An 18 minute song?? Good Lord. I wonder how many of those 18 minutes will be Bruce repeating the song title over and over and calling it a "chorus..."

I keed, I keed. Of course I'll be a first day buyer. It's Maiden goddammit. :masturbanana:

I'll be waiting for this cautiously but they didn't manage to make anything better than the great comeback of 'Brave New World'.

Won't expect much and probably a bit proggy judging on the minutes and perhaps will be around the same score with Final Frontiers at around 70%-ish mark

Why, yes - I think I WILL be picking this one up :)

Love me a bit of Maiden and they are still producing good music, but I just can't listen to Bruce's voice any more. He used to sound great, but on the last album his voice had become some screechy it was like fingernails across a blackboard. Two CDs worth would be torture.

That's a cool album cover.

I haven't returned to a maiden track since Fear of the Dark but i've checked out every album they've released so i'll check this one out too i expect

Love that cover!

After some of the dodgy covers they've had ('Dance Of Death' - ugh!), it's nice to see a 'classic' Maiden cover!

Of the 'reunion' material, 'Brave New World' is a cracking album ... 'A Matter Of Life And Death' and 'The Final Frontier' have both been strong ... and 'Dance Of Death' really isn't that good, in comparison to other Maiden albums ... I have high hopes for this one.

I thought that "A Matter Of Life And Death" had plenty of really good songs, but those vocals made listening to the whole thing in one sitting unbearable.

It's true. His voice is terrible these days. They should bring back Blaze. ;)

His voice is fine! You just have poor hearing or sumthin'. Bring back Blaze?? Are you serious??

That's one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever seen on this forum.

Re Blaze: oh dear.

Re Bruce: no, sorry, I can't stand his voice these days. Glad you still like it, but it really grates on me. He sounded so much better in the good old day of 'Somewhere In Time' and 'Seventh Son'.

True, he doesn't have the range these days (I'm not sure I'd enjoy hearing him belt out 'Where Eagles Dare', for instance), but I still like his voice ... it's a lot rougher now, and certainly a lot better than many vocalists out there ...

With a few months to go before the release of Iron Maiden‘s The Book of Souls, details are starting to slowly come out. The LP’s first single has just been announced, and the band released a picture of the hardback book that will accompany the Deluxe Edition. You can see a photo of that above.

Warner Music Norway reports that the single for “Speed of Light” will be available on Aug. 14, three weeks before the album’s Sept. 4 release date. The song is one of the two collaborations by Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson.

    • New video for 'I Can't Wait' coming later this week.
    • Ah, the old record label make a quick buck off bands they dropped years ago sets where they are just bare bones albums with no bonus material. I thought maybe I missed box sets with bonus stuff. But once again, still reasonably priced.

    • Dredging this up again, as you can now find this set new for about $50-60 shipped on eBay. I just finally bought it to get the 5.1 channel blu-ray version of the album. $179 for the set? No fucking way. But $50? Ehh, ok. more reasonable IMO.
