Shane had it coming alright. In a way I would have loved to see him and Rick work it out, but he had already blown all chances. He brought it all upon himself.

did I miss something? I didn't start watching till about half way through season 1. so, how do people change without getting bitten?

That had me puzzled too, but from what I've gathered, it seems the virus is in everybody. Dying a normal death will also activate the virus. Now, the question is if Rick knew about this, but hasn't told anyone. Damn, I'm getting sick of all these lies in this series...

Someone on Facebook pointed out that the guy(played by actor Noah Emerich) at the CDC in the season one finale whispered someting in Rick's ear towards the end and that it might have been this very fact or the that the virus is airborne and can only be activated after you die.

Question for those familiar with the comic book series: Shane dies much earlier in the books, does he die the same way he did in the episode?

Also, I think the CDC guy told Rick his wife was pregnant. If the scientist had told him something like that about the virus I'm pretty sure Rick would let the rest of the group know that if a person dies make sure to bash their brains in, that's a pretty important thing to know for the safety of everyone. I could be wrong but doesn't Rick say to his wife when she finally told him she was pregnant that he's known for a while?

Yeah it was something that was speculated upon on another forum, I pretty much just passed it along. As you say, it doesn't really makes sense for him to withould that information for the rest of the group. The pregnant thing is more likely.

I'm just so happy that Shane and his destructive ways are finally gone, hopefully this will leave more space for other characters, like Daryl. I think him and Rick would make a good team!

yeah, I don't think there is any way that he knew you could turn without being bitten or he never would have turned his back on Shane like that .

Shane died early on in issue 6 is what I've read but I'm not sure how he died.

It was known with the actor joining a new show on TNT that he would be killed off soon but I love the way they did it. I read in another forum that Dale was killed differently in the comic as well and was eaten by some cannibals but they didn't know he was infected and then they were infected. I also read that Dale and the blonde actress Laurie Holden(can't remember the character name)eventually had a romantic relationship. That is something I am glad was changed.

I agree about the CDC guy and what he told Rick as that makes much more sense. Can't wait for next week it should be great!

Big finale tonight. Who will die? Who will live?

I'm going to assume that Hershel or some of the farm people will bit it tonight and they will move on from the farm in Season 3.

Does anyone ever watch The Talking Dead after the show?

I enjoy it and you get some cool insight from the actors or writers or whoever is in the studio.

My money on who's gonna be Zombie Chow: Herschel, T-Dawg, Sophia's Mom (I can never remember her name)....

Carl gives me the f**king creeps so I wouldn't be sorry to see him go, but I doubt they're gonna kill a kid on national TV...

So who all was saying "who the f*ck is this guy"???

And Rick did know about the disease. Oops on his part.

Damn good finale. But yet again, when you are surrounded by 100 vehicles, siphon some damn gas! Find a better vehicle!!

I'm DVRing the talking dead and will watch that later.

Mishoine is a girl and is leader of the prison people I think.

Agree on the gas situation but loved Rick not taking shit!

So riddle me this...

If you get bit by a walker, you (almost immediately) turn into a walker.

If you die by any other cause not involving your brain, you turn into a walker.

Yet, even though everyone has this virus in their body, they don't turn into a walker.

So what happens to your body when you get bit? It's not like you are suddenly getting the virus. That whole thing about everyone being infected isn't making sense to me at all. If that's the case, couldn't a non-walker Carl theoretically bite and draw blood on another member of the group and turn that person into a walker since he's already infected? Do you get more infected if you turn into a walker??

....aaaaand I was totally wrong on all three counts!! Haha. My crystal ball must need new batteries. Or maybe I need to start reading the graphic novels

I don't think the "bite" has much to do with it. You don't necessarily have to be bitten, you just have to be dead. Doesn't matter how.

Didn't that blonde hair girl's sister start to turn into a walker after being bitten? Or do you die from being bitten then turn into a walker? If you bite your tongue can you turn into a walker? Man, I am so confused.

I think as soon as the victim's brain dies, the virus that's already in the body "re-activates" it.

Just a theory.

Yep, I believe your theory is "dead" on. :P

*I was reading a recap of the season finale over at EW.com, and just LOVED this section:

I tried to keep track of how many zombies Daryl Motherf---ing Dixon killed. At one point, he fired eight shots at the zombie horde. Since he's Daryl Motherf---ing Dixon, we can safely assume every one of those shots killed a zombie, although it's entirely possible that he managed to kill two or three with only a single bullet.

Daryl MotherF'ing Dixon is almost as badass as Eric Brittingham, who would've been able to kill the entire herd of zombies with a single bullet.

What about Herschel and his "never empty" shotgun? I re-watched that scene a couple times and it appears he fires around 18 shells before he finally has to reload. It is possible he could have reloaded during a cutaway but as slow as he was reloading that last time I highly doubt it. Now that's one hell of a shotgun! :bigboom:

    • Well, the first two "Giant" albums are quintessential, as is the "Hardline" debut. Akdo Nova's "Blood on the Bricks" is one of my all time favourites, Lizzy Borden is awesome as is the Mark/Marcie Free fronted "King Kobra".
    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. Aldo Nova Badlands Baby Tango Baton Rouge Black N Blue Britney Fox BulletBoys DAD Giant Hanoi Rocks Hardline Jetboy King Kobra Kingdom Come Lillian Axe Lizzy Borden Loudness Love Hate Quireboys Saigon Kick Santa Cruz Shotgun Messiah SleezeBeez SouthGang Tiger Tailz TNT Vain White Tiger
    • New song 'Chase The Sun'.
    • Super Sabre - Sugar and Spice *This is actually a full album, “Chasing the Rabbit”, with a complete band backstory included in the YT description. “Sugar and Spice” is the opening track…
    • EP out August 16th on Black Lodge Records. Since the release of the album "Now!", Roulette has embarked on a remarkable musical journey. Over the years, released several digital singles, each contributing to the evolving story of the band. As Roulette gear up for the new summer single "Love's The Drug", we're thrilled to announce the release of our special collection, the EP "From Now Until Today". This EP gathers all the singles released since "Now!", encapsulating the essence of Roulettes latest musical explorations. For the loyal fans, the physical releases also included a special bonus track that you won't find anywhere else-exclusively on this EP. Tracklist: LOVES THE DRUG READY FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIFE WILL GO ON SUMMER DAY TEST OF TIME
    • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
