Sammy Hagar & The Circle release lyric video for new track “Trust Fund Baby”

Sammy Hagar & The Circle consisting of the ‘Red Rocker’ Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot) on lead vocals, Michael Anthony (Van Halen, Chickenfoot) on bass, Jason Bonham (Bonham, Foreigner, Black Country Communion) on drums and Vic Johnson on guitar have released a video for their debut single “Trust Fund Baby” from their upcoming debut album Space Between, which will be released on May 10, 2019.

In an interview with the Broward Palm Beach New Times, Hagarspoke about the new Sammy Hagar & The Circle concept album Space Between and stated: “It’s about the misconception that money is the root of all evil, because the truth of the matter is, that it isn’t money at all…. You can feed the poor, you can heal the sick, you can make people happy, you can stop a war with money, but it’s greed that is the problem. That’s what the whole record is about. It’s what I discovered by being both rich and poor.”

I like it a lot. I think it sounds like old Sammy Hagar solo material with a modern sound.  I definitely will check this out!

I like it... don't love it... just like. It does give me hope that the album will rock overall though.

Boring generic rock.

Van Hagar were amazing

Early Sammy post VH solo staff was great

From there it's been a downhill slide for me

Not particularly fond of the lyrics... especially the second-tier glam-rock wannbe "Trust Fund Baby" scream.  Sounds like a cheap imitation of something Big Bang Babies would have done in 1990 (I like Kelli a lot, my the way).  Actually, the more I think of it, I'm reminded of a much less awesome alternate version of GNR's "Night Train."

Anyway, I dig the artists quite a bit.  Loved me some Sammy dating back to junior high,  and of course Mikey from my grade school days.  The music is good... it's just the cheesy lyrics from this first track that are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.  I'll certainly check-out the other tracks from the album, and I'm guessing this band puts on one helluva live show.  Count me in for that if they come my way.

    • Should not be called Santa Cruz. Almost like a Techno or Industrial sound to it. Feels like we lost Dynazty to a heavier sound and now Santa Cruz. What is happening to the glam hardrock scene that was so strong a few years back?

Frontman Davide "Dave Rox" Barbieri quotes: "Seven years have passed since the release of our second studio album, "Up For Anything". Seven long years where we never stopped writing new music, rehearsing together, playing live and believing in this band. This meant for us evolving both as artists and human beings, and this is something that inspired us to moving forward and creating this third official chapter. "Begin Again" represents a promising new beginning in our artistic career, that has been developed staying loyal to the sound and the style we all love: the great melodic rock music. I'm very proud of this work, and I can't really wait to share it to all the fans and friends around the world". "Begin Again" is scheduled for release on June 7, 2019 via Art Of Melody Music / Burning Minds Music Group.
