  1. Worlds worst band name?
  2. Looks to be a compilation of everything they've done
  3. Where you see this? Not seeing anything on their Facebook or website...
  4. Bon jovi - work for the working man Yeah right.... And then charge a months wages for a ticket.
  5. Had a listen to a pre-release of this one quite a while back. Wasn't really pure sleaze or rock n roll. I thought it has a hardcore superstar meets the living end sorta feel to it. Whilst I quite liked their sound I did think the tracks were all too similar. A bit of variety would have done wonders for the album.
  6. I listened to it on line for the first time and thought it was actually better than expected. There were 2-3 songs I couldn't really get into but the rest i thought were pretty cool. I actually like the vibe of the album. It's definitely got a garage-punk feel about it, which I guess is what they were back in the 'bad sneakers' days. I can see how people who got into the for the last 3-4 albums will dislike it, and those that were into the from the albums prior will actually dig this one. There are actually quite a few HCSS fans out there that despise the last 3-4 albums and have wished for them to return to their original sound. This album will surely be music to their ears.
  7. Not totally sold on listening to some of these songs in isolation, but I reckon this is gonna be one of those that needs to listened to as an 'album' in full.
  8. Wake up Geoff! VOJ were awesome....
  9. Damn... i thought it was the French band 'French Kiss" making a return. They were brilliant, but disappeared before they debut album.
  10. Maybe who ever was pouring $ into them stopped. They just disappeared...
  11. Saw this yesterday. Looks like there's no hard feelings there
  12. last i looked shipping was too much so haven't been back. i recall they had a free shipping weekend a while back but stuff i wanted was outta stock.
  13. Try telling that to people selling Pretty Boy Floyd 'Bullets n Lipstick' or Lancia boots for $100+. PBF 'Bullets' cds used to turn up on ebay maybe one a month if you were lucky. But they were constantly on there, multiples at a time, over the past 1-2 years after being booted.
  14. When we were naming our little one we made a short list of names we liked and had heard in passing. For example if I was listening to a cd I would think of what all the band members names were and then if something jumped out, it would go on the list. Not that we were naming the child after the musician, but used him for the inspiration of the name. From about 10-12 names on the shortlist we ended up with 'Oscar', which... for the record was added to the list after listening to the Hell City Glamours. We now have another one on the way which means the process has started again.
  15. Not buying too much these days, but saw the Richie Sambora cd + lp set on ebay and couldn't resist.
  16. and stop here in Adelaide. If you recall 'Waynes World' ... well, ....we're Delaware!
  17. i've seen lots of trusted seller selling these aswell. Or it just so happens that they start selling a handful of the exact same rare cds that have been booted at the same time. Flick thru the sellers other items and you can sometimes tell.
  18. I'm not suggesting travel to get another job somewhere. I'm suggesting travel for travels sake. Pick up 'itenerant' work along the way if need be.... fruit picking, bar work, farm work. You don't need experince for that... just work ethic. I travelled for a year,... the first part of it quite structured and the 2nd half of it not knowing what I was doing the next day or where I was gonna sleep. I never once ended up without a bed or hanging out with some great people. I budgeted on $50 a day (some days more, some days less), stayed in backpackers hostels and had the thrill of a lifetime. Lots of europeans come to australia and follow the fruit and farm seasons around getting cash in hand, exploring the country and having a brilliant experience. You sound like you are in the perfect situation to do such a trip not having a young family or mortgage to look after. Break free of the corporate chains you are shackled in. In the end if it doesn't work out or you don't like it you can always head home. But i've never known anyone who has travelled and regretted it, but I know many many people who have regretted not travelling.
  19. My tip..... Travel. Pack your backpack, head over to Europe, Asia, Australia.... or somewhere to shake things up a bit. Get outta the walmart syndrome you are in and see a bit or the world you would never otherwise see. In the end you'll wonder why you ever sat in 1 spot for so long. And the US dollar is amazingly strong against most currencies at the moment!!!! Do it Do it Do it!
  20. I saw something about Ana Black finally gettting a release...
  21. I got into them around the time of 'No Regrets' so returning to their old style is not an issue to me. I love the debut... It's had more trashy punk elements. It's like comparing Too Fast For Love to Dr Feelgood in production. The only disc that didn't jump out at me is 'thank you' althought there are a few songs on there I love.
  22. Can the mods please move this to the "What CDs did you buy this week?" thread
