  1. What a fucking joke. Happens every single fucking time... Surf's been fucking perfect all week. I get a daily update on my email and each day it's been 4-6 foot, perfect off-shore conditions, waves so delicious you'd eat them as you surfed... today's still good around 3-4 foot and clean. Now I hear that tonight it's meant to fucking drop off to be about 1-2 foot all fucking weekend long. Seriously, how the fuck does the ocean know what days are weekdays and what the weekend is? 'Cause I know the c*nt does this on purpose, every fucking time. Ocean, fuck you.
  2. You'll get the CDs from them, plus you'll get the special pat on the back trophy from me. ROFL, you just won everything! ZOMFG, what a day for you! Yaaaaay.
  3. Except this time with good hooks, choruses and memorable songs!
  4. WOO YOURE BACK! now please stroke Geoffs chin and leave again. Mmmmmmmm. Yeah, I like that.
  5. well the disc is 8 tracks and theres at least another 2 tracks floating around which makes a very nice 10 track cdr. Right up there with Shinedown. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Gave the 10 tracks a spin last night and I like this. Looking forward to many more spins.
  6. Wow, I thought you'd brought it back to life to tell me they were back together. Odd time to bring a DVD out - hope it means there is hope for a reunion. But as you say, as long as it sounds like their early days and not 'Animal'.
  7. Yep I'm pretty negative about the last album ("Lip Service" was great though). I'm not a big fan of bands making the same album time & time again, I expect them to progress a little, and Gotthard don't really do that. I know 99% of HH regulars love bands that still play the same style of Hard Rock as they did back in the day, but my view is that if they're just gonna keep repeating the formula each time then I'd rather just buy their best album & play that. Stick PC69 into that category too. Frankly, "Domino Effect" was patchy at best, pretty dull & unmemorable at worst... P.s. They are still a stunning live band. Wow dood, I sure as maggots wouldn't say these guys are making the same album at all. A lot of guys here love the 'G' and 'Dial hard' era but I tell you now I wouldn't bother with this band if they were still making albums like that. Both are very different to the melodic hard rockling debut; 'Open' was an album full of ballads; 'Homerun' was an almost Bon Jovi-esque melodic rock gem; 'Human Zoo' and 'Lipservice' were, I guess, similar in melodic hard rocking style but still easily set apart from each other with some great songs; and 'Domino Effect' was a much ballsier album than the last two, albiet with a few ballads to water it down. It was almost like 'G' or 'Dial Hard' but with good songs and strong choruses. I, for one, think they've made a great effort to keep from becoming stale. As for Matty-Boo's query, it sounds like they may have gone heavier again. Which would be awesome. As long as they keep their ear for melody in tact I'll be listening. It's odd to be defending these guys because as much as I like them I always thought they were well over-hyped (Goddamn it's a good disc but I do I think 'Lipservice was over-hyped!), but hey, here I am. Great band and one of the more reliable in the genre these days.
  8. ... shot. KABAAM! Somebody get that lady a tissue.
  9. That quote is Copyrighted - fuck off and get your own Yeah, I think we have a sore loser on our hands. Poor widdle eyesy wisey. As for Stage Dolls I agree with Tim that 'Get a life' was a little patchy, but my word did the good songs hit home. Some real gems on that one. I also agree their entire discography is patchy too, but the s/t disc is amazing and they always had enough good songs to make each album well worthwhile. A band I always had a soft spot for.
  10. I don't know much about anything, but I'm pretty much 99% sure it was never silver pressed. I also have the CDR... good stuff.
  11. My poor co-workers. Obviously everyone's heard about poor Michael Jackson and the first thing my co-worker says 'It's so sad because he didn't know the Lord.' Chist all f*cking mighty... I'm working in a loony bin!
  12. Backed. Hmm, count me in that group as well. Agreed but also throw Singer in me too Oh yeah! At least I hope the new one will be better than "Psycho Circus"... Yep, backed. For me, KISS is all about 1982 - 1992.

