  1. By the name I'm guessing this is LA Guns inspired.
  2. I am somewhat surprised by the lack of enthusiasm. The guys in the band really want to do this. It's the singer that's the holdout. Understandably so they are having difficulty moving forward without him. So it probably won't happen. If it did that would be spectacular. Could you imagine being in a city and have the opportunity to see a band the caliber of Dirty Rhythm regularly? That just doesn't happen any more. So for me the possibilities are exciting. As for Never Cleaned Up. I take it for what it is. Leftover tracks from Hard As A Rock. The songs are solid, but nothing spectacular.
  3. What I love is when companies go out there and talk about all the great things they are doing for their employees. In reality they have just figured out a new way to screw them over and come out looking good in the process.
  4. The name isn't so great. I do like the music though.
  5. If this were a possibility how many people would be excited about it? I know that since I've been out here (Portland, Oregon) I have been paying more attention to them. I discovered that a reunion and new material came close to happening. Unfortunately it fell apart. They still plan on rereleasing their two albums. I would love to see it happen. If they did continue on it would likely be with another vocalist. While that is not the preferred route it's still better than no reunion at all. If you like Dirty Rhythm like them on FB and let them know you are a fan.
  6. I have this cd in my car. I like what I've heard, but I can't help but wonder how much better it would be with an old school production.
  7. Journey is a bit different from most of the music I listen to. Funny enough I haven't really heard a full Journey album that has caught my attention like this one. Knowing your thoughts on I, Napoleon I think it's safe to say it doesn't even crack your top 100. I am surprised that you didn't have any Danger Danger listed. I thought that was one of your favorite bands. I kind of have the same thought on EPs. I would likely have included Rozy Coyote if there had been more songs. Also just outside my top 10 is bands like Cinderella- Night Songs or Long Cold Winter, Britny Fox- Boys In Heat, and Tuff- What Comes Around Goes Around.
  8. As of this moment this is my top ten favorite releases of all time and why (in no particular order). What are yours? Can you narrow it down to just 10? Journey- Evolution I’ve probably listened to this more than any other album. I had it on 8-Track, cassette, and now CD. AOR perfection. Quite possibly the best album ever recorded. Guns N’ Roses- Appetite For Destruction The album by which all other sleaze is judged. The pinnacle of the album is Rocket Queen. It’s a beautiful gritty song about letting someone know you care. If they are ever in trouble or need someone to go to you are there. The inclusion of Axl having sex with a woman over the bridge does nothing to take away from the song. It only makes it that much more real. Wildside- Under The Influence In my opinion this is Appetite For Destruction 2.0. It opens with a song about a hooker and closes with a song co-written by Paul Stanley. So Far Away perfectly captures the feeling of isolation that comes with being an outsider. The lyrics seem to fit me. Although, maybe not quite as much now. Looks Like Love’s depiction of love is perhaps the best ever. A subject I’ve struggled to understand. When I have feelings for another this song best describes it. Slaughter- Stick It To Ya Party rock at its best. This album showcases my favorite vocalist, Mark Slaughter, at his finest. There is incredible musicianship all the way around. This album also includes my favorite song of all time, Up All Night. Incredibly catchy and chock full of goodness. I’ve listened to it so many times it’s lost some of its meaning. Vinnie Vincent Invasion- All Systems Go My favorite guitar work of all time is featured on this album. Vinnie fills every imaginable space with incredible riffage. Mark Slaughter shows off his vocal range and beautifully compliments Vinnie’s abilities. The metal is great and the accompanying ballads even better. Love Kills and That Time Of Year are incredible songs. I, Napoleon- I, Napoleon This one is nearly impossible to describe. The music is very dark and at times depressing delving into subjects such as suicide. The band mixes glam with classical influences and a vocal delivery along the lines of Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). It’s a strange combination that somehow seems to work. Roxxi- Drive It To Ya Hard One of the best indies to ever come out. Hook laden commercial hard rock with soaring vocals and excellent backing vocals. The guitarist is very technical and at times it seems as though he’s playing to a different song. It all fits together just right. There is not a bad song on here. It’s a shame this is the only music they ever released. Ratt- Detonator Most of Ratt’s previous work was hit and miss. So they brought in Desmond Child as a collaborator. He took their best aspects and added a pop element. The result is high polished sleaze. This is Ratt’s finest moment. Warrant- Cherry Pie While a great song, Cherry Pie completely overshadows Jani's original vision for the album. Jani hated himself for even writing it. You can thank the record company for that. The more I listen to the album the more I realize just how much of a masterpiece it is. And sadly no one will ever know. Warrant will forever be known for Cherry Pie and nothing else. Jani's brilliance completely overlooked. Brass Kitten- E-Z N' Pretty I haven’t listened to this one in forever as I no longer have access to my collection or a cassette player. From what I remember it’s an excellent indie hard rock release. It’s not quite like anything else from the time and the vocalist’s incredible range helps set them apart. The highlight of the album is definitely the ballad Don't Ask Me Why. It is perhaps the best ballad I’ve ever heard.
