Sammy Hagar & The Circle release lyric video for new track “Trust Fund Baby”

Sammy Hagar & The Circle consisting of the ‘Red Rocker’ Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot) on lead vocals, Michael Anthony (Van Halen, Chickenfoot) on bass, Jason Bonham (Bonham, Foreigner, Black Country Communion) on drums and Vic Johnson on guitar have released a video for their debut single “Trust Fund Baby” from their upcoming debut album Space Between, which will be released on May 10, 2019.

In an interview with the Broward Palm Beach New Times, Hagarspoke about the new Sammy Hagar & The Circle concept album Space Between and stated: “It’s about the misconception that money is the root of all evil, because the truth of the matter is, that it isn’t money at all…. You can feed the poor, you can heal the sick, you can make people happy, you can stop a war with money, but it’s greed that is the problem. That’s what the whole record is about. It’s what I discovered by being both rich and poor.”

I like it... don't love it... just like. It does give me hope that the album will rock overall though.

Not particularly fond of the lyrics... especially the second-tier glam-rock wannbe "Trust Fund Baby" scream.  Sounds like a cheap imitation of something Big Bang Babies would have done in 1990 (I like Kelli a lot, my the way).  Actually, the more I think of it, I'm reminded of a much less awesome alternate version of GNR's "Night Train."

Anyway, I dig the artists quite a bit.  Loved me some Sammy dating back to junior high,  and of course Mikey from my grade school days.  The music is good... it's just the cheesy lyrics from this first track that are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.  I'll certainly check-out the other tracks from the album, and I'm guessing this band puts on one helluva live show.  Count me in for that if they come my way.

Probably Sammy's last release of new material. It'samazing the amount of quality music he's put out in over 45 years ! He's earned the status of being called a legend.

Abso-fuckin-lutely! It'll be a sad day when he finally hangs it up.

That is true ! I think he'll always do his birthday bash at Cabo though.

Any love for the new song, Affirmation? I think it's pretty cool. I've seen references to the keyboard sound on Feels So Good as well as 80s ZZ Top. I hear both. Personally, I think that this one could have been on I Never Said Goodbye. A guitar solo would've made this one even better.

So I've listened to this a bunch of times now, and here's my review

Wide Open Space
Bottom Line
No Worries

All great songs.
As usual, Sammy fit into a Led Zepplin type group, where they have some great songs but the others are pretty ordinary, generic and boring.
Happy to pick up 3 really good songs though.

Only other one woth a listen i Hey Hey which is the kind of reprise of the opening track, but better, but more like a musical filler thn nything else.