  14. These are my two favorites also. I love this dude's voice too and feel that at times he sounds like Eddie Smith, especially on Nowhere Fast. Okay, I hate to reveal my lack of knowledge... who's Eddie Smith? I've heard comparisons to Kal Swan, Graham Bonnet, and a few others, but this is a new one. What about the dude from Bombay Black? I know there are a few backing vocals from him which may cloud my view, but I also think there are a few times where he really sounds like him.
  15. I can't say I really know enough about either to vote here - I try to avoid both like hell, but for music alone I can definitely give the nod to Jackson. I hate everything I know from Elvis but there's a few genuinely good pop songs in Jackson's discography. Always move a little when I hear 'Billie Jean' for example.
  16. It's my favourite album of the year so far. I've put the question out there several times now and still had no reply as to what makes these lyrics inferior to the rest of the lyrics in the music we listen to. Until someone can validly tell me why there is less merit in Steel Panther's lyrics than anyone else's it will remain at the top of my 2009 list too... unless someone records an album which is as good as 'Feel The Steel' this year. Simple as that. The songs are the best I have heard in 2009. Tails off a little at the end..........that's the only reason it wont top my list. 'Asian Hooker' is probably my fav song of the year so far........cant get the pesky little ditty out of my head. Yeah, killer song. One of the best of the year no doubt. As for the end, 'Girl from Oklahoma' and 'Hell's on fire' are two of the album's best. The only 3 songs off this that won't make my Ipod are 'The shocker', 'Eatin' ain't cheatin' and 'Fuck all night (Party all day)'. The rest (8 songs!) is on my Ipod without question which is BY FAR the highest showing from any CD I've heard this year. For me, there is no question it's the best CD of the year so far. WTF...I love Fuck All Night! Total rip off, but its marvellous. Hells on Fire was one of my least favs actually cos the lyrics werent smutty enough - LOL! Im still struggling to put this above albums like Place Vendome and Farcry....which are virtually filler free. Oh and I love The Poodles newie as well. Cant wait for them to wipe Rock City off the face of the Earth come October! Yeah, as I said in another thread, the 'Hey hey hey's put 'Fuck all night' out of contention for me. Maybe minor to some, but it's the main hook in the song and doesn't suit me. I still love the song because as I said, lyrically and musically it is awesome - I LOVE the tale of his mom warning him against sexual disease and the details of his itchy balls, just brilliant... but I'm just really picky when it comes to things like that 'Hey hey hey' bit. Place Vendome and Farcry are next on my list too. There is barely a poor track on all 3 albums, but as I said above, Steel Panther definitely have the biggest presence on my Ipod with outright gems. As for 'Hell's on fire', yeah, after 'Eyes of a panther' it's the tamest on the disc but I still love it. One of my favourite lines on the whole CD is where he sings of it being so hot you can fry and egg on the floor - Mmmm, I like 'em scrambled! I laugh aloud each time I hear it. Lyrics aside, though, killer melodic rock verses... as in first class stuff, imo.
  17. In this day and age of mobile phones that you can put MP3s on like a normal MP3 player, and use them as ringtones, why would anyone still be buying ringtones? Just dont understand it. Yeah, I actually figured that out at work yesterday, went home and decked the f*ck out of my phone. Now I just have to figure out how to get snippets of songs rather than just intros. I woke up to the alarm on my phone this morning, which is 'I want your tits' by Steel Panther... thanks to you, my good man! Exactly the argument that splits the 2 sides mate - I have to agree with you on all your points to be honest, as do others, but the SP fanboys will (and have) had something to say about that To be honest this album is excellent. Sing along choruses, funny as hell and just some great great songs. The only thing which is keeping it off top spot is one or two weaker tracks towards the end. Up to 'Turn Out The Lights' tho it just plain rocks. 'Hell's on fire' is a killer closer, though. And 'Stripper girl' is a brilliant ballad! Okay, and it has to be said. I know I'm a broken record, but so is this argument. No one is calling Steel Panther clever. I doubt severely that was ever their aim. However, they are "clever" enough to have recorded a better album than 90% of these other "clever" bands they're probably being compared to. And lyrics a 13 year old kid could write, as opposed to what? Is a 13 year old kid not also capable of writing the rest of the stuff we listen to on this site?
  18. Oh yeah, that was one thing I did notice. Great solos, and a few of them too. I'll give it a better spin, mate. Was a little pre-occupied yesterday but I did like what I heard.
  19. worn as fuckin ear muffs. Fuck yeah! It's Friday and we got a party going the fuck on!

  21. Haha, you ambitious man! Yeah, gave it a spin last night and this is definitely their best album so far. They still haven't really upped the pace at all which was an initial disappointment, but they do seem far more consistent and there were a lot of songs I enjoyed here. I'll be interested to see how it grows. Not sure if it'll make my top 10, but we'll see. One thing for sure, nothing as good as 'Q' on here, though. BTW, read up on them on Wikipedia yesterday too - the departure of the original lead singer doesn't sound like much fun. Poor bastard. I wonder what the planned 3rd album he leaked sounds like.
  22. 42D is even nicer. Fuck yeah.
  23. Yeah great album...pretty much resides permanently in my disc changer in the car. Not that far behind 'Take It To The Limit' IMO. You're both mental. "Extreme Behaviour" was dogshit. (I say was, because my copy has long since been binned). I've heard at least half-a-dozen Modern Rock discs this year so far that beat the shit out of it. sorry but i really like the album....esp the first half which is filler free and pretty damned wicked. Haha... I'm an idiot. It was actually 'Take it to the limit' I was listening to yesterday and that's the album I meant to say kills anything from this year... but yeah, I agree with Glen. 'Extreme Behaviour' is excellent too and not far off it by any means. Two killer discs. Anyway, spinning: Raw Silk - 'Silk under the skin' ; love this disc! Swedish Erotica - 'Blindman's Justice' ; and this one! this is for ya,hehehe..... Okay, I have to ask... what the f*ck was that and what was the meaning of it??? so you don't recognize raw silk's singer? Oh, I didn't get to hear it too well. I'll try if I get a moment free of other people. Swedish Erotica - 'Too Daze Gone' Steel Panther - 'Feel the steel'

Simple as that. The songs are the best I have heard in 2009. Anyway, heard some Spinal Tap last night (this new album) and it didn't make me want to pursue it, but I might still. Out of curiosity. The songs weren't even really that rocky. As in the music sounded to be as much a joke as the lyrical content? Is that right? Obviously you guys have much more attachment to these guys as you grew up with it, but from what I've seen and heard I'm not dying to get into them. But I will try them at some point.
