Dan.....this may not be feasible, but, think about having a topic catagory (or possibly just pinning) a thread such as this. In the case of James, I suspect that he was in touch with a vast majority of the regulars of the forum? I just don't want his memory here and enthusiasum for CD collecting to be lost. It's possible future visitors to the forum will pickup on some of the admired past members that are with us no more! If this isn't possible, I understand, and maybe others here don't agree with me! Very melodic track which was enjoyable to hear.................. Very nice drummer that was enjoyable to see........................

You hit the "nail" right on the head.......I think each one of us who talked with James so many times over the years came away with that exact same impression!!! Thanks for pointing that out!

I ditto your thoughts Terry. I know you and James had some great CD hunting time together. I am in total shock!! I talked to James so much on the phone that I have his phone number memorized (that's a feat in itself at my age!!) We would talk about CD collecting, the families and James' love of car salesmanship. He was a pro at it. He loved picking my brain about collectable CDs and was one of my earliest and best customers over the years. I am truly gonna miss our chats..............

Once again, music to my ears. I am a huge fan of melodic Metal, layered with voices, keys, double drum beats and searing guitars. Music to my ears, did I mention that?

Different things for different folks.......the first released track is total comfort to my ears......I have been a long time, no, all time fan of NIGHTWISH from the beginning. I did experience a downshift during the Annette Olzen era as I just didn't think she was the right fit for the band. Her vocals had nowhere near the range and strength of Tarja. Now, Floor Jansen steps to the front and she has a dynamic voice that blends extremely well with the style of symphonic metal that the band plays. I am waiting with bated breath for this one and anxiously await another DVD concert as well!!

I just wanted to jump in here and thank those of you who are regular posters of new releases in this section. Stefan and Terry are two that quickly come to mind who post here often. Forgive me if I don't mention everyone, but to all who take the time to research and put together this material, I just want you to know that it is appreciated. This is one of my favorite posting places to visit on the forum and make a stop here everytime I log on!! :bowdown:

Here is another promising release that I anxiously want to hear more from. Excellent melody with flowing rythym. Once again, thank you Stefan for digging up these great previews!! I for one truly appreciate your efforts.

Reading all the comments on this seems to indicate an excellent release for the band. Thinking about the tracks, after I played them, and the comments, I came to the conclusion that here is something out of the ordinary. Have you noticed how so much that is released today is "repititious"? Rehash!! This album seems very fresh with very catchy songs, more innovative for lack of a better term. I believe this is going to be their best release! I like this one!!! Oh, and when I pulled up the video track "Rawk n Roll Heart Attack", I almost thought I was preparing to watch the new ROCK SUGAR track.....LOL!!!!

Well, for me, the second "Fairytale Romance" is much better sounding to my ears. I really enjoy the much fuller sound of this track and the melody is captivating. I would love to hear more from this band.

This is a real surprise for me......There were a few tracks off the self titled that pulled my chain......I really liked what I heard on the track here, "One Life". I've got this one added to my "to get list".....

If you are a seller on E Bay, shipping internationally, you must ship with tracking, door to door inorder to be covered by the ripoff buyers. Unfortunately, they require the sellers to provide the tracking to be covered.....You have to pay the big bucks for tracking. When you order from a US mail order company, they send your CD after you pay up.....no tracking. Want to file a claim.....deal with the US mail order company, not PAYPAL or E BAY..... I've been ripped off numerous times selling on E Bay (thankfully, not from my regular group of buyers who are great guys and gals).

Over the years, Geoff and I really haven't agreed much when it comes to what we hear in music........but, this is one of those times I have to agree with him. Maybe it has to do with what my ear wants to hear, but, this band has some very good music, but it is all so repititious!!! One album and I feel as though I own the whole catalog!!! In fact, that is all I do own!!

Wow......great sound from this new band. Thanks for posting Stefan. Very melodic and with just enough prog to avoid stagnation.......LOVE IT!!!

Very interesting thread.........having been on the short end of MANY bad deals in the past, especially concerning E Bay, I take issue with one point Dan brought up: "That said, if Josh was unhappy with the results of the trade and felt he got a raw deal, the solution was NOT to delibrately rip Peter off, which he apprently did. He knew that what he was sending Peter was NOT what Peter was expecting to receive. Period. End of discussion. So what could Josh have done? He could have posted here in the good/bad sellet/trader forum. That's what it's here for: to bring issues like this to light in hopes of scrutiny and peer pressure making it right. He could have contacted me or any other moderator and asked us to intervene in the situation... but he did neither of these." Dan, I don't believe that would have solved the problem. You do not really have any authority or leverage to enforce any transaction results. Actually, the end result would be what we have right now.......back and forth posts.....he said then he said........!!! Sometimes, to get someone's attention, you have to hit them in the pocketbook!! We can all argue over the merits of each trader, but, in my opinion, the way to resolve the issue is thru a neutral party.......Such as the moderator of this forum by handling it in this manner...... Both parties forward all CDs and funds to the site administrator for safe keeping until all monies and discs have been received. This must be done at each's expense with tracking. Once all monies and property have been received by the administrator, then those items be forwarded with tracking to each trader. (Each trader contributes equally to the shipping costs from the administrator). Once each trader has received his property and monies, the issue will be deemed resolved and posted on this forum accordingly. Each party goes his separate way and the postings Closed with no further discussion. Yes, I know right away, the moderators will say "we don't want to become directly involved". Unfortunately, you are involved and have chosen to become involved in a limited way already...... Okay, that's my thought on this whole matter....... Time to move on.....................

Well.....this "old" man has almost said goodbye to buying and selling on E Bay and using that user UNFRIENDLY site called PAYPAL. Both E Bay and Paypal have morfed into a seller beware environment. Having lost my ass (Literally) several times with savy con artists working "their" system, I've decided to enjoy my collection and "listen to the music"!!!! I truly feel sorry for all you youngsters that are still collecting and selling.......the good old days are long past.

I'm pretty much a metal lover along with all the other styles I listen to. I started getting into the video track you posted. Nice solid foundation ........ then the vocalist!!! Got to agree with jugjuice above......the grungy vocals were just not my cup of tea.

KarpetRydOFunk I just want to tell you that you did a pretty amazing job here connecting all the dots and adding the links in one place. Great job!! Even the "Old Man" here heard a few tracks that I was not familiar with and it was a very pleasant experience having it all in one place to listen. Thanks for all your work! Del
