BLUE TEARS - SELF TITLED / MAD BAD & DANGEROUS

DEF LEPPARD - HYSTERIA / ADRENALIZE

SKAGARACK - HUNGRY FOR A GAME / A SLICE OF HEAVEN

Tree ground breaking albums & must haves for any serious fan of Hard Rock :beerbang:

Well agree with you on SKAGARACK, but definitely not on the other 2. I thought the only BLUE TEARS album worth bothering with was the debut.

I know others have mentioned it, but the only 2 filler-free back-to-back discs I can see mentioned are HAREM SCAREM's first 2.

I love the HS debut & sophomore but.......... I dont find them filler free, there's easily one track in each of those that I feel could have benefoted album by being left out.

But the same applies to "Adrenalize"? You can't tell me that "Make Love Like A Man" is a great song - surely?!

The thread isnt entitled 'name 2 filler free back to back albums from any artist'.

To be honest I dont think that exists.

If you are going down that route then out of my list the closest is Threshold Subsurface / Dead Reckoning...both are virtually filler free.

The HS combo certainly isnt. The second half of Mood Swings has at least 2 tracks which dip massively in quality to these ears. The only filler free HS album IMO is 'Higher'....although most would disagree, that for me is their best album...and most consistent across the 10 tacks on offer.

Cheers

Sorry mate, good as "Higher" is the first track is frankly rubbish & totally spoils it. You're right about the thread title, I was just playing devil's advocate....

There are plenty of bands that delivered excellent back to back discs (eg. Skid Row, Warrant, Victory, Fate etc.) but my faves of the bunch would be:

Amaze Me - s/t / 'Dream on' / 'Wonderland'

Bon Jovi - 'New Jersey' / 'Keep the faith'

Bonfire - 'Fireworks' / 'Point Blank'

Danger Danger - s/t / 'Screw It' / 'Cockroach'

Dokken - 'Under lock and key' / 'Back for the attack'

Harem Scarem - s/t / 'Mood swings'

Loud & Clear - s/t / 'Disc-connected'

Steelhouse Lane - 'Metallic Blue' / 'Slaves of the new world'

Treat - 'Dreamhunter' / 'Organized crime'

Vain - 'No respect' / 'Move on it' (or 'All those strangers' - either way all are perfect)

Wig Wam - '667... Neighbour of the beast' / 'Wig Wamania'

Cauterize - 'So far from real' / 'Paper wings' / 'Disguises'

Hinder - 'Extreme behaviour' / 'Take it to the limit'

Just Surrender - 'If these streets could talk' / 'We're in like sin'

SR-71 - 'Now you see inside' / 'Tomorrow' / 'Here we go again'

The first one that comes to mind is AC//DC "Highway to Hell" and "Back in Black"....What is truly amazing is that these 2 releases feature 2 different vocalists after Bon Scott's death...

You can even pre-date Highway to Hell with Powerage and Let There Be Rock and follow Back in Black with For Those About to Rock and Flick of the Switch. :headbanger:
