How does a cd-r wear out??? Never had a problem with mine except for my four year old playing frisbee with them.

Have no idea, all my music playing equipment has suddenly just stopped recognising the disc.

 

I've tried all the obvious things like replacing all my playing equipment; computer/car stereo/hi-fi, but have come to the conclusion that it's the disc itself.
