M3 has announced the dates of the festival this year. It will be held May 11th and 12th (Friday and Saturday). No bands have been announced yet.. I'll keep you posted as they become available. (I did hear that XYZ was playing).

I'll be doing my little pre-party on Thursday May 10th with a yet to be named (or booked) band.

I post this because hotels in the area are filling up fast. If you are thinking about making the M3 Festival this year you may want to book a hotel room.

More to come....

I wish I could go, but I highly doubt I will be able to. It sucks living where I do. Before Rocklahoma wussed out I was right in the middle of the action. If I ever want to experience that again it's inevitable that I will have to live elsewhere.

So is Rocklahoma dead now? I thought those first couple of years were successful but maybe not.

Although not official yet... It looks like QUEENSRYCHE will be the headliner on Saturday Night.

That's unfortunate. Tate's voice is shot and they play to much new stuff.

Maybe for a festival like this they would focus on the older more known songs from the early albums up through Promised Land.

I was a bit disappointed with this one too. I saw them a couple years ago when they did "Mindcrime" in it entirety and they were not good at all. To tell you the truth.. At last years show I spent all my time at the 2nd stage because most of the bands I wanted to see were back there. Looks like I may do the same this year.

Last year the back stage had Pretty Boy Floyd, Lita Ford, Big Noise (J.L. Turner & Co), Black N Blue, Faster Pussycat and a few others. The only bands on the main stage I cared about were Danger Danger, Jetboy, and KIX. I was also interested in Whitesnake... but they were horrible.

I hope they start adding some better bands... Like M. Monroe, Keel, XYZ,and Loudness

XYZ would be amazing but with Terry touring with Great White non stop don't know how many shows they'd play. I was hoping that after doing the one off original lineup show The Bulletboys would do a full tour but it appears they are all slinging mud at each other.

Well, I was just told by a fairly reliable source ( ) that Steel Panther is about to be added to the line up for M3 this year.

Man, Lita Ford on a back stage? That's just freakin' wrong.... :angry2: Not to mention the others. Sounds like a FU'd festival

I too thought Lita should have been a main stage act. I am actually glad she was on the 2nd stage as I thought the atmosphere was way better on the smaller stage. The bands on the 2nd stage didn't have any "rock star" attitude and they didn't seem to care at all that they were on the 2nd stage. They rocked 10 times harder than the bands who were on the main stage.

By months end they should be announcing 75% of this years line up for M3. I sure hope they step it up... I'm not crazy about the line up so far.

I hope they add KIX (they would be stupid not to), Black 'N Blue, Femme Fatale, Child's Play, Stryper, Keel, and Enuff Z'Nuff.

I have a feeling they may add Bang Tango and Lynch Mob...

  • 1 month later...

Seems as though Cinderella had to cancel M3. It appears Jeff has a medical issue that will keep the band sidelined. Looks like the rest of the Cinderella tour is off also.

L.A. Guns (Phil) and Great White (Terry) have been added to the bill. There is also suppose to be some type of all-star jam. Don Dokken & George Lynch on stage together maybe?

Isn't anyone from Heavy Harmonies going to this show..?

Dave I might go this year, I drive by Merriweather almost everyday. If nothing else just to see Night Ranger, Loudness, RATT and Dokken.

    • AMH is a relatively new band, and they released this single a few months ago; I want to know if any of you have seen these guys because I loved their debut earlier this year and want to get their name out more.  They're pretty much straight party rock that I think some of you will dig!  What do you think?
    • Honestly I like the vibe and groove this one gives off, sort of reminds me of their acoustic performances
    • I was on the train before, but for the record- 1. I prefer Steve Lee's voice over Harry Hess, purely as vocalists. Much respect for both, but I prefer Hess as the overall artist. 2. Coverdale over Tyler. Probably the only super easy pick without thought required. 3. Michaels over Vie. Another easy one, actually. Much as I love prime Enuff Z'Nuff and his unique voice, I wouldn't say I'm individually a mad fan of his vocals. Never had an issue with Michaels. 4. Robert Mason over Lane on a purely vocal level. Every single other aspect, Lane all the way. 5. Lewis over Pearcy. Really hard one. Possibly surprised myself here going with Lewis. Obviously neither are vocal powerhouses, but both iconic. It was thinking of Lewis on something like 'Over the edge' that made me lean that way. 6. Tate over La Torre. I'll be honest and say I've not heard the other dude much, but Tate did what he did very well. 7. Winger over Jovi. As close to a dead heat as there was. Ended up going with Winger thinking of something like 'Spell I'm Under,' but wicked close contest. 8. Malloy over Russell. Love both these guys, but on a purely vocal level had to go with Malloy. 9. Poley over Laine. Poley probably my favourite 80's hard rock vocalist and bit of a confession time... not the maddest Laine fan ever. Love him on 'Stick it in your ear' and even 'Cockroach,' but not as big a fan of him in more recent years. Guess the same could be said for Poley, but in their prime, Poley for me.  10. Joe Elliot over Heart. Another easy one. Love Elliot's voice but never been a fan of Heart's much at all. 11. Cathey over Logan. Two great vocalists, but I melt over Cathey's voice and with a bigger sample size he'd probably have been my favourite vocalist of the era. 12. Davis over Bulen (or is Keeling?). You stumped with with this one, mate. Have we ever heard Bulen sing on anything? I don't think I have. I just read he was actually the lead vocalist for Baton Rouge before they recorded anything and Keeling took over. So I assume you might have meant Keeling? In which case my answer's still the same.  Cool thread anyway. I enjoyed it.
    • I haven't bought any but I'm heavily considering Badd Boyz, I'm not the biggest Shortino fan but the samples I've heard from that one rock!  Based on samples, honestly Rough Cutt is probably the one I won't consider any time soon.  I don't like the sort of metallic effect on Shortino's voice in some songs if you get what I mean.  For the same reason I've avoided the Platinum Overdose albums where I think it's more noticeable.  I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else though so I'm not sure if I'm the only that gets bothered by it or maybe I'm just going insane
    • Geez mate, there were some really hard choices there, especially numbers 1, 4, 7 and 9. Nice job.
    • You've got a lot of catching up to do.
    • Another promotional track, this time from UKJ.
    • Anyone play Pokémon Go?   If so I’d like to expand my in game friends for sending gifts and trades and such.    Shoot me a pm and I’ll get you my user information.    Thanks
