Went to a post-wedding party on Saturday night with free beer and a lift from my wife's friend. To say I was happy is a mild assessment of the evening. Sadly, the beer of choice was Crown Lager (after James Boags and Becks ran out quickly) but free beer - who the fuck is honestly going to fault that?!

Yesterday I picked up a 4-pack of Morland Old Speckled Hen in cans. I might pop open one before the night is through. :chug:

i didn't know you could get the hen in the states?

I've found The Hen here in New Jersey as well. Only in one store tho.

I've only seen it in Kentucky of all places and it was in cans.

They have it on tap at the pub around the corner here in Joisey, it's the best I've ever had, even better than the pub cans. :beerbang:

BevMo (formerly Beverages & More) a huge alcoholic's dream store of wine, beer and spirits. Shelves upon shelves of domestic, imports and micro beer. A lareg cold section as well for those that can't wait to refrigerate their goods. Not sure if this is a CA only chain. I've been to several of them and they all stock the Hen in bottles and cans. They also have that Hen's Tooth beer which is also great.

I got on the beers on both Monday and Tuesday evenings this week, after a beer-heavy weekend. I'll put away a couple tonight too if I go out to see Hansel... but not too many as I'll have to drive.

Post-work, it's been a good week so far. Barons Lager = tops.

Bought a six pack of bottles of Kona (Hawaii) Brewing Company's Pipeline Porter. Having one before bed, really good stuff. :chug:

wish someone would give me a bottle of beer before bed, and something in

A nice selection of proper beer is lined up for the weekend, as I shall be visiting my homeland in the North on Saturday. Absolutely no poofters lager drink in these parts I assure you, with large amounts of Timothy Taylors delicious 'Landlord' on the menu, oh yes indeedy. Bring it the fuck on. :drink:

Hahn Super Dry and Coopers Pale Ale were consumed in heavy numbers over the weekend. I've always loved Coopers Pale Ale, but I have to admit that after a few Super Dry's it certainly got shown up. Still, very nice either way.

I've been downing a few Barons each night. Am I becoming an alcoholic?

No chance Lance, No way Jose. Just blame it on the weather and everything will be alright (or work, or sports, etc.) :drink:

    • Well, the first two "Giant" albums are quintessential, as is the "Hardline" debut. Akdo Nova's "Blood on the Bricks" is one of my all time favourites, Lizzy Borden is awesome as is the Mark/Marcie Free fronted "King Kobra".
    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • New song 'Chase The Sun'.
    • Super Sabre - Sugar and Spice *This is actually a full album, “Chasing the Rabbit”, with a complete band backstory included in the YT description. “Sugar and Spice” is the opening track…

Tracklist: LOVES THE DRUG READY FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIFE WILL GO ON SUMMER DAY TEST OF TIME
    • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
