Would've been more interesting if they re-recorded those earlier songs with Erik doing vocals.

Not looking to rekindle the Kenny vs Erik debate.  I'd just like to hear Erik doing those songs....he brings a different style to them.

why the hell does the band like tracks 5, 12 & 16 so much ??!!

3 of their worst songs imo.

Would have been nice if they could have included all of the Japanese bonus tracks instead of live, demo and radio edits on the bonus CD.

Some of my favourite tracks by them have been on Jap releases.

FYI Miley, Too far on the wild side, Back into your arms, California & Shame.

Second that. Strange choice indeed...

Apart from "Beg Beg Beg," we all know "Tonight" is H.e.a.t's greatest song. So it's baffling as to why it's not on this compilation.

The probability is we will probably get some kind of b-sides, bonus tracks and outtakes album at some point put together by the record label. These kind of greatest hits packages etc rarely have full input from the bands, and the labels are always looking at a way to make more money out of people.

Look at Airbourne and their label. Released a box set of previous albums with a bonus disc of b-sides with no mention of the b-sides album ever being released on its own, then months later it sneaks out on its own. You cannot see that as anything other than the record label conning people to spend more on the box set  to get the tracks they don't own, and then releasing the single CD later to mop up any extra sales.

For me, songs that shouldn't have made it are...

There For You
Late Night Lady
Straight For Your Heart
Breaking The Silence
Inferno
Eye Of The Storm

Missing Songs...

Follow Me
Shelter
The One And Only
Heartbreaker
Downtown
Mannequin Show (how did this not get on?)
Laughing At Tomorrow
Redefined
Shit City
We Rule
Into The Great Unknown

"Mannequin Show (how did this not get on?)" - Because it's not very good? :D

It's really hard not to get over the "sounds like Britney spears" thing. I brought my friend to a gig and she immediately spotted the similarities, despite never having heard it before.

eye of the storm is one of my fav HEAT songs.

Laughing at tomorrow is the WORST song on that album

Yeah Eye of the storm is probably one of the best songs on the new album. Agree with you on Laughing at tomorrow.. I remember being so keen to hear it based on the studio session videos they were uploading for the album, but it just didn't work at all for me when I finally heard it. Such a weak ending to the album :(

What? That is one of the best songs on that album.

meh, we all like different songs.

I generally find that most greatest hits albums contain a bunch of songs that I'm not a huge fan of and some songs I really love are shunned.

Certainly not trying to convince anyone here that HEAT chose the wrong songs. Just putting my 2c in :)

over the years I've only ever really bought greatest hits albums of bands I wasn't massively into. Where I just wanted the 'singles' or best songs (mostly ;) )

bands like Queen, Thin Lizzy, REO, Motorhead, Deep Purple etc.

For a band like HEAT it's a no brainer to just buy everything cos 95% of their songs are awesome.

of course with the rise of Spotify etc no need to buy hits cds anymore as I have access to everything :)

Was Ratt 81 - 91 for me.

Here is Aus we never had massive exposure to Ratt.

I recall hearing Casey Kasem playing Round & Round on the radio, but I never really pursued them much,

Bought that GHits and really liked pretty much all of the songs on it. Then I explored the albums and didn't find too much more I was all that interested in.

Like Glenn, I tend to save them for bands I am not a die hard fan of. Eagles, John Lennon, Fleetwood Mac, Dr. Hook, etc Love the bands and the music, but happy to stick with the hits pretty much

    • I LOVE the callback to the debut in that artwork. Beautiful!
    • Glamfest is done. Couldn't make it financially viable. But their Facebook page promoted the potential tyketto tour. Not sure if they are handling the tour or just doing a nice thing. Time will tell. Didn't know The Used had been out before, missed that in the past. Hopefully I'll be around when they come out and can catch them.maybe they will support tyketto?
    • Is Glamfest meant to happen again? I’m assuming probably definitely not… well at least not same time as it was last couple of years. That’s a shame.    The Used used to come out all the time for stuff like Soundwave and Warped tour and stuff, if I recall correctly. Haven’t seen them for several years now, and they haven’t put out much music in that time either. Couple of good cuts on their latest album, though.
    • Tyketto returning to Australia. Also The Used coming out here. Both tours teased but not announced yet.
    • I watched the videos today... I dunno what to make of it. On one hand I don't think it's worth all the fuss, but I guess it gets a bit awkward due to the fact he is an actual vocal coach. Not a great look but I guess this is what happens these days. Just maybe not quite as common amongst vocal coaches, though...
    • I might try V4 again when I get credits again, but like I said above, also a bit keen to finish all the V3.5 stuff with V3.5. In saying that, though, I would be sad if V4 got good while I wasn't watching and did myself a disservice.  100% with you on that remaster wish. If they could accomplish that it would be dreamy. I still have so, so many results that are really cool, but I'm so down on the audio quality that I don't know what to do with them. Continually trying to cover them doesn't seem to work 99% of the time, plus you lose the end and have to recreate the entire end to the song.  Like you say, just to be able to keep everything about the song as it is, but get an awesome new remaster; it'd be perfect.  Haha, I was just thinking today I need to fix up my bandcamp page, lol. I put a band pic on there but wrote immediately underneath that it was just to create a vibe... but I haven't used it anywhere else and realised it wasn't an avenue I'll be pursuing.  Thanks! Yeah, I must admit that back when I was writing all those lyrics I always thought that one day I'd put the effort in, learn guitar and at least create some basic versions of those songs. That, of course, faded through the years, but this is the most ideal case scenario for someone in this position.  I still think most of my 200 tunes will probably remain unreleased, but I don't know. I go back and forth with it. Right now, just trying to sort through my 2001 songs and there's way more than one album from these sessions I'll want to release. If I could get the audio where I want it, possibly as many as three albums from just the 2001 sessions I'd be happy to release... but still all baby steps. Still several 2001 tracks I've not yet completed as I can't find them in my Library, lol. Even after cleaning it up a bit...  But yeah, I have always loved music a lot. I always said my three passions in life were photography, surfing and music but the music one always seemed a bit silly as it was just my love for listening to it, but it's awesome to finally get something tangible out of this love of mine too. I actually already miss writing new tunes while I'm trying to clear this whole backlog - cannot wait until I can just concentrate on the new stuff. I think some of my new songs from this year are actually pretty good - pretty "personal," though, which will be interesting to see how I handle when the time comes... Hmmm, tight. I thought I preferred #1 but back to back maybe the new one just edges it out, for me. I do like the chorus in V2 better. Two nice results, though.
    • Its the first & 2nd albums (Wildstreet & Wildstreet II) as a single release titled Origins as far as I've read, along with some rarities. https://www.eonianrecords.com/blog/wildstreet-release-origins
    • I mean Juno Roxas was hilarious making fun of this dude for a while. Lost a few Facebook accounts because of it lol Pretty sure he's related to Sammy Hagar
