  1. i group them with other radio-rock bands like Nickleback, Matchbox 20 and Bon Jovi these days. Yeah, its rock,... but pretty ordinary 'rock by the numbers'. I find their song writing really 'boy band like' with inspirational stuff like 'hero', 'learn to fly', 'all my life', 'times like these'. Hardly ground breaking stuff... but as i said 'rock by the numbers'. They're the Poison for the new generation.
  2. I still cant justify spending $20+ on shipping for a $5 cd. No matter how you explain it too me. Ebay need to implement and option where buyers can either opt in or opt out of registration/insurance and thereby take on the risk themselves. I'm not gonna worry about insurance for a $5 disc, but I would for a $50+ disc. The solution is so simple, but reducing shipping costs reduces ebays slice of the pie.
  3. That album cover can throw you off. I would never have gave this a look based on the album cover. Thanks for sharing. Will have to hunt a copy down. True, the album cover does not say hard rock or sleaze at all. I wouldn't say it's as good as early britny fox or Cinderella, but if you like them you should like this.
  4. Major N.A. - s/t (1993) Why haven't I been told about this one before?!?! What great disc! Like a Swedish version of britny fox, or a less bluesy Cinderella. Plenty of gnr and nasty idols in there too A couple of fillers towards the end of the disc, but overall a greatly under rated piece of early 90s hard rock / sleaze. $6-7 according to the main site is a steal! Comments on the main site comparing it to ac/cd..... Far from it IMO.
  5. Did you like that at all? Jeez I was disappointed with it. I didn't even like a single song on it. Just demo-ish rubbish from start to end, imo, of course. Didn't realise Valerie released a new CD. Was that referenced at all on this forum anywhere? I'd love to hear that too. Average debut, but they offered potential for sure. Only given it a back-ground listen and it sounded quite good to me. That's why it's sitting in the 'possibles' at the moment and not the "definite' or 'likely' lists. When i've only got 3 definites, there's a lot of room for movement.
  6. I think it also comes down to what you're selling. $5 cds that's a great way to ship. $50 cd, probably worth $10-12 to ship. Back to the op, it was a $5 cd that had $20+ shipping cost on it. Seller might have been making a bucks on postage but was probably losing double that by discouraging people to bid.
  7. i'm actually struggling to fill a top 10 at the moment. Although my purchases have been majorly reduced this year. Definite: Pretty Wild Bulletrain Confess Likely to make it but not heard in full: Hell In The Club Crazy Lixx Possibles: Rockstars From Mars Hansel Laced In Lust Nasty Nuns Yet to hear (but on the radar): Laneys Legion White Widdow HEAT Brother Firetribe Dynazty White Trash Presidents Valerie Falling Red

  9. Doesn't that fact that people are all hanging their hats on albums that aren't out yet (white widdow, crazy lixx) just show that it's hasn't been a great year.
  10. so how is Sax able to do international shipping at $5 first disc and $1 for each additional? It always confuses me why there are so many prices at rates from the US.
  11. At $21 I must be paying for the pizza that they are eating whilst packing the CDs.
  12. Don't u just re-use packing and materials? Surely no one on here would need to purchase and charge for new packing materials every sale.
  13. Has this been the worst year in hard rock since.... Well.... Ever?
  14. so then how can some US mail order companies sell some new / current cds for $12-13 shipped? (eg I order the Corabi unplugged cd for about $US12 shipped)
  15. Yeah, this seller wants $21 for 1 cd USA to Australia. I ahve since received a reply from them saying that's the price. I recently purchased a cd from someone in the US who wanted about $60 for shipping.I went to the USPS website myself and showed them the link where it could be shipped for about $12 (or as low as about $8). They said that in the store the workers were directing them toward the most expensive option and not actually telling them the cheaper options were even available. But yes... importing cds not really viable these days. Shipping is now more than the cds.
  16. Have sent a pm about shipping options to Australia thru eBay but got no response. Wondering if they're a member here? Keen to bid ....but looking to clarify the $21 shipping cost for 1 cd.
  17. My faves are "From the Bottom of My Heart" and "Joannas Secret". The latter has a real intense 'Rocket Queen' vibe IMO.
  18. I just ordered the Ep and demo from their website last week. Hopefully arriving soon.
  19. WTF are they thinking using that as their promo shot...!?!!?!?
