I played this on my commute to work too. Whereas I'm not as excited as some about it - & there are definitely some weaker moments (I don't really like "Superstar" much) & some overlong tunes, it is a very classy album indeed. The vocals/guitar & harmonies are all second-to-none, & it's right up there with the Steelhouse Lane albums IMO. Slamer's melodic guitar work reminds me of Dan Huff's, & the solos are spine-tingling... "Jaded" is an absolute AOR monster...

I have extremely similar thoughts. I think it is an excellent album, but maybe not really right up my alley. As you say - vocals/music/harmonies are amazing. I do however differ in that I don't think it's on par with the Steelhouse Lane albums... not close. Those songs are much more "commercial" and aimed at the "average" melodic hard rock listener. As you mention, the over-long songs is a big issue for me. A song like 'Come to me' is just sensational, but 3 mins 50 until the first chorus??? 'Jaded' is my fave track, the album is good, but it's not really what I personally was hoping for.
