What's a spinnin' in your CD player?

Recommended Posts

In honor of my trip to Dave Mustaine's book signing this evening, I'm getting psyched up by listening to the entire Megadeth discography today, in order. I'm about halfway thru COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION at the moment.

...yeah, I know. I'm a fanboy dork.

Ed Kowalczyk - Alive

What do you think? I think its a very varied and thought provoking album. At least 4 or 5 great songs and certainly 'Grace' is my fav 'modern' song this year. Love this guys voice. Have to say tho that it isnt as good as Erik Gronwall's solo album - that is amazing from beginning to end. Perfect pop/rock.

Enjoying it mate. The first 5 or 6 songs are the best ones as It runs out of steam a little towards the end. I agree, 'Grace' is probaby the best track though. I quite liked some of Live' stuff, but some of these songs equal if not better them imo. Good little disc, thx for the tip.

    • It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.
    • Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