  9. I will also have to go with Cherry Pie. While a great song it completely overshadows Jani's original vision for the album. The more I listen to the album the more I realize just how much of a masterpiece it is. And sadly they will forever be known for Cherry Pie and nothing else. Jani's brilliance completely overlooked.
  10. I put a substantial amount of money into a movie project. I have yet to see anything come of it. So yeah, I'm not too big on the idea any more. If the movie ever comes out and it's good I might change my mind. Seems like Big Cock tried to do one of these to help fund a new CD. They didn't meet their goal and that was the end of Big Cock.
  11. http://cassettestoreday.us/ There was a somewhat satirical article on Yahoo yesterday about cassettes. In the article there was a link. Apparently there is a Cassette Store Day. Who knew? I looked at the list of cassettes that will be available. Nothing really jumps out at me. Even if it did should I buy it? I don't even have a cassette player any more. At least not with me. From what I've seen cds are pretty much obsolete with the younger crowd. Pretty much any crowd to be honest. It seems most download. I've also seen an uptick in people streaming. I'm not sure I get it. Recently I let a girl I work with borrow the new Three Days Grace cd. I had pre-ordered it. Since she was a fan (and the reason I bought the cd to begin with) I pulled it up on my phone. I showed her and she seemed puzzled. She didn't even realize it was out. So I told her I could let her borrow it. The idea of "borrowing" also seemed confusing to her. Like "how do you borrow mp3's?" I told her I usually buy physical copies. A day or so later I told her I brought it. She lit up. When I handed it to her she was super excited. If I had purchased the mp3s could this have even happened? lol. I'm pretty sure she ripped the cd and added it to her collection.
  12. I felt compelled to buy this. I listened to the samples on Amazon and it sounded good. After listening to that video I'm having second thoughts.
  13. I knew you dudes were into different stuff and I'm cool with that. The whole plastic doll thing doesn't really do much for me any more. This girl does. She has an intangible quality that I can't explain. I've seen it in her and in others. It's her look and her personality. It feels like something I've known before. I just can't figure out where. Watch some of her roles. Let me know if you see what I see. Actually, if I want to be truthful I met a girl with her personality recently. When I made that realization it hit me like a ton of bricks.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_tbKk8mclo A couple days ago I watched a movie called Two Night Stand. I thought the girl looked familiar. It took me a few minutes to figure out she was briefly in this TV show called Manhattan Love Story. The show was just ok so I can understand why it got cancelled. I only watched because of the girl. Now I know her name is Analeigh Tipton. The movie itself was actually pretty good. Better than it should be anyway. She's not the typical girl you guys drool over, but I find her absolutely mesmerizing. Any thoughts? What about you?
  15. Let me know when Straight Oughtta The Gutter comes out. That's something I'd pay to see.
  16. Apparently he lived in Hillsboro, OR. Funny the people you live near and don't even know about.
  17. That is pretty mesmerizing. I'm surprised the pilot was able to stay focused.
  18. http://www.brobible.com/girls/article/abigail-ratchford-bouncing-bra-video/ If you guys haven't seen it yet.
  19. The new video is cool. It almost seems redundant though. As for Abigail Ratchford I think you opened Pandora's box. After doing a bit of research it appears I have heard of her. I remember seeing a TMZ thing about her video. If you haven't seen it you must. It's quite mesmerizing.
  20. I'm actually referring to Circus- Coming For You. I believe it was released by Demon Doll. I should have been more specific. Lol
  21. You disappoint me Geoffrey. Those are my favorite kind of vocalists. I guess it's safe to say you don't like Circus either.
  22. The WWE has been a joke for years. Every once in a while I'll catch a minute or two of it. Might as well be watching Honey Boo Boo. It's that bad.
  23. I love the vocal style of guys like Mark Slaughter and Michael Matijevic. Mark Slaughter is actually my favorite vocalist.
