Who is this Owens guy you all speak of so knowingly? I assume it's the vocalist. If so, I agree with y'all that he is the weak point here.

Otherwise, though, this is pretty good. Sounds a bit like they're trying something similar to Midnite City. Obviously not anywhere near them, but some good catchy, melodic choruses there. I'd love to hear a full album.

yes, Tim "Ripper" Owens is the singer, if you've seen the Mark Wahlberg movie Rock Star that character was somewhat based on Tim and the circumstances around him being offered the job of replacing Rob Halford in Judas Priest in the mid 90's

Oh, okay. Thank you sir. That'd be why I don't really know him as I don't really move in those circles. It's a shame they're using a vocalist like that on what is essentially a very commercial hard rock project. Well, at least that's how it sounds to me. ;)

I agree, he does seem like a bit of an odd fit for a project such as this

But it sounds quite interesting, maybe he just wanted something different after Priest.

Priest, Malmsteen, Iced Earth, so I'd say something different for sure.

I think it's more of a Chris Laney/Laney's Legion sound.

One of the more enjoyable releases so far this year for me.:metalheadbanger:

This disc reminds me ALOT of last year's "My Midnight Things" by Lizzy Borden. Think I'm crazy? Give that one a listen, then listen to Owens' phrasing and enunciation on the two tracks above, particularly the chorus on "The Way"; VERY Lizzy-like!

Didn't hear it, but will asap. Not that I love this album that much, but it's pretty good.

    • Ok, lets put this into perspective as to how overpriced this is. Queen (a much bigger band) has announced the reissue of their debut album. It comes in multiple formats to suit every pocket. The ultra special edition has six CDs and one LP. It has everything from remixes, remasters and live tracks to unreleased stuff. What are they asking for this? £150... thats £30 less than the shit Crue is putting out. Motley are my fave band, but I aint about to be arse fucked by them with crap like this. https://queenonlinestore.com/collections/queen-1?utm_source=Original&utm_campaign=Queen20240905&utm_medium=direct&utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.queenonline.com%2F&utm_board=queen&utm_country=GB&utm_linkurl=Queen.lnk.to%2FQueenI&lf=68ca40ef890f7402b64fa76a96b2fc0d
    • I have learned not to assume these kinda releases are stand alone so I won't be buying the digital single, that's for sure. Been bitten with that one before. And if it does end up being standalone, well the digital single will still be available later. I don't like buying anything digitally, so only do it when there is no other choice.
    • Fairh In You - Jack Russell
    • Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything
    • Faith in the Heartland-Journey
    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
