  1. I saw him in a recent Aussie interview talking about this and he was saying that, he sings Rock, but he's not just a Rock singer. I don't know what he's like in real life, but he seems like a really nice guy. Worlds apart from Gene Simmons. I think the completely different levels of respect they get from the industry and fans reflects that. I love Gene, but there's no denying his Douchebaggery. Paul's so well liked that I think even hardcore KISS fans will embrace this album or at least give it a listen as a result of that. Good on him. Like JBJ, he's more than earned the right to follow his musical passion.
  2. Fake ass pandemic = fake ass statistics.
  3. Yeah, you're right actually. I still consider it a great album though, based on those three tracks alone.
  4. Ian Moss - Out of the Fire. I'm not sure how well known "Cold Chisel" are overseas, but the word Legendary doesn't begin to describe how they're thought of down here. Ian Moss was/is the Lead Guitarist and co Lead Vocalist. Not only a great Guitarist, but this guy could stand on stage and go toe to toe with Jimmy Barnes vocally, which is no mean feat. In 1989 he released a solo album called "Matchbook", which had great commercial success and was critically acclaimed. Unfortunately he didn't really follow it up at all. The single "Tucker's Daughter" was massive and still gets regular radio airplay. I always preferred "Out of the Fire". It just oozes class.
  5. Three tracks from one of the best AOR albums of all time. Great Commercial success as well. I find it hard to pick a favourite from these three, maybe if I had to, I'd go with "Don't Slow Down". BTW... "Kyrie eleison" means "Lord, have mercy", from the Ancient Greek, as my Greek mate eagerly pointed out to me back in the day.
  6. Skid Row - Little Wing A great song in it's right, covered by many, but this killer Sleaze interpretation is my favourite. Killer EP, BTW!
  7. A great "self proclaimed" Hired Gun and rightly so. Not quite as prolific as some, but I love this guy and he rarely disappoints, although he's never matched the brilliance of the first two XYZ albums. Just a great Hardrock voice.
  8. I didn't realize Seb's version was a cover. This is cool, but you can't beat Bach's vocals.
  9. I've highlighted their first two albums, so I thought i'd post what is for me, the third album in the Lynch Mob "Holy Trinity". A reboot album done right IMO, consisting of tracks from Dokken and the aforementioned Lynch Mob albums with Robert Mason on vocals. The songs are grittier, heavier and darker than the originals without being too different. I'm not sure where the song "Relax" comes from, but it's brilliant. Very simple, just verse, chorus, repeat, but it really highlights Robert Mason's vocals. "When Darkness Calls" is my long time favourite track from the ST album and when I first heard this version it was a bit jarring. I now have a hard time choosing my favourite version.
  10. Apparently based on the life of William Randolph Hearst. The first true media mogul. His Granddaughter Patty was an interesting character.
  11. Sebastian Bach - American Metalhead. I love this track. I was thinking about posting these in the Sleaze/Glam thread, but I've posted them here because of the title. TBH though, if Sebastian Bach sang "The Australian National Anthem", I would consider it Sleaze.
  12. A great movie, but it contains a massive plot hole. The basis of the whole movie is essentially, a reporter trying to find out what was so meaningful about the word "Rosebud", that the most powerful man in the world would choose this as his last word on his deathbed. In the opening scene when he utters the magic word "Rosebud" before dying......nobody is there to see/hear it. How did they know his last word?
  13. Mystic Prophecy - Demons Crown. Fuck it!, another one for today. Another one of their tracks that's borderline cheesy, but I love it.
  14. Primal Fear - The End is Near. Another band that never, ever disappoints.
  15. I saw the thumbnail and thought, Lizzy Hale, predominantly Female band, "Mouth for War"....nope. Then I heard it, killer version!
  16. Victory - Won't Bring Me Down. Definitely my favourite Victory track. Killer intro!
  17. Dino Jelusick and Ivan Keller from "Animal Drive" in an Epic 48 second video with no vocals from Dino. Honestly, I've never heard a Keytar sound as good as that.
  18. Nothing wrong with some good Prog Metal. I mentioned in my OP that all forms of Metal are welcome here, so you've inspired me to change the title of the topic. Cheers. Unfortunately your video is "unavailable".
  19. Once you planted the seed in my mind, I had to check it out. Shit song though.
  20. Yeah, I remember reading an interview with Don mentioning the AIDS thing. It's really cool of him to respond by saying that at the end of the day he's happy with different interpretations.
  21. Mechanix - Half Past Midnight. Killer track from a Killer album by the band formerly known as NVS.
