Stumbled across this old thread by complete accident this morning. Having just listened to a really nice guitar solo, I thought I'd try to resurrect it...

Stumbled across this old thread by complete accident this morning. Having just listened to a really nice guitar solo, I thought I'd try to resurrect it...

Too bad I'm just listening to the new Sister Sin album which doesn't have any good guitar solos. Or guitar solos at all. :D

Scrap that, my mistake; must have been getting it mixed up with another song. Still a good song, but the solo is minimal, to say the least.

This is frustrating - as soon as I saw Glen's post I thought I must know some good guitar solos that don't fit the songs ... but I can't think of any. It's good and bad, I suppose. The solo should fit the song, but a smokin' guitar solo is a smokin' guitar solo! :guitar:

Really? Just had a listen as I hadn't played the song for ages (far too long, such a great tune). I think the solo fits in pretty well ... especially how it runs back into the song (if that makes sense). I suppose it's all about taste though.

 

Kind of agree about 'Mirror Mirror'. Not a great song and the solo is by far the best thing about it!

Thought I'd come up with one eventually ... here's a song where the solo really doesn't fit imo. Really like the song and the solo though.

You could have just listened to Blessed By A Broken Heart - hardly any of their solos fit.................or Dream Threatre lol !!
