    Hmmm!

I'm still trying to figure out which one is "Statler" and which one is "Waldorf".
  2. Manimal - Edge of Darkness. Yep great stuff, but Dead Planet beat you to it. Great to see there's a pending new album. These guys are quality. Killer riffage and killer vocals!
  3. Tim Cappello/The Call - I Still Believe. Well fuck me. I love this track and only found out today that Cappello's iconic version from "The Lost Boys" is actually a cover. The version by "The Call" is the original!
  4. They've always been plagued by legal issues.
  5. Good for you. Like I said, just keep doing what you're doing.
  6. Just keep doing what you're doing mate. You've been smashing the posts out lately. It won't take long to build up that total. Just remember, Quantity vs Quality? It's an interesting question.
  7. Another genre that deserves it's own thread. Not necessarily AOR, Metal or Sleaze, but perhaps a mixture of all three?
  8. Little River Band - Playing to Win. One of my favourite songs ever. In the mid 80s LRB recruited John Farnham for Lead Vocal duties. An AOR match made in Heaven. It didn't last very long. John Farnham went on, however, to release the album "Whispering Jack" and cement his place in Australian music history. He was already pretty much a household name before the WJ album, but that absolutely sealed the deal.
  9. Very, very cool. They were on top of the world. Little did they know how soon the end would come, for all of us.
  10. Ha! Sorry mate. I wasn't being a smart arse. I could've sworn that I started a mash up thread, but couldn't find it this morning, so I thought, maybe I didn't? WTF did I call it?
  11. Zhenx - Action. Killer Hard Rock with David A Saylor on Vocals.
  12. The creativity in his clips is incredible. Not only musically. His video editing skills are just as impressive.
  13. Totally agree. A ridiculous amount of talent involved with these Mash ups. McClintock is the King.
  14. Bill McClintock, the best in the business.
  15. That's just crazy talk. Please note the absence of the dancing banana.
  16. Well, there was an asterisk and a dancing banana involved. I can't be any clearer than that.
  17. Noiseworks - Take Me Back. I seem to be focusing on the Aussie stuff in this thread. Noiseworks are another quintessential Aussie band. Many great tracks, but this is their Masterpiece. This is what we call down here a "Pub song". I can pretty much guarantee that every Aussie here has sung this song completely off their tits surrounded by mates at some stage. Actually, I'd be interested to know how well known these guys are overseas?
  18. Black Sun - Terror Zone. One from 2020 that I enjoy very much.
  19. There is no doubt that there are many cover versions better than the original. A bit more than 1 in 100. There already is a "cover songs" thread, but just as an example, here's three. My Mum loved Joe Cocker, much to my dismay. I didn't get it. There is however, no denying how brilliant his reworking of "With a Little Help From my Friends" is. Queen's "We Will Rock You" is deservedly iconic, but Warrant took it to a whole new level. Even Glen can't deny the superiority of the third one from Kelly Hansen compared to the original.* *
  20. That's not bad. Vocals could be slightly better TBH.
  21. These guys are great. I didn't know there was a new album. Cheers.
  22. Stratovarius - The Hills Have Eyes. Killer intro!!!
