The lead singer certainly has a Tom Keifer growl about him huh?? LOL The guitars sound great too. Reminds me of the Trixie albums and it should as it is produced by Ronnie from Trixie/Amsterdam.

  • 3 weeks later...

This album is just fantastic! I can already rate it in the top 10 this year and there are a ton of good things coming out this year. I can't see 10 other CDs being better. (Actually, I wouldn't mind being wrong, but, I just think this album is that good.)

There are the requisite comparisons to Kix and Cinderella because of the vox, but, this CD is really some good hard rockin' stuff! This things kicks the attitude in the car up quite a few notches, even at 6:30 AM!

And I have to thank Rick, without whom I most likely wouldn't have found this.

That's why this site/MB will always rock out with it's c*ck out!

Not a problem. They are certainly my surprise find of 2006 so far. :banger:

Picked this one up a couple weeks ago and while I wouldn't go as far as HSF and called it fantastic (then again, what would you expect from somebody who considers Butch Walker's "Letters" a masterpiece? :P ), it is a pretty solid slab of Cinderella/Kix-influenced hair-metal. And HSF, ol' buddy, ol' pal, lemme tell ya, if you think Miss Crazy belongs in the Top Ten of 2006, do yourself a favor and get your hands on the new Jesse Strange: "Looking for Some Strange." That one rawks so hard that you'll go home, slap your wife, spank your mama, and scream "OHHHH YEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!" at the top of your lungs. Of course, it's still good even if you're not in a wife-slappin'-mamma-spankin' mood.

Miss Crazy...Jesse Strange...2006 is shaping up to be a good year for hair-metal maniacs!

I was wondering if anyone else got a little worried when they first got the cd and saw the picture of the band on the back? I know I did. When I put the cd in I was half expecting some crazy death metal band to start screaming from the speakers. :band:

WOW! Mark throwin' jabs at me and Butch again! **in my best John Lithgow voice** "Oh no!"

Seriously, while I can't vouch for you having great taste, since you think so little of "Letters", :poke: I did take your advice (because I have heard great things about it quite a bit lately) and ordered both Jesse Strange albums.

But, Miss Crazy still is a juggernaut from the stuff I've heard released in recent memory.

Been living with Miss Crazy for a week or so now (no, my wife didn't stop taking her meds! :P ) and I'm really enjoying it. The Cinderella/Britny Fox/Kix comparisons being made are dead on, and this one grows on ya with each listen. Great way to start off 2006 for Metal Mayhem Music, and Miss Crazy! :banger:

Now...let's check out ol' Jesse Strange which I got in the mail today!

It is a good solid disc, some great hard rockers especially towards the end. The ballad is very good and very Cinderella-esque and though the vocals aren't my preferred option, it's a good solid hard rock disc, that's for sure.

    • Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything
    • Faith in the Heartland-Journey
    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
    • Named my HH self after the song Auslander on the album Stain. Love that track. Really like the whole album. It's like Living Colour's "Slave to the Grind" or "Dog Eat Dog".
    • From Frontiers: TRACKLIST: 1 Awesome God 2 Stand Up 3 Warrior 4 There You Are 5 Speak His Name 6 Why God Brought Me Here 7 Praying 8 It's Up to You 9 Holy Moment 10 Leaning on the Cross 11 Jesus Christ --- When a musical family gets together to record, magic can happen and this is what the VAN ZANT’s are here for! Brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (respectively current lead vocalist of Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and founding member of .38 Special) were able to find room in their busy schedules for the first time in 1998, recording their collaboration album “Brother to Brother”: a tribute to their late brother and Lynyrd Skynyrd original singer and founding member Ronnie. Such release was highly acclaimed between the press and fans worldwide and brought the duo to record a follow up album, simply entitled “II” in 2001. Their collaboration during the years did not stop as they tapped their feet in a more Country-oriented style with the release of “Get Right With the Man” (certified Gold in the USA in 2005) and later on with “My Kind of Country” in 2007. Now the brothers once again reinvent themselves, offering a Christian-themed album encompassing their Rock and Blues musical roots (and with a touch of Country for good measure). The result “Always Look Up” is made up of songs that will touch the listener’s heart and soul, with an emotional depth that is truly second to none in today’s musical landscape. Experience the soul touching that only the music from the Van Zant family, can provide. You will see why they are icons of the American South, and musical heroes to millions around the globe!
