Im spinning the AWESOME Rain - house of dreams, for the first time in ages. Damn these songs are awesome!! But i always knew the production wasnt great, but id forgotten how bad it was! Its shocking! How can such a great album with a big name like Bormann have such a crap demo like production?

I'd like to know this too. They're obviously demo recordings, but why were they not spruced up for this realease?

And I agree, this album has some of the best songs Bormann has ever recorded. The hooks all over this thing are just perfect.

As great as the songs are, the disc is just plain unlistenable because of the juvenile production. A real shame!!

Is this the disc with the song Ain't Found Heaven Yet on it?

Yes. Great song too. Great pity, this CD, as the songs are excellent.

I was gonna pick this one up but there's nothing I hate more than a terrible production.....

Buy it. Worst production ever. Best songs ever.

There's some good tunes on it, but that's about it. I'll take the "Stronger" album any day. Remonds me of a good Charade/Jaded Heart combo.

It's hard for me to get past poor production. Sometimes it just takes time, I mean I love Edguy's Tinnitus Sanctum. How much worse can this be?

Really? I think im one of the biggest Edguy fans on the planet! and have always had a spot in my player for them since I first heard Kingdom Of Madness, I think in 97, now that's not even close to what they would evolve into, but I was very very nervous after Hellfire Club, as upon the first listening to that disc, my only thought was, "HOLY FUCKING CHRIST!! how will they ever top this? this is their pinnacle album" and while being more commercial, and not really anything like Hellfire, at least Rocket Ride produced some of their best overall song's ever, The first bad feeling I had in my gut about TS, was when I read an interview with Tobias, I don't remember exactly the dates and times, but paraphrasing, he said they were going to start writing songs, then go into the studio, and all in all it boiled down to they should have the complete process done recorded and released all in about a 4 week time span!!! I knew Tinnitus Sanctum was going to sound, rushed, half assed, with mediocre songs, how long did they take on Hellfire? wasnt it like almost a year? then on top of that, he stressed the point that it wasnt going to be anything like their early stuff, they dont see the need to play heavy just to be heavy! well that didnt bother me on Rocket Ride, because the songs were there, but I listend to TS once all the way through, then anytime ive tried to give it another chance, I get about 4 or 5 songs into it, and HAVE TO STOP IT, and put on Hellfire! it's like giving a heroin addict fake heroin! after he does it, he's feinding 10x more for the real thing! sorry to rant, it's just my point is Rain has terrible production, and yes knowing how Mike B is today, is very suprising, but the song's are there, and it would be great if somehow he would re-record it now, but only if he did an exact re-record, cause you can clearly tell that Rain disc suffers from inexperience and possibly lack of access to better equipment, but that too is not acceptable, because I can take a cheap condenser mic, and figure out a way to make it sound as good as an expensive condenser mic, so it had to have been inexperience, but the songs are clearly worth him pondering over the thought? I'd support it!

What isnt that bad? Edguy's TS? or Rain? they arent even the same genre of music, for one thing, I thought of Edguy's TS the only thing good about it was the production, Rain cd, yes the productions piss poor, and very amatuer sounding! You can't give someone a cd like Hellfire Club, then give them TS and expect anything other then disgustingly bad reviews! it's better then most out on the market yes, in America that aint saying much, but why would anybody even listen to it, when they have Mandrake, Rocket Ride, and without a doubt, one of the greatest cd's ever released, Hellfire Club? answer, because theyve never heard those 3 cd's!

I was talking about TS yes.

Bad reviews? I thought it was a good album. Not as good as Hellfire Club.... but nowhere near what you are saying.

Like I said, I didnt hear one thing on it that made me thing "fuck yes! this is good" when I first heard Rocket Ride, although it started off with a kind of weak track, by the time The Asylum started I had my Jeep shaking so hard I thought the windshield was going to shatter! nothing even remotely had me doing that on TS! I was just let down, Im not saying it's a bad album, like its not got talent, im just saying theres not 1 song on that whole album that did anything to me other then make me stop it and put in Hellfire!

'Tit In His Scrotum' isn't a bad album, just very run-of-the-mill and average. I think only that ballad about the rose stood out for me and the rest just went in one ear and out the other.

Ain't that the story of your life?

What? Did you say something?

But in all seriousness, yes, this is sadly how I roll. It's not my fault the human race bores me. I remember random facts about porn and music and that's about the extent of it. And pugs. Did you know that in ancient China pugs were actually designed and created for the amusement of their masters? They were bred and mixed up in order to be jesters for the emperor's amusement. No wonder they rule so much.

    • From Iconoclassic Records FB page: Survivor lead singer Jimi Jamison's previously unreleased 2007 country-rock solo album! Entirely written and produced by fellow former Survivor bandmate Jim Peterik.  After leading Survivor to the top of the charts in the mid-'80s, powerhouse vocalist Jimi Jamison reunited with Jim Peterik to cut... a country-rock album? The concept seems perplexing, yet it makes perfect sense. The singer was born Jimmy Wayne Jamison in smalltown Mississippi. Those who knew him best said that you could hear his Southern roots, no matter what he was singing. Today's country music often blurs the line between true old school country, pop, and straight up rock & roll. The same is true with 'Jimmy Wayne Jamison,' which at times, doesn't stray too far from the Jimi Jamison that we all know and love so dearly.  All track versions are previously unheard. Second release in the Jimi Jamison Archive Series. Coming on August 23, Jamison's birthdate.   Tracklist 1. Live Life 2. Love You All Over The World 3. Runaway Train 4. Strong At The Broken Places 5. I Wanna Touch You There 6. Heart Of A Woman 7. Sound Of Home 8. Alive 9. Till You Love Someone 10. Come Dancing 11. A Kiss To Remember You By #jimijamison #Survivor #jimpeterik #melodicrock #countryrock #southernrock #aor
    • I'm happy the do different stuff. Otherwise what they do would get old. Tesla proved how easy it is to make and album have a def Lep feel. And I loved that album, as a one off. And I loved slang as well. Variety is the spice of life 😁
    • Ohh nice, hoping the new recent singles will be on this one.
    • New album out September 20th through Frontiers.
    • I agree. Ultimately, I think bands become sort of what they "really" want to become and move toward the "mean" so to speak.  Leppard always said that they wanted to be like Queen in that they weren't constrained by having to make certain types of songs.  It was probably that desire to go outside the box that allowed Pyromania and Hysteria to happen in the first place.   And it's probably what's caused them to jump around with different style songs throughout the years.  I think it would've happened that way regardless.   Who knows though.  Maybe Steve would've influenced things a little bit as his Led Zep and Jimmy Page influences might've trickled in more.  And who knows what could've happened if Mutt stuck around for a couple more albums too....he was probably the most important piece in the puzzle.  They were already changing lanes though even with Steve and Mutt in the fold.  I think they've still shown they're capable of doing more classic sounding stuff if they want to with songs like Promises, Paper Sun, Dangerous, Take What You Want, etc being a few examples.    Either way, I'm just happy they've kept it going for nearly 50 years.  It has to be tough staying inspired and coming up with new song ideas for that long so that's kind of why I think the course they took would've naturally happened either way.
    • What are the chances...no sooner than I got these from the band that Eonian annouce that they'll be issuing them  https://www.eonianrecords.com/ Their new single - Out Of Touch https://wantedbandofficial.bandcamp.com/track/out-of-touch
