How do you pronounce "GOTTHARD"

I'm guessing they named themselves after the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland, but i've never really know how to pronounce it.

Is it Got-ard, Goth-ard or God-ard?

I've always said God-ard.

And you'd be right.

Named after Gotthard Pass or St. Gotthard himself, who the pass is named after.

The self-titled album cover is of St. Gotthard.

I'm pretty sure that's the Shroud of Turin.

Oh, looks like you're correct.

I remember researching the name years ago, and an image of a statute of St. Gotthard on the side of a church came up and it looked similar. So I just assumed that's who it was.

Obviously I was wrong.

lol, I've always said (to myself, because I've never had an actual verbalised conversation about the band, ever) Got-ard.

Ha!

Yeah, that's what I mean.

Although, with my mates back in the day we always went with God-ard.

I really appreciate the input, but after the GOTTHARD debut/Shroud of Turin fiasco, I hope you don't mind if I request a second opinion.

I've always pronounced a blend of gotard and gothard
Kind of like my attempt at a scandanavian accent

I'll check google and see if they have a description of how to say it.
