Chavis Records

Ok, back on May 8th, I ordered Sonic X - Thirteen and American Angel - Vanity directly from the Chavis Records site. About 2 weeks later, I got the Sonic X, but as of today, I still have not received the American Angel. Back on June 2nd, I enquired as to when I could expect AA (since it wasn't included in my initial shipment), and got this from the Chavis Sales staff:

AA should arrive from Sony in a week. It will ship to you automatically. It

was delayed at the manufacturer. My apologies.

Well, no f'n CD yet... anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone out there have this CD in their hands yet?

Just got this from the fine folks at Chavis:

"The CD is being shipped from Sony as of today 6/21. While I understand your issue, I can only go buy what we're told from the manufacturer. There were a few problems with the layout which caused it to be delayed. I can refund your money ASAP if you would like. Or your CD will ship once it arrives. Please let me know. Thank you"

Ok, that's all well and fine, but why not send out a press release letting your customers know of the problems, instead of leaving everyone in the dark? You know, one of those press releases that I get at THREE different email addresses that I NEVER even signed up for! <_<

Hmm, if you take "Chavis" and remove the C, h, a, v, & s. Then add L, o, n, n, and e... Holy shit! Coincidence? I think not...

Seriously though, at least you got a note back Mike, I sent the same kind of message a few days ago and got nada for an answer... I'm pretty sure I'll get it eventually, but the customer service leaves some to be desired... I agree with the thought about sending out an email blast to all the pre-orderers just to keep us in the loop. Would it have been that hard?

I see AOR Heaven in Germany has them, but we who preordered months ago are still waiting.

I learned my lesson regarding preordering way back in the 90s when D2: "Four the Hard Way" was released. Excited as a virgin on his wedding night, I preordered the thing directly from the band, lured there by the promise of saving a few bucks, getting it before anyone else, and receiving an autographed photo of the band. Well, I kid you not, I didn't receive my copy in the mail until the CD had been available everywhere else for at least 6 wks. I did save a few bucks, but I sure as monkey stink didn't get it before anyone else, and the photo they sent didn't have a single autograph on it. When I complained, Ted Poley responsed, "Sorry, we were out on the road and unable to ship the preorders." Nice, real nice. That was the last time I preordered anything. I now avoid it like gay hermaphroditic porn... :butt:

Dunno if it's a case of getting it before anyone else, there's just some CD's that you just can't wait to hear.

I know that's the case with me, I've got the new Robbie Valentine on pre-order simply coz I wanna hear it, if someone beats me to it then it doesn't bother me in the least. Half the time I have to wait a little for stuff due to cash flow but some take priority hahaha!

I Pre-ordered Bon Jovi's 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong and had to wait a whole month, that was getting up everyday waiting, for a month....(i was 13 and it was the first bon jovi album id get, id only heard Blaze of Glory and seen the Wembley DVD up to that point)

because theyd pushed the release back by two weeks, and then the postal service went on strike.

when it arrived i sat there for 3 hours listening to every single song on those CDs.

although, i pre-ordered Stone Sours Come What(ever) May and got that the day it was released, so it all worked out...

That's what I meant by "get it before anyone else." I don't really care if someone hears a CD before me, but when I'm really looking forward to a CD, I want it as soon as possible, and in the case of the D2: "Four the Hard Way" album, the band promised I would have it "weeks before it hits stores" if I would just preorder it. Instead, everybody and their brother owned the CD a month and a half before I gots mine. Luckily, it was well worth the wait. But I certainly learned my lesson about preordering.

ummm , is it really that big of a deal to get a cd BEFORE anyone else?

NOT trying to start anything - just asking a question.

Yeah, that's not the point. I pre-order CDs so I can get them the first day they're out because I'm dying to hear new material from the band... and you think if you fork out the $$$ and show such support for the band the least they can do is make sure you have it on the same day it's released to everyone else.

Mark, I have exactly the same situation with the new Cauterize CD. I pre-ordered the fucker ages ago and every man and his donkey and every shop in the world now has it in stock now - has had it for weeks, while I still haven't see it and probably won't for another few weeks. I'm actually really pissed off at the moment. I probably could have bought it elsewhere, or off ebay by now and already had it. Yeah, I get a free acoustic disc and maybe autographs too, but I just want to hear the f*cking songs!!!

Got mine, listening to it now. Up to track 3, too early to tell but so far, so good. :)

I wasn't really expecting a big, thick production like the debut, but this by no means sounds bad. Lot of guitars in the mix, can't be all bad right? ;)
