Still VERY active as I just saw them this past Friday and Saturday night. In May they will headline a 17,000 seat venue with Warrant, LA Guns, & Jetboy opening.

The only non original member is the bassist. I considered listing KIX in this section too... but they are still just as good, if not better than they were 25 or so years ago.

I had 0 idea they were still an active band. Really? Then why don't they record a new disc?! I thought it was just Mitch Allan on his own these days.

And out of curiosity, who on earth do KIX no longer record new music?

As far as SR-71... I wouldn't say they are an "Active Band", but every now and then we get a local reunion show in their home town. Lucky to get one a year.

KIX doesn't record anything new because they can't. The only member not with them (Donnie on bass) owned the rights to the name KIX. Besides that, Donnie probably wrote 80% of the songs anyway. He always had the final say as to what songs would be released. The current band can use the name to tour but can not record under that name. The first "KIX reunion shows" that the band did without Donnie they actually went by the name "KIX FIX".

Probably more than you wanted to know...

Ah, I see. I do vaguely remember you saying something like that in the past. They should still try and record a new CD under the name KIXX.

Seriously, do they still write new material at all?

As for why I didn't include SR-71 in my list, refer to your first line. ;)

The close as you are going to get to new KIX tunes is Funny Money (who are working on new tunes). Three of the current members of KIX are in Funny Money.

Oh... almost forgot... They also did a few shows as "4/5 KIX" before they were allowed to use the KIX name again.

    • Motley Crue signed with the country label from Tennessee Big Machine Rec.. New song Dogs of War relased on Friday the 26th. Other than that don't ask me what there doing they did a little video of them signing contract and it doesn't include John 5 so he's not really part of Motley he's a hired gun..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3iDklwv1PI&t=2s
    • Thanks I was wondering why he went with this cover ...lol  I wouldn't have but again thats me ...lol But I will be buying this CD. Peace Guys ...
    • Not much information on the video's page, other than it appears to be an AI creation. Once it gets into the verse and especially the chorus, it's actually not too bad IMO.
    • While I appreciate your interest in contributing to the site, most of the artists and albums you are submitting are either REALLLLLLY stretching the boundaries, or as in the case of this band, completely off the mark. No alternagrunge. No punk. No death metal/power metal (although those can be submitted to Brutal Metal). You can always start a thread asking about a particular artist before blindly submitting it for inclusion. Thanks! -Dan

    • DEEP PURPLE Announces New Album '=1' - BLABBERMOUTH.NET DEEP PURPLE, one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, will release a new album, "=1", on July 19 via earMUSIC. The first single will be unveiled on April 30 at midnight, a taster for the full 13 tracks of pioneering and rip-roaring rock and roll. "=1" is the band's first album with sensational guitarist Simon McBride, who seamlessly slotted in when longtime member Steve Morse left due to personal circumstances. Since 2022, Simon has already played to DEEP PURPLE audiences totalling more than half a million people. ith three consecutive No. 1 albums in their back pocket and a resurgent new energy powering them forward, this is DEEP PURPLE at their pinnacle. "Now WHAT?!" (2013),"inFinite" (2017) and "Whoosh!" (2020) have sold over one million copies worldwide, making DEEP PURPLE one of the most successful rock bands currently active. The latest studio album, "Whoosh!", reached No. 1 on the album charts in seven countries and charted in the top 10 in another 12. "=1" track listing: 01. Show Me 02. A Bit On The Side 03. Sharp Shooter 04. Portable Door 05. Old-Fangled Thing 06. If I Were You 07. Pictures Of You 08. I'm Saying Nothin' 09. Lazy Sod 10. Now You're Talkin' 11. No Money To Burn 12. I'll Catch You 13. Bleeding Obvious In 2022 came the sad news of Steve Morse's departure due to personal circumstances, but DEEP PURPLE, never a band to let a set back throw them off course, sought out the masterful skills of guitarist Simon McBride and played the year out in style, exciting crowds with a new energy and excitement. Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey and Simon McBride continue with renewed vitality, pushing the boundaries of hard rock to audiences around the globe, proving that DEEP PURPLE are very much here to stay.
