Bay feedback posts since January 10 which seemed unusual. Finally, Mike was able to locate an obituary notice on line (Mike is the internet detective in my opinion). Here is the link for anyone interested in viewing and/or posting to it: Obituary Notice I always knew Kelly as Robert, but, I always knew him for his posts here on the board, his avid CD collecting, E Bay auctions and finally.......as one of the best CD trackers I've known. He was a hound dog when it came to tracking bands to contact and turning up their rare CDs. We'll all miss his contributions to our hobby.
  22. Josh, did you notice this was a vinyl and not the CD? I guess they are both hard to find though..........
  23. E Bay thinks this will prevent watchers from offering CDs Off of E Bay to other buyers who they know by E Bay ID. It is intended to prevent THEM from losing money....it has nothing to do with protecting buyers and sellers on E Bay. Everything E Bay does has a motive of making them more money and protecting their interests.....everything else is just hype from E Bay about protecting buyers and sellers.... (Example: Why would E Bay only allow a buyer to leave negative feedback and not a seller? Have you looked at the ebay feedback percentage. Anyone who has less than 100% has to be a seller. If you are a seller, you have no idea of the reliability of any buyer who may be bidding on your item. I always leave positive feedback for buyers on my auctions, but, it is a moot point really.
  24. Geoff I really liked this debut solo from Matt Sinner and I think you'll get off on it as well. It's more melodic than the SINNER albums, but still pretty hard-edged. Also, many of the Sinner members played on the album, so it's really the same group. I have been a longtime fan of Sinner because I like the melodic metal sound. And.....I really go for the ones where they use Keys....just my hangup.
  25. This. James I concur with Dan and Dave......and of course, block the guy from any further transactions. No matter how hard you try to do the right thing and work with people, the certain element is out there and will cause you grief, so just take the hit with the fees and move on. Del
